6 FORGOT ABOUT IT

" I didn't mean it that way Emily. I just wanted to know... " Nathan shrugged.

Emily was in a bad mood. she got up and left to study room.

Nathan saw her stomping with anger. he found it cute. He smiled and continued playing in his phone.

From that day, Nathan came home every day unlike him. Emily was always left alone so her phone calls would be on speaker and there was music playing all day long. somtimes she sing through it while cooking.

Nathan gave surprise visits all week. He caught in all her acts and realizes how much he missed knowing her.

For the first time he wanted to leave his past behind and move on with her. His WIFE.

He tries to make conversations but gets interrupted by office calls for Emily.

After a week, Emily receives a call from Kate while working on a presentation. Emily absent mindedly answers her call and the phone is set on speaker.

Nathan was sitting in the living room while Emily is working on her laptop in the backyard closer to living room. He could listen to their conversation.

Kate : Hi Emily.

Emily : hi mum. how are upu and dad?

she greeted while working. Nathan is observing her from the couch.

Kate : we are fine. how is it going?

Emily : about what mum?

Kate : No way. don't say that you forgot about the baby promise that you guys have me.

" SHIT " the couple cursed in sync.

Emily then. looked at Nathan.

Emily : uhhh ... mum about that... we are trying.

Kate : Put Nathan on the call right NOW.

Kate sounded like a roaring Lion.

Nathan jumped from the couch and ran towards Emily.

Nathan : mum, we are trying for the baby. You have to give us sometime. you can't get the natural process done right away. it needs time.

Nathan tried to convince his mum.

Kate : well then.. Emily didn't sound like this. she is speaking as if you guys haven't tried yet.

Emily gulped. she kittend her brows and spoke.

Emily : well I was just distracted mum. I am working on a presentation so..

Kate : fine then. Emily I think you should start taking pregnancy test everyday from now on.

you really can't wait until you experience symptoms. if you are pregnant and perform harsh activities, it might be danger for the baby. you know what I am saying right?

there was slience for some time

Emily was. embrassed. she wanted to hide somewhere. it wasn't the first time Kate speaking like this. it was first time that Nathan was here during their conversation.

It is true that Kate was forcing Emily for a baby. Kate always mentions about different kinds of positions to her that Emily's face becomes bloodshot red.

Kate : are you guys understanding? hello??

Nathan : yes mum.. we understand.

Kate : I'll call you later. I have an appointment to attend. take care. love guys. Bye..

Nathan and Emily : love you too. Bye.

both of them sighed in relief and Nathan sat beside Emily.He observed her all tensed up. They had to do it today or tomorrow.

There is no escape from it.

" We have to take the next step... you know it right.

Nathan couldn't hold back. he wanted to know of she has the thought of having a baby or not. He smiled at her.

Emily understood the " next step ".but was not ready.Not for the baby, but for their intimacy. she wanted Nathan to clear everything but he doesn't talk about it at all. Still for Kate, they have do it.

she was straight with her answer that shocked Nathan.

" Let's do it tonight. " she said without any feeling.

But she was sulking inside. She wanted to do it out of love, trust, respect for each other.

Nathan found this annoying. He tried to talk but she gave a straight answer and went away from him.

In the night, Emily and Nathan had their dinner without a word. Nathan was pissed with his wife. He doesn't want to force her into anything.

Emily never met Nathan's glare since evening.

After dinner, Nathan attended a international call related to work.

Emily was sitting on her side of the bed reading a novel, when Nathan came in.

Nathan sat in front of Emily on her side and stared at her until. she looked at him.

" why are you staring like that? " Emily asked.

" Are you sure that you want this? you will not be a virgin anymore after tonight. "

Nathan took hold of her left hand and said with tenderness in his eyes
