3 Unexpected Proposal

Third person POV:

Ritwik is on the way to check his staff. He is taking supervision rounds of his staff and after checking them he come back to his family.

Ritwik stepped in the lounge and he heard Jenny ,“ Dekho Ritwikbhai bhi aa gaye.” (See, Ritwik bro had arrived)

“Kyu bhai, koi jaruri baat ho rahi hai?” asked Ritwik sitting besides Ruhani. (Is there anything important talk going on?)

“Aapke bina konsi baat important hogi!” Ruhani exclaimed. (what would be important discussion without you.)

“ Toh phir kya baate ho rahi thi mere piche?” Ritwik asked. (So what talks were going on my back?)

“Teri shaadi ki baat chal rahi thi.” Hemangini bua replied. (We were talking about your marriage.)

“Kyaa! Kyu? Ritwik asked annoyingly. (What! Why?)

“Kyu bhai? Shaadi karne ka koi irada nahi hai! Kushan asked Ritwik. ( Why? Don’t you have any intention to marry!)

“Kyu ji aesa kyu puch rahe ho mere puttar ko? Shaadi toh aaj nahi toh kal kar hi lega na.”Roshni told Kushan. (Why are you asking such questions to my son? Sooner or later he’ll gonna marry someone.)

“Chachi wohi Toh nahi pata ke kab shaadi karega.” Manav replied to Roshini ( That’s the question when he’ll get marry)

“Kyu bache ko pareshan kar rahe ho! Sab ne plan banaya hai usse pareshan karne ko?”Asha blamed everyone.(Why all of you are troubling my son! have you all made a plan to trouble him?)

“Humne kab pareshan kiya tumhare bache ko? Tumhara beta hume pareshan kar raha hai.” Kaushal told Asha. (When do we troubled your son? He is troubling us.)

“Mera bacha kaise pareshan kar raha hai? Asha questioned. (How my son troubling you all?)

“Vo humari choti bahu nahi lane deh raha” Kushan replied. (He is not allowing us to bring our daughter-in-law.)

Listening to these conversations niharika asked innocently,“Yeh bahu kya hota hay?"(What is the meaning of daughter-in -law?)

“Apke Ritwik chachu ki wife aur aapki jo Chachi banegi woh humari bahu hogi."Paramveer explained Niharika.(The girl who is going to become your Ritwik uncle's wife and your aunt, she will be our daughter-in-law.)

“Toh phir mujhe bhi Chachi chahiye" Niharika said with excitement.(Then I also want aunt.)

“Areeyyy aap log Nihu ko toh yeh sab mat sikhao" Ritwik said picking up Niharika in his arms.(Atleast don't teach all this things to Nihu.)

“Tennu jab shaadi karni ho tab karna, bas mere marne seh pehle kar lena." Paramveer said to Ritwik.(Whenever you want to marry do it that then only, but just do it before I die.)

Listening this Ritwik whined"Dadu yaar, chalo ab ghar chalte hay aap thak gaye ho."( Oh please Dadu, come on let's go home you are tired.)

Everyone left the private lounge and head towards the Oberoi Villa.Everyone is sitting in living room when Dadu informs about ishani's invitation for dinner, listening this hemangini get excited because she always liked Ishani for Ritwik. After sometime everyone retarded to there room to take some rest.

IN MEHTA MANSION

Everyone except dadi is watching TV and playing with viaan. Dadi is in her room taking rest.

Meanwhile Shekhar's cell rings and it was Tanushree (his sister), he picked up the call and started talking with her about her family's health and well being.

Tanushree told Shekhar that she wants to talk with Palak. Shekhar told Palak that her bua wants to talk with you. Palak took the call and started talking with her.

Palak - Jai shree Krishna bua!! (Greets)

Bua - Kem Che beta? Su kare che aaj kal? (How are you? What are you doing nowadays?)

Palak – Hu majama chu, aajkal papa na business ma help karu chu. Tame Kevu cho? Ghare Shanti che ne? ( I’m fine, nowadays I’m helping dad in his business. What about you? How are you? Is everything fine at home?)

Bua – Hu pan majama chu. Ghare shanti Che. Bau na ghare kyare aavanu thase ? Shiv and Aaradhya are missing you. (I’m fine too. Everybody is fine at home. When will you come at your bua’s place?)

Palak – I miss them too. Bring them here for few days we’ll have fun together.

Bua – They both are out of town with their friends for trekking trip. when they will return we will surely visit you.

Palak – Ok no problem.

Bua – OK bye. I have some work to do. We’ll talk later.

Palak – Bye bua, take care.

Then she disconnected the call.

It’s 5 pm, everyone expect Kavya and viaan gathered for evening tea and snacks, chatting with each other.

