60 Feel So Useless

Sheloah's uncle and Sir Erick carried Veon going to 7-Eleven. Sheloah and the others quickly put a cloth on the ground where the two adults would put Veon down.

Isobel went to Veon and she quickly unbuttoned his polo. They saw that there was quite a lot of blood on Veon's abdomen. Sheloah hid her face on Josh's shoulder. She was worried about Veon. She couldn't bear seeing him like this.

"Argh!"

Veon shouted as he tried to move but Isobel stopped him.

"Wait, [1]tol. You're in no condition to move," she said and she slowly touched Veon's wound to check on it and he suddenly reacted in pain.

"We need to clean this up before we stitch it," Isobel said and Sheloah heard her.

"What do I need to do?" Sheloah was willing to be Isobel's assistant so they could treat Veon quickly.

"Prepare the first aid kit. We need bandages as well," Isobel said and Sheloah acted quickly. The moment Sheloah returned to her best friend, she told the next procedure.

"I need to adjust Veon's legs. Knees up," Isobel added as she looked at Sheloah. This made Sheloah a bit anxious about Veon's condition.

"Sheloah, hold him down. I will move his body a little bit. This may hurt," she said and Sheloah nodded at her as she held Veon's arms.

Isobel adjusted Veon's legs up slowly. He groaned in pain and this made Sheloah furrow her eyebrows. She wished his pain would end soon.

"White cloth. Inside the first aid kit. Give it to me," Isobel ordered and Josh gave it to her quickly.

Isobel put the cloth slowly on his wound, not applying too much pressure. After she put the cloth, she put on some tape. Isobel sighed after. Sheloah looked at her.

"What's next?"

Isobel focused her look on Veon. "We will wait for the bleeding to stop. It's slowing down now. For now, don't give him food or water," Isobel answered and Sheloah nodded. Isobel stood up to stretch.

"We're not yet done." Isobel was getting the tools she needed inside the kit. "I'll stitch him up after I clean up his wound," Isobel added and Sheloah held Veon's hand tightly, telling him to hang on.

Sheloah looked very worried. She remembered a saying which said "one of the men's weaknesses are women". Because of Sheloah not being in a good condition, Veon was forced to fight in her position.

Isobel looked at Veon seriously. "This will hurt. Sheloah, just hold Veon down. I will start the next procedures," she ordered and Sheloah nodded at her.

They were in an abandoned hotel in Pangasinan. Since they've defeated Weapons of Massive Destruction, the group had a new leader.

His name's Geof. Turned out that he was kinder than their former leader, Ray. Geof gave Army of True Salvation the abandoned hotel for the meantime and had even agreed to share the resources with them.

The people of Weapons of Massive Destruction also shared the same hotel. Of course, Geof ordered not to attack anyone as well. But of course, there would be rebels in Weapons of Massive Destruction who did not really agree with Geof's leadership so Geof instructed his trusted friends to guard Army of True Salvation.

Sheloah was now inside the hotel room of her family, with Veon under their care. Most of them had to share rooms already since two groups were sharing the hotel. Isobel had given the instructions to Sheloah when it comes to taking care of Veon.

Sheloah was washing the bloody sheets that was used for cleaning Veon's wound. She had replaced the cloth on Veon's wound with a new one to prevent infection.

She started thinking of how great Isobel was at a very young age; considering that she had been self-studying medicine even in high school. To think that she would remember these steps and would even do it successfully under such pressure. She felt a bit jealous to see Isobel prepared for such situations.
