8 Too Embarrassed

Xiao He stood embarrassingly in the middle of the lavishly decorated living room , but he didn't dare to sit down he was in tatters for goodness shake how could he dirty such expensive sofa that his daughter bought with her hard working money as a father he never fulfilled his responsibilities and now his daughter had to take care of him and his mother. never!

"Jiao Jiao father knows you are filial but father can't be burden to you " Xiao He began but before he could even share half of what was on his mind Xiao Mei asked him something that rendered him speechless.

As Jiao Jiao's father he worked day to night making sure that his daughter didn't suffer from any grievances but what he didn't know till today that his money was never spent on his daughter, four years ago when Xiao Mei won the best employee award she rose to instant fame thus when he saw his daughter being hugged by that woman who never worked for the sake of their daughter showering under his daughter's hard earned fame, Xiao He was angry and jealous why? why couldn't he who worked his bones off for his daughter couldn't meet her but that wretched woman could hug her ? Caught in his impulse and jealousy Xiao He went back to his home selected his best piece of clothing and came to find his beloved daughter . As a security guard he knew all the tricks and tips to enter a high secured society like The Golden Age, however his confidence shattered when he caught a glimpse of Xiao Mei in her soft and shiny turtle neck sweater with a wonderful house behind her in front of his daughter's expensive clothes his best piece of clothing was nothing but a filthy piece of rag . However , what surprised him that his daughter didn't looked down on him for his clothes but her look changed when he told her about his identity as her father . That could only mean that that woman bad mouthed him in front of Xiao Mei but before he could even explain himself Xiao Mei turned her back on him and shut him out of her house as well as her life.

From that day onwards Xiao He never sought any other opportunity to meet Or see Xiao Mei yes he loved her , but he too had some self respect .

Seeing that her ready made father had no wish to settle down Xiao Mei simply caught his wrist and shoved him down on the sofa ,caught offguard XiaoHe fell straight on to the chair.

He opened his mouth to say something but the arrival of a young man interrupted him from the looks of it he was carrying Miao Jing's (his mother)medicines in his hand with a disapproving look , even Xiao Mei felt something was off and she hurried towards Lu che .

With her past experience at the hospital Lu che was definitely an excellent doctor thus when she had perfectly settled her supoosed to be grandmother in her medically equipped room she gave a call to Lu che, she was no medical expert but she knew something was wrong with Miao Jing's health thus she didn't wasted a second .

"Is -is something wrong doctor ?" Xiao He was really worried not only was he and his mother imposing on Xiao Mei if something serious happened to his mother wouldn't they be burdening Xiao Mei even more not to mention where would be get the money? he already gave everything to his land lady .

"This where did you get this medicines uncle Xiao?" Lu che was familiar with Xiao Mei a little bit thus he didn't stood on ceremony with Xiao Mei's father at all , after all he felt something for Xiao Mei wasn't this a perfect opportunity for him to let the latter's father acknowledged him ?

" Is there something wrong with them ?" unlike Xiao He who looked anxious and muddleheaded , Xiao Mei was calm afterall nothing good will come if one acted to anxiously.

"Yes because they are not medicine at all ! they are slow acting poison that deteriorates a person's health slowly without even that person's knowledge! " exclaimed Lu che he was really surprised when he examined the old lady he was so scared that his back was soaked in sweat in such a hot weather! People were so vicious now a days .

Both Xiao Mei and Xiao He were startled but unlike Xiao He who looked pale and close to fainting ,Xiao Mei kept her cool

"Can you treat my grandmother ?" Even XiaoMei couldn't help but frown at the newly exposed information, she clearly shunned these types of people yes she was ruthless but to those who deserved it , what about Xiao He and his mother they were practically living a life of street rats ! they were perfectly innocent!

"Yes its not difficult but I need to gather some things I didn't knew that the situation would be so severe " Lu che nodded at the father and daughter pair and left to gather his medical equipment not to mention that this was his first time helping Xiao Mei,he wouldn't let go of this chance to leave a hood impression on her.

Once Lu che left father Xiao didn't bother with anything else he simply grabbed his hair and squatted down his face showing utter despair.