Shekhar is talking with his mother about the orphanage.

“What is the status of our Aashaiyen?”, Shekhar asked her Savitri

“Everything is fine, even 5 children were adopted last week and their studies are going well.” Savitri replied.

“That’s really nice of it, in anyway if you need my help tell me without hesitation.” Shekhar told his mom.

“Yes dadi, if you need any help from my side, I’ll always there for you.” Palak continued.

“Right now everything is going well. Whenever I need any of you I’ll definitely tell you and anyways Smita is there for me as my backbone.” Savitri told everyone.

“If everything is going alright, I’m really happy for this but don’t forget I’m always ready for help.” Palak said.

Meanwhile Kavya comes with viaan holding in her arms. By seeing Palak, Viaan is gesturing to take him in her arms. Seeing this Palak take him in her arms and started talking with him in his cute language.

“ Pa-lak Fe.” Viaan said with excitement and by listening his own words he started clapping and smiling. (In Gujarati bua is called foi and here viaan started pronouncing Fe)

Hearing him, Palak gives a million dollar smile and kissed him and said “ Kya viaan ne mere naam liya, Ek baar phirse bolna.” ( What? Did he just say my name? Repeat once more.)

But viaan didn’t say anything and smile widely looking at Palak. Seeing this everyone present there started laughing

Shekhar takes viaan from Palak and said,“ Aare bhai viaan ko aapne Dadu ko bhi pyaar karne ka mauka do! ” ( Oh please! Let his Dadu give him some love). Shekhar is tickling viaan and he is enjoying and laughing hysterically.

Kavya is much happier by seeing everyone adoring Viaan and by presence of viaan their mood brightens up. There Viaan said little cutely “ Da-di” (Grandma)and show his hands towards dadi and lean forward.

Listening this Smita take him in her lap. Kavya told Savitri,“ Let’s go! It’s time of our evening walk.”

Savitri said lazily ,“ Leave it today, we’ll go tomorrow morning.”

Kavya replied , “Dadi! Stop being lazy and let’s go. We are not going to skip it today.”

“OK fine! I’ll be there in few minutes and then we can go for walk.” Saying this Savitri goes in her room and after few mintues she comes and goes for a walk with Kavya.

After a while Smita and Palak started preparing for dinner and viaan is playing with Shekhar.

OBEROI VILLA :

It’s 7 pm. Everyone gathered in living room and they are being ready to go at Ishani’s place expect Ruhani and Jenny.

Manav said annoyingly to Dadu, “ Yaar Dadu, yeh ladies ready hone me itna time kyu lagati hai? ” ( Dadu, why these ladies take so much time in getting ready?)

“ Aare puttar, yeh koi aaj ki gaal nahi hai, yeh toh barso se chala aa raha hai! Teri dadi bhi itna hee vakht lagati thi sajne savarne me.” Dadu said with remembering those days and listening this everyone laughs.

(Oh son, it’s not a new thing, this has being going from years! Your grandma also took so much time for getting ready.)

“JENNY!! RUHANI!!, come fast” Manav shouted.

Listening his shout Jenny and Ruhani replied in unison, “Coming, wait a second.”

After few mintues they both comes talking and giggling with each other.

Seeing them Manav said, “ Kya kar rahe the? Itna time kon leta hai ready hone mein?” (What were you both doing? Who takes this much time to get ready.)

“Obviously, it takes more time to get ready.” Jenny replies.

Before Manav say anything Ruhani interrupted and said sarcastically ,“ Ha toh bhai, time toh lagta hai. Aapki tarah nahi k bas kapde pahene, Baal banaye aur nikal pade.” ( It takes time to get ready, we are not like you guys that just wears the clothes, sets their hairs and you are ready to go out.)

“Oh! Look at mom and chachi , they are ready on the time!” Manav replied to Ruhani.

“Ooye! Inki side lene ki koi jarurat nahi hai, yeh bhi itna hi waqt lagati hay lekin aaj jaldi ready hone baith gai thi." Kaushal said teasing them. (Hey! Don't take there side, they are also same it's just that today they started getting ready little early.)

“Aapne sahi gal karditi Bhaisaab, main dekhyasi ke aaj Roshni 5:45 ko ready hone lag gai thi." Kushan continued.(You are right brother, I saw Roshani started getting ready at 5:45.)

Both the ladies are glaring at their man and everyone is suppressing their laugh.

“Areee Ritwik tu kyu statue ki tarah khada hay kuch toh bol?" Dadu asked Ritwik.(Ritwik why are you standing like a statue say something?)

Ritwik said irritatingly “Dadu aap mujhe in sab chizo main mat ghasito, mujhe karna hi nahi hay yeh sab."(Dadu don't drage me in this, I don't want to say anything.)

