2 New God

In a small wooden hut sat a boy around the age of 16, his looks were average, and he was quite short for his age. The boy was Ezekiel who has been sitting on the bed for hours now. Ever since the encounter with the goblin Ezekiel's movements and thoughts has been paralyzed. The vicious look of the goblin was stuck in his head. Visible beads of sweat could still be observed slowly rolling down the cheeks of Ezekiel. Another hour passed, slowly Ezekiel stood up from the bed. Ezekiel had a massive headache from all the questions bombarding his mind. Questions such as "Where am I?", "What the hell is going on?", "Why am I still alive?", "What was that monster?", Etc. The sun was falling and Ezekiel was desperate for answers. The only place where Ezekiel could get answers for his question was the village he had just recently escaped from, knowing that, Ezekiel started making his way back towards the village.

However, on his way down to the village, Ezekiel noticed a black object rushing towards him at high speed. Ezekiel's instincts were screaming at him to run away, but Ezekiel knew he would not be able to outrun whatever was advancing towards his direction. So he grabbed a thick branch laying on the ground around him. Ezekiel held the stick as if it was a baseball bat, resting it on his shoulder, ready to swing at any second. As the small black object came close, it slowly got bigger and bigger until Ezekiel recognized what it was. The object was a black wolf around 1 and a half meters long and half a meter tall. The wolf was bearing its teeth towards Ezekiel; it had large sword wounds on both sides of its stomach. The wolf was noticeable to be malnutrition by Ezekiel being able to see the bone structure underneath the skin of the wolf. The wolf had taken Ezekiel as its next prey. However, Ezekiel wasn't going to become dinner for the wolf.

Because it was a life or death situation, courage before unseen from Ezekiel surfaced. Ezekiel was grasping the branch so strongly that veins were pulsing beneath his skin. He didn't even realize that parts of the branch were starting to dig into his flesh. In this situation, Ezekiel has completely lost sense of pain, anguish, and fear. Even with blood oozing out of his palms he didn't notice. The only thing Ezekiel could sense was the strength building up in his grip and the incoming wolf. 20 Meters, 17 meters, 14 meters, 12 meters. Suddenly the wolf leaped at Ezekiel with its sharp claws. At that split second Ezekiel swung the stick so fast that after images of the stick started to appear. BANG! The stick nailed the wolf right in the head. The wolf was hit a good 2 meters away and landed with a large thud. The stick Ezekiel was using also snapped in half during the collision. Few of the wolf's teeth were now replaced with a stream of red blood. The right side of the wolf's skull was also now disfigured. Pieces of the skull destroyed the wolf's right eye. Blood was gushing out of the wolf's right eye socket. The creature was now completely enraged; it was determined to kill Ezekiel at any cost. Ezekiel saw that the wolf was preparing to leap at him again. However, he understood that he wouldn't be able to strike as hard as he did the first time. He couldn't dodge because he simply wasn't fast enough, so the only thing he could do was take the attack straight on. Just when the wolf sprang towards Ezekiel, Ezekiel purposely fell backward to minimize the force of the impact from the wolf's claws. The Wolf landed on top of Ezekiel with both claws digging into Ezekiel's chest while snapping at his neck. Ezekiel was throwing his head left and right to avoid the wolf's sharp teeth. Every time he dodged the attack he only got closer to death. With his last-ditch struggle, Ezekiel aimed the sharp part of the stick in his hand and jabbed it as strong as he could at the wolf's destroyed eye. At the same time, the wolf once again bites towards Ezekiel's neck. The wolf had managed to chomp down hard on Ezekiel's neck. However, the stick Ezekiel jabbed towards the wolf managed to pierce through the wolf's eye into the brain.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Ezekiel screamed as he grabbed his neck. The pain of his neck being ripped off by the wolf still lingered. However, his neck was still intact when he went to grab it.

"What the hell?" Ezekiel said aloud as he discovered his once tore neck was now completely healed.

"You're dead Ezekiel." Replied a mysterious voice.

"Who's there!" replied Ezekiel looking at his surroundings intensively. He realized that instead of the mountains where he had fought the wolf he was in pure white space.

"You are confused aren't you Ezekiel." Said the mysterious voice out of nowhere.

Ezekiel didn't say anything.

"You have been chosen to become the new God of Rebirth." Said the mysterious voice.

Ezekiel was super dismayed by this new found information.

"However, you are currently too weak to use all of the powers of the God of Rebirth. The only thing you can do right now as the God of Rebirth to reincarnate whenever you die." Said the mysterious voice.

Before Ezekiel can ask the mysterious voice anything, the mysterious voice said, "As the God of Rebirth, whenever you die you could choose new talents for yourself before you reborn. However, these talents come at a price. You buy these talents with a currency called Rebirth Points. You get rebirth points for how strong you become in your previous life and how many monsters you killed. Killing monsters lower than your level will not give you any points, killing monsters with the same level as you would give you 1 point, and killing monsters with a higher level than you would give you many more points depending on how much higher the level of the monster was than you."

"Is there anything else I can use the points for?" asked Ezekiel.

"Besides buying skills, you could also buy what kind of household you want to be reborn in, and what realm to be reborn in. For example being reborn in a royal household would cost more than being reborn in a common household and being reborn in a lower realm of existence would be cheaper than a higher realm of existence. " replied the voice.

"Who are you by the way?" asked Ezekiel asked the voice.

"I cannot tell you right now, but in the future, you could perhaps find out," replied the voice.

"You said that I am the new God of Rebirth inferring that there was a previous God of Rebirth, what happened to him?" asked Ezekiel.

The voice did not respond. Even after trying to ask the voice many other questions the voice did not say anything as if it just disappeared. So Ezekiel just gave up trying anymore.

"Let's see what this talent shop is." Said Ezekiel aloud.

Suddenly a UI resembling something you would find inside a video game market appeared in front of Ezekiel.

"Please choose which skill you want to have, God of Rebirth," said a robotic voice.
