3 Greetings

*Kiyoko Sasaki's POV*

//April 13, 2040//Friday//

Finally, I reached Saitei University, and I was bewildered about the school's surroundings.

"There are no students outside?"

I checked the area outside, and there was no one around. Are there no classes today? No, that must not be it. I checked earlier and made sure that there are classes today. Hmmm… Maybe they are already inside?

"But if that is the case. Why aren't there any noises inside the university?"

I am hesitating to go inside the place but at the same time, I wanted to be optimistic. Maybe the school has soundproof, and noises can not be heard from the outside. It's an advanced school after all. I went to the entrance where there is a machine in front.

"Please place your thumb on the scanner for student identification."

This is amazing. The security in this school is top-notch.

When I placed my thumb on the scanner, the entrance to the school opened. I felt nervous, and uneasy from what I saw inside.

"There is no one here?"

I started panicking again while wondering if this is another dream because I do not want to feel that horrifying experience ever again.

Suddenly, someone patted my head.

"Are you okay?"

I screamed when someone touched me, then I quickly looked at my back to see who it was.

It was a student who have crimson red hair and yellow eyes. His eyes looked like a dead fish without any soul at all, and he is quite taller than me.

I am glad that someone else is here in this school, but I got angry at him for scaring me, and suddenly patting my head.

"Are you out of your mind?!"

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Why would you pat someone's head who you didn't even know?"

"Well… your whole body is trembling, and I just wanted to comfort you..."

"COMFORT ME?!"

This guy is crazy. He just did those things to me even if he doesn't know me at all. It is creepy to touch someone you just met, and this guy thinks it's just okay to do whatever he wants. He scratched his head and asked me a question.

"Sooo... Why are you still here? You know classes start at 7:30, am right?"

"Wha-what do you mean? School starts at 9:30 am."

"School starts at 7:30 am, and we are late for class. Did you not read the message they sent to you?"

I looked at the message the school sent to me, and the message says that school starts at exactly 9:30 am. Is this a fraud, or did I delete the original message that they gave? No, that is impossible.

"Well then, I'm off. Thanks for yelling at me earlier."

This guy. Doesn't he understand what he just did? He turned his back and started walking away. I guess he will be going to his classroom.

Who is this guy anyway?

"What is your name?" I asked.

The guy stared at me then pulled a bad finger, and walked away.

What a weirdo! First, he patted my head, and then he just pulled a bad finger at me?! How come someone like him was accepted into this university?

I do not have the time to be angry at him. I went straight into where my classroom is supposed to be.

This sucks. I'm late on my first day here at Saitei University. I took a deep breath before entering inside. It's already 9:50 am, and I am really late thanks to that guy.

But why did he tell me that classes start at 7:30 am?

I opened the door, and everyone was already inside. My classmates and the professor were all staring at me.

So I guess school really starts at 7:30 am just like what he said. I walked to an empty chair and apologized to the whole class for being late.

"I'm sorry for coming late on the first day of school!"

There are no excuses. To begin with, it was my fault that I was late. This is embarrassing. Why did I not think this through that the message I checked is fake? But if that is the case, why didn't I receive a message telling me that school starts at 7:30 am?

I looked at my classmates who I will be with for this school year. All of them were glaring at me, and they were sweaty. I am clueless why they are glaring at me like that. Are the students here really that competitive? Why do they look tense? The professor immediately asked for my name.

"Name?"

"Nice to meet you! My name is Kiyoko Sasaki! I chose to study Psychology here to learn more about people!"
