29 29. First Snowfall

Content to stare at Diona from across the street, Avery turned his horse around. Because she had finished setting out the flowerpot in the yard.

Avery's white horse headed back down the same road as he had left. Across the border between the diamond village and the pearl village.

Alice has been quiet for a while. She just kept busy watching the road she was on with Avery. Alice could only daydream once in a while.

"When winter's over, I'll take you out again, Alice. Maybe I'll introduce you to Diona." Avery said.

Hearing those words, of course Alice flatly refused. "No Prince necessary. I'd rather be busy in the palace. I understand you prince. Feel free to meet her alone and tell her how you feel about her."

Avery smiled. "I'm kind of embarrassed actually. Diona was a very clever and polite girl. What do you think I should do for her this weekend?"

"Just give the rose like you gave princess Ariadne."

"Ah, no. Not the flowers. Diona doesn't like presents of flowers. Maybe I'll give her a cookie. She likes cake."

Alice nodded without looking back at Avery.

The two of them arrived at the front of the kingdom hall when it was time for lunch. The sky was cloudy and the temperature was still cold. It's true it's going to snow tonight.

"Come in, Alice, I'll carry my own coat. I promise to tell my mom and your mom that you're really going out. They won't scold you." Avery said.

Alice smiled. Then the girl saluted Avery with a polite bow. "Thank you, prince. Then I'll go inside."

"Yes. Go ahead."

As he steered his horse into a special cage, Avery still smiled. The man's mind was still on Diona's face. Loving someone can be so happy. Even though Avery had only a short time to see Diona and from a distance.

While Alice, who had been up the hall in the palace, stopped her two steps. The girl looked down at the red knitted scarf she was still wearing. That scarf belongs to Avery she's been wearing since before.

"Alice! Where have you been?"

Agnes hurried over to Alice. The forty - year - old woman strolled along with a slight uplifted skirt on her dress.

"Mom? Ah mother.. My apologies. I only went out for a moment with prince Av --"

"She came out with me." Avery said. The man was suddenly behind Alice's body.

Alice was surprised, of course. She was about to take a punch from Agnes.

When Avery came in, Agnes leaned over politely. "I'm sorry, prince, for making you see the way I was angry at my daughter."

Avery smiled. The man shook his head. "Do not scold your daughter. I asked her out. Just go around green lake and look at the condition of the pearl production area. Alice is completely innocent. I wanted to tell you that."

"Ah, well. Alice, go to the kitchen and blend in immediately with the rest of the servants. You should also prepare lunch for prince Avery." Agnes said.

Alice nodded obediently. "Okay, mom. Prince, thank you."

Listening to Alice's thanks, Avery winked his left eye. Then the man turned and went to the room. Maybe Avery will pay a visit to Queen Berenice and tell her what he's been through.

Ariadne's dinner this time is rather difficult. Her left arm still hurts when she's moving. To even move the fork, it tastes like shit. Her left arm shouldn't move around too much until her stitching dries up.

What can be done if Ariadne moves her left arm just to eat. She was not to be seen in pain in front of the servants, Elie, and Darian. They will all suspect Ariadne is in pain.

"Is your shoulder all right?" Ask Darian. The man put a royal plush coat on Ariadne's back. The weather is getting colder and all kingdom citizens have changed in warm, thick clothing.

Ariadne just nodded. Today she wore a long-sleeved dress. Fortunately, the temperature is cold, so Ariadne feels no heat at all.

"Go to sleep when you're tired, princess. I'll tell Marlyn and Jason to take care of some paperwork you just did."

"No need, Darian. I'm done with my paperwork. Can you help me get these two notebooks into my room?"

Of course Darian nodded. The man then followed Ariadne's footsteps from behind.

Ariadne ordered Darian into her room and placed the two books of documents on the wooden table. On the wooden table there was room for candles and ink for writing. And there's also a royal seal. So if Ariadne is unwell or unwell, she can do her paperwork in the room without going to the royal hall.

"Do you need my help again?"

Ariadne shakes her head. "No. Thank you for bringing me my papers."

"It looks like your shoulder is unable to carry anything. Should I ask my mother to give you a massage?"

"No Darian. I can handle my own body problems. Maybe I'll go to bed early. Ask the guards to tighten their guard."

"Yes, princess." Darian said obediently. The man was about to leave Ariadne's room, but Ariadne again called.

"Darian... You gonna tell the guards right now?"

"Yes. Weren't those your orders?"

Ariadne chuckles softly. "You don't have to do it right now. Let them have dinner first. Don't you want to talk to me while it snowed?"

"Ah, well. We haven't talked in a long time."

"Come in, come with me to stand at the end of the balcony."

"But it's cold, princess. I don't want you to catch a cold."

"Standing in the balcony of my room for only a few minutes won't give me the flu, darian. Only the air feels cold." Said Ariadne.

Darian nodded and smiled. The man is now standing at Ariadne's right hand. The two looked at one another in a dark ash. Clouds in the sky appear very broad and thick.

There is no talk between Ariadne and darian. The two just enjoyed a quiet night. Waiting for the first snowfall.

"How is your relationship with prince Avery?" Darian asked boldly.

Ariadne smiled. "I had an excellent relationship with Avery. He's not very good at expressing feelings."

Darian nodded his understanding. If Ariadne is well, then darian will feel well too.

It finally snowed. Making the dark sky now adorned with snow-white beads. Ariadne's right hand is looking up to catch the falling snow.

The girl was amazed when she saw the first snow fall. A snowflake that landed on Ariadne's palm immediately melted away and was gone.

"Princess, do you like snow very much?" Ask Darian.

"Yes. I like it very much."

'And what about me? Did you ever like me' Darian asked in his own heart. The man stared at Ariadne's face from the right. Ariadne's face is beautiful. It's so beautiful to see.