Ritwik continued“If you all are finally ready then let's go or else I'm going alone."

Ritwik goes out without listening anyone and when he is out of there sight they all started laughing.

“Enough of this fun, let's go to Ishani's place."Saying this Hemangini moves out towards Ritwik.

After awhile everyone is seated in the car and head towards Ishani's place. After reaching there Oberoi's are welcomed by Grover's. Then everyone moved towards living room and they are chatting and catching up on different topics.

After sometime everyone move towards dinning room for dinner. They are having the dinner with little chit chat. On one hand Ishani is taking glimpse of Ritwik and on the other hand she is serving Ritwik's family.

After having their dinner everyone is moving towards living room but Ishani stop them and suggested that they should go and sit at her terrace garden. Everyone agreed and moved towards terrace.

Everyone admires her gardening skills and then they all got seated on the fancy chairs.

Everyone is talking and having Desert and chatting with each other and Ritwik and Ishani are sitting together and catching up on recent events.

After a while, Mr. Grover stands up from his seat and cleared his throat and gain everyone’s attention. Than he said looking at Paramveer and Kushan,“ I have an important thing to discuss with you all.”

He continued,“ We are friends from so long and also we have a really good bond between ourselves.”

Kushan interrupted,“ What do you mean?”

Mr. Grover head towards Ishani and hold his hand and take her to the place where he was standing before.

He said, “Main apni dosti ko rishtedaari me badal na chahta hu!”( I want our friendship to Kinship)

“Why?“ Jenny & Ruhani questioned.

Among everyone, half members of the family like Bua, Mom, Badi mom, Manav are happy to listen this thing but half members of the family like Paramveer, Jenny, Ruhani, Kaushal, Kushan and even Ritwik is not happy by listening this.

“What do you mean?" Kushan asked being confused.

“He is saying the same thing which you are thinking." Mrs. Grover said to kushan by standing up from her seat.

Listening to all these Ritwik stands up and goes to living room. Seeing this some of them got shocked. Ishani follows Ritwik to the living room and seeing everyone followed Ishani.

Everyone is present in living room and thinking that how to start a conversation with Ritwik or what to tell Ritwik?

“Why did you left from there without saying anything?" Hemangini asked Ritwik.

“Whatever decision you will take, we all are with you. No one is going to force you." Paramveer said to Ritwik patting his shoulder.

Ishani asked Ritwik going towards him and holding his hand , “ Kya main tumhare layak nahi hu?”

(Do I not deserve you?)

Removing his hand from Ishani’s grip Ritwik replied,“ Deserve ki baat aati hi nahi hai! Maine aesi nazar se tumhe dekha hi nahi.” (It’s not the thing to be deserve or not but I haven’t seen you from that angle.)

Ishani take a step back with tears brimmed in her eyes by listening those words of Ritwik and she said, “It’s okay! I understand.”

Glancing at last time towards Ritwik she ran away from there.

Seeing this Mr. Grover get little angry and he marched towards Ritwik and said sternly,“ Mujhe tumse aesi umeed nahi thi!” ( I didn’t expect this from you.)

Mrs. Grover stands beside her husband and said emotionally to Ritwik,“ Tumne meri beti ka Dil tod diya.” (You have broken my daughter’s heart.)

“Uncle aunty, I – I.” Ritwik stammers and he was not able to form words in this situation.

“ Beta, you don’t have to give any explanation of your decision. What you want , you have said already. ” Roshni said standing beside Ritwik and stroking his hair lovingly.

Listening this Ritwik give her sad smile.

Seeing this atmosphere in the house, Paramveer told everyone that they should leave now as the work for which they have called us is finished now.

Everyone left the Grover’s house and drive back to OBEROI VILLA. Reaching there everyone is seated in living room. Suddenly Hemangini started a conversation,“Tune kyu mana kar diya, Ishani kitni aachi ladki hai. Tere liye bilkul sahi ladki hai.” ( What have you done there? Why you reject the proposal? Ishani is a nice girl and perfect for you.)

Hearing this, Ritwik stands up and heads towards his room. Seeing this Paramveer tell everyone that no one will take to Ritwik regarding this because he has already given his answer and we should respect his decision.

Listening this everyone nodded their head and retarded to their room. After wishing everyone good night, Hemangini and Niharika left to their home. It’s gloomy and confusing Sunday for Oberio‘s.

IN MEHTA MANSION:

After completing the dinner, everyone is seated in living room, watching TV, chatting with each other about work and social gatherings. After sometime everyone retarded to their rooms to sleep. It’s a happy and family bonded Sunday for Mehta’s.
