CHAPTER 19 : Maudsift classes 2

 Lily was super excited on her way to class but just as she was smiling, she saw somebody that made her angry. It was Lady Zia .

 " I know you feel like a winner now that you hit the bull's eye on your first try " she said arrogantly. That did it, Lily was going to give her a taste of her own medicine 

 " Really? I think the people who tell me what you just said right now are jealous " Lily answered in a polite tone that irked Zia 

 " Don't get your hopes high, it's just sheer luck, the same way you also got Rian "

 " Hmm, if that is the case, I must be lucky, the same kind of luck you wish to have but have never gotten "

 " What? " Zia scoffed 

 " Am I wrong? And one more thing, Rian is my husband now, know when to keep off, if you keep hovering around him you'll become a pest and I hate pests " and she started walking away 

 " Just because he's your husband does not mean I cannot become his wife , I've been with Rian for years, I deserve to be his better half " 

 " And I have not known him for years but I still became his wife " Lily said and shrugged her shoulders " Just an advice from a fellow lady, don't go around stealing people's husband , it's pathetic " Lily replied nonchalantly but deep down, she was scared. It was possible, Zia could do it. She decided to shrug off the negative thoughts .

 Princess Karina, Elma, Gwinn, Doric , Lady Rosamund and Lily were the only ones that advanced to Grade two in archery. Today they were going to shoot with two arrows in one bow, it sounded impossible. 

 " What's going to happen to the other ladies in grade one, lady Amstrid? " Lady Rosamund asked 

 " They would keep trying until they get here " Lady Amstrid answered 

 " Hey sister-in-law " Doric whispered ,she was standing close to Lily 

 " Hey, Doric " Lily replied cheerfully 

 " Awwww " Doric said and hooked arms around Lily's " My brother is truly lucky to have a woman like you in his life " she commented and Lily blushed 

 " You think? He seems to be fond of lady Zia " Lily shared honestly 

 " I know my brother Lily , he doesn't like Zia, they're just friends . He knows what Zia thinks of him but he really hasn't commented on it before "

 " Why? "

 " Because he doesn't like her , I can see it in his eyes that he has a thing for you " Doric smiled 

 " That's ridiculous, he just knows me for a brief period "

 " You don't need to wait for a long time to know the one for you. To be honest, my brother hated the way my father treated women, how he bedded them every night without caring about the feelings of the ones he married "

 " My father also does things like that too " Lily commented as she remembered how her mother cried because of her father's debauchery 

 " My brother vowed to never ever use women like that, he also promised himself to not marry more than a wife , so don't worry about Zia " 

 " Are you trying to say that your brother has never bedded any woman ?" Lily asked in shock, she was so sure he told her he had bedded a lot of women 

 " Not once " Doric shook her head and Lily was surprised, for a prince to not bed any woman was rare, she suddenly respected and admired him, he sure wasn't like any other prince she knew , she felt lucky that she married him. 

 " Doric and Lily, talking during class sessions is prohibited. Drop down, give me sixty-six " Lady Amstrid frowned and the ladies suddenly bent down to do some push-ups

 " One , two, three " they counted in unison while the other ladies tried to position their arrows properly on the bow.

 The library 

 Rian was flipping tirelessly through the pages of a book. Different history books were positioned in front of him . He had been searching for about an hour but, he still hasn't found what he was looking for. 

 " Is there something in particular you're looking for, your highness? " Dru, Rian's right hand man asked. He had been watching the prince for a long time and he knew he was troubled 

 " No, it's fine " Rian shook his head 

 Dru looked at his prince, he knew the prince was worried so he said " If there's a particular answer you seek, I'll recommend you visit a seer "

 " I thought they were banished by my grandfather for tempering with dark magic " 

 " They were, they are out in hiding. Rumour has it that they live in the valley of Ragno beyond the eastern sea "

 " How many days would it take to get there? " Rian asked, if people found out that he visited a seer, it would be very bad. He was willing to go extra mind to save Lily even if it meant risking his position. 

 " Six or seven days at most " Dru answered 

 " We leave at dawn " Rian said and got up.
