42 Its Easier If I Just Show You

"Mhmm." Lin Ke says in his head. "Where should I go in order to learn it?"

"Well… I'm going to be bringing you to someplace first. I need you to get a good look at the teleportation array first. That will serve as a great cornerstone for your foundation." Lily replied mentally.

"I'm going to go try and fix the teleportation array." Lin Ke said to Lia.

Lia looks at him and nods. She looks slightly curious, as if she also wanted to go too, but decided against it. "Okay. I will practice my painting techniques I guess."

Lin Ke picks up Lily in his hands and heads down the mountain. "So? Where's the teleportation array?" Lin Ke asks as they walk.

"It's in the woods… Quite close to where you found that Spirit Flower in fact." Lily replied.

"Also, how long should this take to complete?"

"Mmmm. If you're fast, 2 days should be enough."

"2 Days??? How am I supposed to learn everything about Runes and set it up in 2 days???"

"Well, that's because you're not going to learn it. You'll be getting all the knowledge about runes given to you. You just have to figure out how to apply it and actually use that knowledge." Lily explained.

"Huh?" Lin Ke was confused. "Give me the knowledge? How does that work?"

"You'll be… arghhhh. Whatever. It's easier if I just show you." Lily said. She broke out of Lin Ke's arms and floated up in front of him. She touched him with a paw.

Lin Ke felt a shocking arc of electricity course through his body. All of a sudden, Lin Ke felt as his brain was being flooded with new information. Different pictures and different actions appeared in his head, and many different previously unknown words made themselves known to him.

Lin Ke stumbled back unconsciously, slightly overwhelmed by all the information that had just implanted itself in his head. Accidentally, he ran into a loose pebble, causing him to lose his footing.

"Ahh!" Lin Ke flailed his arms as he almost started rolling down the side of the mountain. However, he didn't fall further backwards, as he felt a soft cushioning force catch him.

Looking over at Lily, he sees her nod at him, as if trying to tell him to calm down and sort through the information.

After the memories stopped flooding in, Lin Ke slowly started to walk down the mountain again, contemplating all the new facts that were in his head. However, try as hard as he might, Lin Ke was unable to recall most of the information. Confused, he looks at Lily.

"It's normal. Since I dumped so much information on you in an instant, your brain automatically sorted through it subconsciously, meaning that most of it just became part of your memories. Without some sort of trigger to force you to recall that information, you probably won't even realize you know this." Lily explains in detail. "Turn right from here."

As Lin Ke walks through the forest, Lily floats beside him, giving him directions. The directions were quite similar to the path they took yesterday, past some familiar looking destruction in the area. Finally, they arrived at another clearing, this one much smaller than the one they had seen yesterday.

However, instead of a small lake, there were 3 small pillars in place, each one positioned a similar distance away from the center, where a small waist high rock laid.

Lin Ke, seeing the teleportation array, walks closer and arrives in front of the rock in the center. The rock had a flat surface, carved with a multitude of lines and shapes.

"That's the Array Core…" Lily slowly says while monitoring Lin Ke's expression.

Lin Ke freezes. "Array core…" He mumbles. "Array core…" As he repeats it, information starts to flood his brain. "Carved… Void Stone… Energy Gathering Rune… Energy Conversion Rune… Stabilization Rune… Spirit… Spirit?" Lin Ke mumbles to himself in a confused way.

Lily watches intently, with a hint of… worry? However, she doesn't interrupt Lin Ke's mumbling but instead watches as he slowly sorts out the thoughts floating about his head.

After standing there staring at the Array core dazedly for a few minutes, Lin Ke finally snaps out of it and regains his focus. He looks down at the Array Core, slightly amazed. Then he looks over at Lily. "Wow. This is amazing! I know everything about array cores now!"

Lily humphs. "No you don't! This is only the lowest level! Why are you so proud of that? Plus, you took way longer to figure it all out then I thought!"

Lin Ke scratches his head sheepishly. "Well… Hehehe, it was a little confusing you know…" Then, in a more serious tone, he asks. "But Lily. Why give me all this information by shoving it all into my head? Why not just teach me it all or something?"

Lily thinks about her reply. "Hm. Well, the thing is, this isn't really completely related to being an Artist, but it is still a form of art, you know? The every brush strokes, the every groove every nick in the core, everything, it's all just a huge elegant artwork. That's why the system decided to just give you the information necessary as this is just a 'side quest'."

Lin Ke nods slightly. There was indeed some truth behind Lily's words and after gaining all this new knowledge on Runic Inscriptions and on Arrays, Lin Ke had to agree a little, even if the similarity was a little strained at best.

"Would be great if you did this with everything." Lin Ke threw out there casually.

Lily scowls. "What do you mean by that? I can't just give you all the information in the world! If I did that, then you would act so much differently! Anyways, enough talking! It's time for you to try and inscribe the runes yourself!"
