71 A Girl Walking and Singing

Geof's story ended. Tyler and Sheloah felt bad when they heard what had happened to him and his comrades. The thought that he did not have any choice but to escape saddened them because they remembered Veon's situation wherein he had no choice but to kill his parents.

Tyler put his hand on Geof's shoulder. "It's okay, dude. We understand you. At least now you're still alive and you're doing your best to fight for your life and the lives of your groupmates," he said and it comforted Geof. He smiled at him.

"That was why it led me to using a katana. I found this in one display from the mall and it was really a real weapon at that. I learned overnight and besides, I had lessons when I was a child that was why I can improve myself quickly," Geof said and Sheloah nodded at him, amazed.

"But," he trailed off. "I sometimes train in the cemetery, just near the gate. Once the zombies get too many, I prioritize my escape. But every time I train, I notice something. I keep hearing a girl's voice," he said and Tyler and Sheloah got curious. Geof looked at them. "A girl walking and singing in the fog," he said finally and the two felt goosebumps.

Sheloah quickly hit Geof on his back. "Can you stop!? You're scaring us," she said, thinking that he was joking. The two boys laughed at her.

"But it's true, though," Geof said and he jumped down. The other two jumped down also. "There's really a girl's voice," he added and he gave Sheloah her katana.

Tyler looked at Sheloah. "Are you going to train with that?" It was evident in his reaction that he was surprised and excited. Sheloah nodded at him and he squinted his eyes at her. "Do you know how to use that," he added and Sheloah smiled at him, confidently.

"Just watch and see," Sheloah said as she walked towards the zombies near them. Tyler was about to chase her but was stopped by Geof.

"Trust her, man," he said and Tyler was hesitant before he allowed Sheloah to go near the zombies for her attack. He started putting his silencer on his gun just in case.

Sheloah was in front of the group of zombies near them. Three zombies saw her so Sheloah prioritized on planning an attack against the three. The zombies started walking towards Sheloah and she just stood there, waiting for them to approach her. This made Tyler panic.

"Sheloah!"

Tyler shouted her name but Sheloah just ignored him as she closed her eyes.

After some while, she opened her eyes and the three zombies were already a few inches away from her. There was one zombie that was near her so she ran, her katana in her grip, and attacked the zombie in one, aggressive strike. It had successfully cut through his neck, beheading the zombie.

"Woah!"

Tyler exclaimed the moment he saw that. Sheloah's hand trembled slightly because she didn't expect that cutting a body part would be quite difficult. They don't define bones sturdy for nothing, indeed!

She saw another zombie near her so she kicked the zombie, knocking him down, and she focused on the other zombie that was still standing.

The zombie was about to attack her, but Sheloah successfully cut its arm off. She went behind the zombie, confusing it, and before the zombie turned back, the katana went through its head, making the blood gush out from its mouth. This made Sheloah twitch a bit, since she still feared blood. However, she still put her fear aside, and proceeded with cutting its head off.

Once it was successfully cut off, she ran to the zombie she just knocked down and she thrusted her sword on its neck, twisting it repeatedly until its head got cut off. Sheloah sighed after she had killed three zombies with the use of her katana.

"Damn, Sheloah! That was cool!"

She looked back the moment Tyler shouted in admiration. Geof looked at Sheloah, admiring her skills.

"I told you you'd do great. Soon enough, you'd be better than me. It's obvious that you were even enjoying," Geof said and Sheloah smiled at him.

"It's all thanks to you, Geof," she said, thanking him and Geof smiled back at her.

The three of them started killing zombies again until there could no longer be any zombies in sight. This made them tired, but it made them feel satisfied to know that they have done this together for their training.
