Lungmen Siege

*Glass_Break.mp3* A/N: Idk what onomatopoeia glass breaking has.

*Bang*

With the sudden sound of glass breaking in the distance, I was once again rudely awoken from a state of peace.

"Clukay, Reunion is besieging Lungmen!" Rimuru shouted, forcing me to instinctively reach for my rifle. I looked over to my side to see the time was NINE IN THE MORNING. This was too early.

"Why the fuck are they attacking so early…" I muttered as I rubbed my eyes and reached for my bag of ammo.

"Zhongli has boarded up the windows. Reunion is on the streets smashing every store they see. Luckily, they haven't noticed us yet. It seems that they're searching for something," Rimuru said as he moved to wake up Jinwoo on the couch.

"Well, I'll call up Kal'tsit. This will be a good opportunity to profit off the situation," I said as I put down my gun, realising that we weren't in immediate danger.

"It won't be long before they reach our store and breach Zhongli's boards. We need to get out of here fast," I hear Rimuru say as I rushed to get clothes to wear instead of my pyjamas.

Once I changed into my combat clothes, I rang up Kal'tsit on my phone. It didn't take a second before the phone was picked up.

"Hello?" Kal'tsit asked.

"Hey, Doc Kal'tsit. We're currently being raided by Reunion forces in Lungmen's outskirt suburbs. Do you want us for a job while we're here?" I asked as I unlocked the door of the bathroom and left. The rest of the gang minus Zhongli, who camped at the front door, was sitting around the room, patiently listening to my phone call.

"If you insist on getting a job, I'll warn you that it may cost your life. 500,000 LMD upfront, and in exchange, show me your combat capabilities by scouting the LGD Headquarters. I've got intel that Reunion forces have made it their stronghold, but I need to verify it," Kal'tsit said monotonously.

"Sure, we'll take it. We'll report to you with the walkie-talkie you gave us yesterday," I replied as I made sure my magazines were loaded. It was time for us to finish this damned quest once and for all.

Kal'tsit explained a few things about Reunion for an hour before she hung up. With some intel, we were ready to rock.

"Let's head out the backdoor into the alleyway," Zhongli said as he made his way back from the front of the office. We followed along with our weapons ready. Despite having three hours of sleep, there was plenty of energy to go around.

Don't question why we slept at 6 am.

Once we exited through the backdoor, we swiftly navigated the alleyways. Luckily, there was still signal, so I could pull up a navigation app to help guide us through the Lungmen streets.

"Zhongli, can you take out that guy?" I whispered, pointing at a Reunion member that was about to enter the alleyway. Guns were too loud, so I needed to rely on Zhongli and Rimuru to deal with enemies if we wanted to maintain our stealth.

"Damn, the LGD headquarters is a three-hour walk away," I muttered as the directions loaded up. This was going to take a while, especially since we needed to maintain our stealth.

"How about you guys hide inside of me?" Rimuru suddenly suggested. I looked at him with confusion.

"I meant that I could absorb you guys. I could switch to my slime form and make myself harder to spot whilst moving faster," Rimuru explained, clearing up the confusion.

"Sure," We nodded in agreement. Although it was a new and weird experience, we still trusted Rimuru to an extent. At least, I trusted Rimuru quite a bit.

Rimuru swiftly enveloped us as we agreed. The next thing we know, we were inside an endless dark space with a giant screen in front of us displaying Rimuru's vision.

"Ah, it seems I've gained a few new friends," A deep voice echoed. Turning around, I saw a FUCKING DRAGON. Today is filled with surprises, first Reunion breaks in from the slums, and now there's a dragon inside of Rimuru.

"Ah, don't worry! My name is Veldora, a friend of Rimuru," Veldora quickly explained as he saw us preparing our weapons. Without a cup of coffee to support me, I decided to not question it.

Fortunately, it didn't take long before we made friends with Veldora. He was a pretty chill dude with social issues and a deep love of Mangas.

With popcorn provided by Veldora, we watched as Rimuru jumped between buildings with my phone in his hand. It didn't take long for Rimuru to evade all of the Reunion soldiers and end up on a tall vantage point where he deposited us on the ground. It was a rough landing, but at least it was better than landing from an explosion's shock blast.

"It's good that I'm not covered in slime," I murmured as I dusted myself off.