Xiao Mei shook her head in disappointment and asked Aunt Zhou her helper to grab a glass of water , then she helped Xiao He back on the chair . Xiao He was so shocked that he didn't even muttered a word and let Xiao Mei steer him back .

"Drink some water dad, you should calm yourself down a little don't worry doctor Lu is an expert nothing will happen to grandmother " Xiao Mei simply grabbed the glass of water from aunt Zhou and helped her father in gulping down a little water .

"I - What about money ?" once he spoke Xiao He was flushed red he of course didn't had any money left with him and he didn't wanted to burden his daughter but such a thing happened what was he going to do now ? other than relying on his daughter he had no other options . Miao Jing was his mother she had gone through thick and thin with him after his father mistress blocked all sources of their income , he couldn't let his mother down not now when she needed him the most but he was not a person without conscience if Xiao Mei helped him today he will definitely pay her back one day no matter what the cost .

"Don't worry dad I won't let Grandmother suffer " Xiao Mei knew what was going through Xiao He's mind and she was quite satisfied with this father of her's atleast there were a few people good to her in this stupid novel .

Once Xiao Mei reassured Xiao He, he calmed a lot but still something kept troubling him he looked at Xiao Mei opened his mouth to speak but then shook his head and closed his mouth , this action was repeated more than once even Xiao Mei felt amused .

"What is it ?" she knew her father wanted to ask her something

"Why ? why would that doctor give me something like this ? I paid him! " thinking about how much he paid that quack of doctor , Xiao He felt enraged he wanted to thrash it out with that old doctor !

"you think that he simply fooled you ? don't you dad ?"

"Isn't that the case ?" Xiao He furrowed his brows or else what could be the case ?

"think about it if something happened to grandmother will you be able to suffer the blow? and if you couldn't suffer it you will eventually lose your will to live too ,and with both of you dead who will be the one who will be the one to gain? "

At first Xiao He was a little confused but once Xiao Mei spoke it so clearly even the muddleheaded Xiao He knew who did them in !

"Ignorance is a bliss " Xiao Mei smiled complacently " You're too naive dad, from what I heard your step sister married in a husband but she failed to give birth to a son , both childeren of her's are daughters dont you think that grandfather mind would waver , no matter how much he loved his mistress he still have to think about his clan and his company without a son or grandson his company will one day die away not to mention he can not marry in a husband for his grand daughters as well thus his mind would then latch on to you his only son who is divorced and have only one child , I believe grandfather is intending to get you back and have you married to one of those rich mistress as long as you can bear a grandson for him,his company would not suffer . In grandfather's eyes you still have some advantages unlike your Step sister who cannot give birth to grandson now that she already have two children. Thus I think those two decided to end your life with such methods , it's easy job not to mention if you and grandmother died in such way their was no way that this will get back to them and their hands will not get dirty either , thus you can guess from here on what they did , they knew where you lived thus they slowly laid their trap "

After Hearing Xiao Mei's explanation Xiao He was so shocked that he felt numb . He couldn't believe that their were so vicious people in his life , they have already pushed him down his lifewas pathetic even worse than that of a street dog but still they weren't done !

While Xiao He was contemplating the viciousness of people Aunty Zhou came back , Xiao Mei had sent her to grab some clothes for her father and grandmother all drama apart these two people were going to live with her from now on she should make their life easier as much as she can .

"here go and take a shower you need it dad " pushing the newly brought white shirt and sweat pants in Xiao He's hand Xiao Mei stood up .

" this -?" no matter how much shocked he was , Xiao He still had some feelings of embarrassment left

" please dad forgive me for what i did a few years ago but now I hope we all can live like a happy family , if you can do that please treat this as your own house " not giving Xiao He any chance to refuse Xiao Mei simply placed all her emotional cards and as expected once Xiao Mei spoke , Xiao He nodded his head in acknowledgement how could he refuse? his daughter was acknowledging their relationship it was the happiest moment of his life!

Clutching the new clothes safely in his arms Xiao He made his way to where Xiao Mei pointed but than stopped in his tracks

"Jiao Jiao why are you here shouldn't you be at office?" Xiao He wasn't much aware of his daughter's job but he knew she was too busy and had an important position in her company .

"No I took three days leave "

" Will every thing be alright without you "

"Of course " Xiao Mei Answered with a smile that could rival the sun .
