WEST AND LORE

Horses neighed, chariots passed by the roadside one after the other in an organized procession.

Many people stood and stared in awe, when the carriages passed it was as though time had stood still.

In the palace, everyone was moving in and out, slow fast. The interior was clean and beautifully decorated with fresh lilies from the West.

The King stood further talking to one of his subordinates while the queen, in her overflowing silk gown was shouting orders from the other part of the palace.

Ford stood quietly at the end of the staircase. He looked completely out of place and coincidentally this was also what he felt deep in his heart. He talked to no one and watched silently as all the workers hurriedly prepared the palace awaiting arrival of the guests from Lore Kingdom.

Lore Kingdom was towards the North. Their King Sebastian was a renowned figure and a celebrated warrior.

No matter how you thought about it, West Kingdom and Lore Kingdom were far apart yet they had conflicts amongst them. They were always at war with each other. This war dated years back and was started with something as simple as a grudge.

The then King of Lore's son was killed but a man from the West was found over the dead body. He desperately tried to explain that he was not the one who killed the Prince but the King already had anger cloud his heart and judgment.

For three days, he held a wake in the honor of his beloved son. It was three whole days of mourning and on the fourth day, he donned his armor and declared war and the cutting of ties between the two kingdoms.

The sound of hooves could be heard from a distance. The King and queen went up to their chambers to change and Ford had to do the same too.

The guests soon arrived. The Eunuch announced loudly their arrival.

King Sebastian exited the carriage. He was dressed in an overflowing sapphire coat. On his hands were the finest jewels and on his head sat a golden crown. His impeccable suit had on it an emblem, a sign of the Lore Kingdom. An air of arrogance and maturity danced around him and that face of his was exceptionally handsome.

On his hand he held a delicate hand wrapped up in jewelery of the finest form. This was his wife, Queen Jess of Lore. The stories of her beauty could not match up to seeing her in person. She was dressed in a black dress. It was long and on her head also lay a crown.

A younger woman stood by the side. Her face was beautiful and she was dressed to the moon. She had an air of arrogance around her. This was the princess Shaila of Lore

The door was opened for them and in light steps they walked up the staircase, elegant and steady, yet still graceful.

The King and queen of West stood at the other end of the staircase, holding hands and staring down at the incoming guests with a smile on their faces.

Ford also stood at the side. He was dressed in a blue suit,he kept his ornaments to the minimum. On his head was a crown. He was very simple yet sharp and clean and smart. The maids occasionally stole glances at him taking long looks at that face of his. Ford was exceptionally handsome.
