27 Suspicious Heart!

"Okay, tell me. What happened?" Rahul asked.

From the employees, Rahul gets to know that Varun had a sour mood today. He is punishing everyone for any mistakes they made in the past month.

"Sir, CEO Sir asked me to repeat this presentation in a day, but it took me a week to make it," said the Marketing Department Head, inwardly crying.

"Sir, CEO sir, asked us to many such tasks which are not easy to achieve within a day otherwise, he will cut our salaries."

Rahul frowned and told them, "I will try to help you. But at the end of the day, he is my boss as well, so we better try to do what we had asked to do."

He moved towards Varun's office.

"Good Morning, Varun?" his eyes widened after seeing his brother's table buried under a mountain of files.

"What's going on?" he asked with narrowed eyes.

Varun raised one of his beautiful eyebrows at him.

"You are here at the right time. Go and prepare Mr. Chopra's claim. We are having a meeting in two hours over it."

Rahul stepped back, "Varun, are you all right?"

Varun glared at him, and Rahu feels a sudden chill running down his spine.

Even after thinking his brains out and pestering Varun to no end, Rahul failed to grab any information. He would never be able to guess that just a fit of slight jealousy is enough to make everyone in the GVAN Corporation suffer.

At 5 p.m, the cause of all this, Somya, called Varun, but he didn't pick it up. He thought she would call him until he picks up. But no. Today, she didn't even try to pester him. He got even more annoyed now.

That day all the senior employees suffered from the wrath of their boss and worked till late.

Varun attended many meetings in a single day but after that evening call of Somya, he wasn't able to focus on anything. Her thoughts keep on bothering him.

Unable to do his work, he decides to do the rest of his work at home.

At 9:30p.m Somya called him again. This time he picked it before thinking, afraid that she might not call him again.

"Hey Beauty, it's your Miss Cutie here!"

"You are engaged now, but you still dare to flirt with me?"

"I am praising you. How is it flirting?"

"Cut the chase. Why did you call me?"

"Ho! Must I have a reason to call you?"

"...."

"I called you because I missed you."

"...," her words somewhat soothed his nerves, but he still doesn't reply.

"Okay! I called you for a reason but that is just an excuse for making you talk to me," Somya tried to persuade him but to no avail.

"...," he obviously felt better but still keep his pretense.

"Are you still not saying anything? Alright, I won't disturb you then. Bye."

"Wait," he finally opened his mouth.

"Yes," Somya's honey-coated voice ringed in his ears.

"Say."

" I remember you were going to Mumbai on a work for few days?"

"Hmm. So?"

"So, I wanna ask when are you going?"

"What does it have to do with you?"

"The thing is...I have to go to Mumbai too for official work. So...I was thinking if you can give me a lift to Mumbai?"

Varun thought for few moments.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because I want to save some traveling expenditure. You know my wedding is approaching, and I need to save for it."

"No. I am asking why me? Why don't you ask your fiance," he asked in an irritated voice.

"Of course, because I am more close to you than him."

"Hmm," her answer pleased his ears for no reason.

"So? Can you help me? This one time, please?" she tried to speak as softly as she could.

"Alright, I will see."

"Yahoo! You are the best buddy! Thank You!" she hopped like an excited bunny on her balcony.

Looking at her jumping figure, Varun smiled for the first time in his entire day.

Next-Day at the office,

Rahul was summoned by his 'Boss' as soon as he entered the office for something important.

"Rahul, is there any work pending for me to look into Mumbai Branch?"

"Huh, Mumbai Branch? Let me check, but I don't think there is anything big for you to do."

"Okay. So set a meeting for our Mumbai Team in few days. I will personally attend it."

"..." Rahul was flabbergasted. Lately, his brother's behavior is getting more and more strange.

Now when Varun arranged things as per her requirements, he finally felt satisfied. He was glad she is still dependent on him. He was unaware of the stupid smile dancing on his lips thinking about this. But Rahul felt like he met a ghost. After ordering a meeting in a different state out of the blue, his best friend is smiling crazy. He quickly left his office and went to call someone,

"Maa*, I think we need to arrange a wife for him soon," 'before his brother becomes more stupid in love and still be unknown to it,' he shrieked inwardly.

In Varun's Office,

Varun called his Bunny to tell her the news that will make her hop for the entire day. As he expected, she became instantly happy.

He almost laughed, imagining her hoping with her dog.
