Predicament

"Thor," she said back, warily. The grip to her sword became harder when Thot took a step forward, making him stop.

"I assure you, I am not here with hostility," he tried to calm her down but Freya scoffed back at him.

"The day I believe that is the day Odin gets his eye back," she mocked. "Why are you here?" Thor looked at the unconscious Thrud in his arms tenderly.

"What any parent would want, the safety of their child," he answered back, coming closer to her despite her combat stance becoming more pronounced. "Thrud has awakened a power I would have rather she never knew about. I need your help to seal it from the eyes of Odin." Freya looked at him with disbelief.

She knew Thor much better than most since she was married to Odin. She knew his habits, personality, his desires or lack of in this case, and taking care of his children was one of the many things he had discarded in his long life as Odin's attack dog. He was the most loyal follower of Odin and she knew if she wanted to go after the All Father, she would have to take on Thor Odinson and that is a pipe dream for most including her.

Thor was a war mongering psychopath whose entire purpose in life was crushing skulls and decimating battlefields. She had seen firsthand how drunken he was in battle during a mission sanctioned by Odin to Jutenheim that she had to result to teleporting them back just to stop his massacre. But now, hearing him talk about hiding things from Odin was just too strange and she knew something has changed.

She looked at him carefully, really carefully and a shiver ran down her spine. This Thor was blank. His entire demeanor, his eyes, facial expressions, when he looked at her, all she could see was a terrifying blankness. It was like he had become truly unfathomable. The fat psychopath from the past was gone and what stood in front of her was a beast, much, much, much more dangerous than anyone she has ever seen.

"Who are you?" she asked in fear, taking a step backwards. Her fear did not erode her years of combat as a Valkyrie, her sword remained stead first, aimed at him.

"Right now, Freya, I'm just a distraught father looking for help," Thor said softly. He knew Freya had scanned him using her Vanir magic and was quite impressed it warned her of how dangerous he truly was. It was at this moment that he decided to look into the accults of all the realms. Reality warping was overpowered, but he could not resist the urge of casting spells like a badass Df Strange...no, like Dr Voodoo.

Freya looked at the unconscious girl in his arms and her cold heart warmed a little bit. Thrud looked cute when she was asleep and with her face resembling her mother somewhat, she was subconsciously agreeing to help her. Never did it occur to her Thor was planting telepathic suggestions in her subconsciousness, making her lean towards helping her. With a sigh, she cast a spell, making a long table made of vines grow from the snow in a second.

"Put her down, I'll start right away," she sighed with a deep sigh. Thor nodded sombrely and laid Thrud on the table. "What power am I looking for?"

"Berserker Rage," Thor answered. Freya almost jumped away when she heard the name, looking at him with wide eyes of shock and fear. The most fearsome Berserker in all the realms was Thor, fighting and killing all the Jotnars in years without rest. This was all because of his immense strength, durability, stamina and one track mindedness, at least to the outside knowledge. She and a select few knew that Thor possessed the Berserker Rage, a power that would practically make him a mindless killing machine, enhancing his power ten fold when activated. This was the reason Odin wanted...needed him on his side. With a soldier like him, who needs an army?

"That..." She couldn't finish that sentence because she didn't know what to say.

"Exactly. If Odin knows she has this power, he will do all he can to make sure Thrud ends up in his manipulative fingers. I can't have that," Thor told her, gravely.

"This...This is a big ask you want from me," Freya said, a little pale.

"You don't have enough power to do it?" he asked with a frown. He would much prefer if it is covered up with magic because then it would look natural. With him doing it, Odin would be able to notice a strange power in Thrud and become suspicious.

"I can do it, but the main ingredient to do it might be difficult to get," Freya said. "The World Tree's root is the best kind of sealing ingredient I can think of. Due to its power seeping through all the realms, Odin won't be suspicious if Thrud is covered in it. In fact, most spells and runes come from the power of the world tree."

"The world tree roots, what a coincidence," Thor said as he looked at her with a frown. Odin had used the roots and his hanging rope to bind Freya fully in Midgard, thus her predicament when in pursue of Kratos. The Greek god can go to another realm but Freya couldn't because of the curse.

"Do you know something I don't?" Freya asked seeing his thoughtful stare. Just then, Thrud woke up with a start, sitting up right with a fright.

"DAD!" she called out. Thor was by her side in an instant, gently lay his arm on her shoulder.

"Thrudie, I'm right here!" he said comfortingly. Thrud hugged him in distress to a point if any normal human was in his paste, he would have turned to a meat paste.

"I don't know what happened. I just got so angry I blacked out. I felt terrifying power wash over me before I was pulled into a nightmare where I kept on killing and killing!" Thrud sobbed.

"Don't worry, it is nothing but a nightmare. As for that terrifying power, I'll help you control it. It is called the Berserker's Rage, a powerful but corroding source of power that some warriors can tap into when they are at their wit's end," Thor comforted her. Thrud then realized that they were in a place surrounded by snow all around. She looked around before her eyes widening when she saw Freya.

"She is..." Thor interupted her.

"Your grandmother, Freya," Thor said before continuing sternly, "and someone you haven't seen today." Thrud was a smart girl, she immediately knew what her father was telling her, nodded. Thor looked at Freya who had a small smile on her face.

"I'll do a patchwork at the moment. Give me two days and I'll solve both our predicaments," he told her before him and Thrud disappeared with a flash of lightning. Freya was left wondering what he means by that but did not dwell on it for long because she felt the scent of Atreus' magic coming towards her. After years of always actively trying to kill his father and the boy being constantly by his side, she had mastered what his magic felt like, tracking them sometimes using it.
