Warrior apprentice to Rookie Warrior

It was months later after I started my warrior training in earnest. My everyday life has gotten busier and harder compared to other children my age.

"Don't push yourself too hard. You may take a break if you're tired." My father Ruijerd told me.

I know that despite my early maturity, he still doesn't consider me as a full fledged warrior. For a warrior to be recognized as one, he needed to hunt a monster on his own to bring back and feast on it. That's how the Superd warriors will be full fledged warriors.

My father treating me as a child doesn't really bother me all that much. I just needed to do what I can do for the moment.

I continued my training everyday like I used to. Aside from having my father personally instruct me, I also had a few exercises I do.

One of them is to blindfold my two eyes. This training helps me on making me rely on my third eye that acts like a radar to sense my surroundings. I was inspired by some of the anime and manga shows training arcs to come up with this training method. I also got the feeling that I could see through a person's Mana cores and circuits on their body like a Byakugan in Naruto, I could even see my own body too like a camera filter. Also my dynamic vision seems to grow too, like seeing the world in slow motion and let it play normal however I want.

In the end, I did indeed managed to gain better senses than normal Superds. Even if I had to gouge out my eyeballs right now, I could still live my life like normal.

Next is the old classic weighted training. I made the effort to wrap myself in heavy sandbags on my limbs and waist. These material I found is quite rare, heavier than you initially might thought. I thought it might be made of a special material. The more you put your Mana into it, the heavier it gets.

"Don't push yourself too hard Ruiweld." Mother reprimanded me once she saw me blindfolded with all sorts of weights on me.

"Okay mother. I will be done with just a bit more."

My mother sighed worriedly. I can see that she's really worried, though I don't really blame her.

I decided to take it easy today and ended my training with just a few sets.

"Alright mother I'm done. What's for dinner today?"

My mother looked really happy when she saw me set aside my training. She must be really lonely, her husband is busy with the work of a child warrior of the tribe and her son is doing nothing but training.

For the first time in a while, se had a wide smile plastered on her face. I really need to take it easy every now and then.

...

Several years later, I have turned 10 years old. The entire Demon Continent is under a great change.

A certain powerful Demon was born. He is ridiculously strong and went challenging the other Demon Kings to submission. He united the whole Demon Race under his rule and brought prosperity to the entire Demon Race. The Demons admired and respected him. He started amassing military strength and started to wage war against the Human Race that has oppressed the Demons for many many years.

Due to his charismatic leadership, absolute power, and achievements, he was now revered even higher than even the Demon Empress.

He is named the Demon God Laplace.

Laplace is a key figure in the Mushoku Tensei world. There's no part in history or places where Laplace doesn't leave his legacy in the story.

However he is also the one who bring the Superd tribe their ruin.

The Superd warriors have also been enlisted into Demon God Laplace's military forces. As a proud warrior race, there is no higher honor than serving the Demon God and fight in the battlefield.

The chief, council of elders, and the warriors are discussing on how they would proceed from now on. I was also present since I have also been recognized as a full fledged warrior just recently.

I just successfully hunted a giant turtle monster and brought it back for food. My spear has gotten sharp enough to pierce through their shells.

"Ruiweld, you will stay here." My father Ruijerd told me.

Every warrior in the tribe are going to battle except for me. The elders and the chief are also in full agreement.

"May I know the reason why father?" Instead of rebelling and throwing a tantrum like an eager rookie warrior, I decided to ask the reason why instead.

"We know your strength as a warrior all too well, we don't have the intention of stepping on your warrior's honor. But it was because we know of your strength that we decided to let you stay." It wasn't father who answered but a certain elder.

Then he continued, "As you can see now, your peers has just matured with their tails fallen off. As our warriors are headed for battle, we needed someone to guide them. In the next stage of your training, you will also need how to lead the younger warriors. Can we entrust this task to you?"

So basically they wanted me to stay and continue my training. Not as a common foot soldier but as a commander now? It's like the difference of a common enlisted course to an officer's course of the military.

"I abide by the decision of the elder." I said.

As a warrior, we have a strong sense of following our chain of command. Maybe it was because we're a combat race.

It has been decided that I will stay.

Mother looks relieved that I won't be participating in the front lines. Guess she's really worried by it. Her husband's going away for battle, she was glad that her son would stay safe.

"Ruijerd, may the fortune of war be with you."

"Yeah, thank you Luwelia."

And then my parents gave each other a deep kiss affectionately. They held each other in their arms for a while.

Father was about to pat me in the head, then he hesitated and gave a firm hold on my shoulder.

"I will leave your mother to you Ruiweld." Father said to me.

"Yes, leave it to me father."

And so the Superd warriors left the village.

The Third Human Demon War commenced. Or better known as the Laplace Campaign.
