2 2: The beginning

Sun shined brightly as Aren made her way to the college. An enormous building stood there. Indeed, it was a beautiful campus with alluring gardens. Aren was always fond of greenery, and why not? Greenery reminded her of her grandma's home. Lush green and beautiful.

Aren's grandma, Mrs. Zay, was not alive anymore and Aren firmly believed that bodiless Mrs Zay was still there, in peace and immortal, as young Aren once read in her mother's diary.

'Miss Zay', a teacher interrupted the interwined thoughts of Aren.

Aren turned and looked at Mr. Mapek, her history teacher, 'Yes? Good morning, sir.'

'Today is the last date for the submission of your project file. Are you ready with it?'

'Yes, sorry. I may give it right away. Wait a second', Aren took out a file and handed it to Mr. Mapek.

The teacher hurriedly took the file and went away.

Behind him was a piece of paper on the floor which Aren could not help but notice.

A crescent moon was drawn upon it.

She, without thinking once, put the paper in her purse and decided to bunk classes and leisurely walk around the campus.