"That should be the LGD Headquarters," Rimuru said as we approached him to look down from the rooftop. It was the LGD headquarters alright, but it was heavily armed with Reunion soldiers. The corpses of LGD officers scattered the streets, mixed alongside a few civilians. However, there were fewer casualties than expected considering how busy the LGD headquarters usually is.

"Oi, there's smoke over at the mall there," Rimuru pointed out as the sound of rubble collapsing in the distance echoed. I pulled out the walkie-talkie and quickly radioed Kal'tsit whilst keeping my eyes on the rising smoke in the distance.

"This is Clukay. We've arrived at the location. Reunion has occupied the streets and the LGD headquarters. There seems to be a fight in a mall nearby," I said as I looked at the rising smoke in the distance.

"That must be the LGD. Meet up and help them infiltrate the LGD's headquarters. Amiya and the Dokutah will arrive in a few hours," Kal'tsit responded.

"Roger," I replied as I put the walkie-talkie away. We took a quick break to renourish ourselves before we headed down to the ground level. However, just as we were about to reach the bottom floor, the stench of blood and human flesh reached our noses.

"Disgusting," I muttered as I tried to ignore the corpses that lay scattered around the floor. Jinwoo was on the verge of vomiting, but he managed to hold it in. Unlike Reunion, who had white masks to dehumanise themselves, the corpses of civilians were much more direct.

We quickly exited the building and faced the strangely empty LGD headquarters. It seems they've run away to face the LGD. Knowing Ch'en, I had no doubt that they would be arriving soon.

Sure enough, an hour later, Ch'en arrived with several LGD officers and Hoshiguma. At first, we were greeted with swords pointed at our heads, but Hoshiguma calmed the LGD officers down.

"I didn't expect to see you guys here," Hoshiguma said, surprised.

"Rhodes Island is our employer. We've been commissioned to help you retake the headquarters," I replied as I waved hello at them.

"We don't need any help, but you can follow along while you're here," Ch'en coldly said, appearing from behind Hoshiguma as she led the other LGD officers into the building.

"Sheesh, what a Tsundere," Rimuru muttered as we decided to follow along. The place had a massive renovation as bodies littered the floors, lights were broken along with windows, and graffiti covered the walls.

"Madame Ch'en, something's wrong here. Don't you think it's weird how we managed to enter the headquarters so easily? Their equipment is broken, aged and dull. It creeps me out how unprepared they are," One of the LGD officers pointed out.

"Indeed, there were quite a lot of Reunion soldiers when we first scouted the area," Jinwoo added.

"I've noticed it as well. However, they seem to be of no threat yet. Continue our advance," Ch'en replied as she continued to walk around.

"Madame Ch'en! Scouts have reported that Reunion's temporary command centre is on the roof," One of the LGD officers suddenly rushed into the room we were in and reported.

"The rooftop? There's a high chance that it's a trap," Ch'en muttered with a thoughtful look.

"I'll go with a small task force. There won't be enough space for all of us on the roof. Plus, I may need to go all out for this," Ch'en said as selected a group of ten, including us.

"Hoshiguma, I'll entrust you to search the rest of the base with the remaining forces," Ch'en said as she left.

"Sure thing, stay safe," Hoshiguma replied with a smile.

We followed Ch'en up a few stairs without any Reunion resistance. Not long later, we reached a fire exit door that led to the rooftop.

"I'll go first," Ch'en mutters as she unsheathes her sword. I also prepared my rifle as the others prepared their respective weapons.

"Good evening, madame. You charged straight into my trap alone like this. Should I call you brave or stupid?" A childish voice sounded from the other side. Reunion had a lot of child commanders it seems.

"You have nowhere to run, Reunion commander!" Ch'en shouted with a deep tone as we slowly emerged from the building.

"Ah, it seems you're not alone after all. Hmm... you, the Sankta. I've heard about you before from Talulah. She called you… what was it again? Ah, yes! A Columbian failure and a Traitor," The boy cheerfully said as he pointed at me. I raised an eyebrow at him, wanting to ask more about the titles this Talulah person gave me.

"That's right. You have Amnesia, don't you?" The boy laughed in realisation as I looked at him with caution. This boy was insane. I could feel it.

yes, and m8-8 made me insane.
