The RADSTAINS retreat boosted the morale of the human army. Even though the cavalry gave chase but still...the quadruplets were faster. On top of that Laplace had an aerial view of the battlefield. He was like a satellite. He could completely observe the flow of the battlefield which was an unprecedented advantage in the medieval era when such concepts didn't even exist.

He quickly directed the RADSTAINS towards a hill. The reason was because there was a natural valley present which should be pretty concealed but it wasn't the only reason. If you exited from the back of the valley and travelled for an hour or two you would reach the rear of the LESVIP army camp...and obviously his reason for choosing that specific point of retreat was not peaceful.

..

.

A few hours later, the RADSTAINS reached the valley. Laplace commanded them to rest in an overly dramatic manner…

[REST MY CHILDREN]

[YOUR VENGEANCE SHALL BE GRANTED]

After saying that he seized all contact, placed the communication rune in the optimized space and decided to focus on the HALTEAR Army Camp.

Obviously, it was because he couldn't get that [VAMPIRIC SWORD] out of his head.

He quickly analyzed it and created a vampiric rune. This time it was a lot easier for a few reasons. The first being that he already had some experience and this time due to recent battle there was an abundance of souls and energy for him to utilize.

After creating it he received a few prompts from the space system:

[Operational runic pattern detected]

[Analyzing…]

[Analysis complete]

[An operational Vampiric Rune has been detected]

[Would you like to save this rune in the system database for future use?]

Similar,to the previous time he received a yes or no prompt. Of course,he choose yes.

Looking at the Vampiric rune Laplace couldn't help but think of the previous battle where the HALTEAR Army Commander easily slaughtered that RADSTAIN. That scene was deeply etched into his eyes. Now imagine if there were hundreds or thousands of those swords. You could probably sweep through the entire world. But Laplace quickly discarded that thought. There would obviously be something to counteract it.

But still...imagining that rune multiplied by a hundred or maybe a thousand…

Thinking along those lines,an idea suddenly hit him…

Laplace found his idea to be feasible and quickly started to act on it.

..

.

Meanwhile, the LESVIP Army Commander was pissed off.

'To think he had a Vampiric Sword...Fu°k!!!'

This battle had obviously been a gamble. If there was enough damage and chaos caused by the RADSTAINS then the LESVIP's could obviously take advantage and come out on top even if they couldn't burn their provisions…

But the problem was the HALTEAR commander. Not only did he have a hidden trump card. On top of that he was famous for being vicious and cunning in the battlefield.

He had obviously displayed these qualities of his when right after defending his own provisions he had sent a portion of his trustworthy mercenaries towards the LESVIP's provisions. Not forgetting to offer a reward of two gold coins which further raised the morale of those dumb mercenaries who obviously died in the LESVIP'S hands.

But the HALTEAR commanders objective was achieved nonetheless. He wanted to stall for some time and bring his own camp under control in which he succeeded.

..

.

HALTEAR ARMY CAMP

Commander's Tent

The HALTEAR commander was listening to his subordinate listing the amount of men lost in this battle.

They had lost almost roughly two hundred men. Only about fifty of them died on battle. As for the rest...as soon as they found the situation to be hopeless they deserted. They were after all commoners who were forcibly conscripted. But still this infuriated the HALTEAR Commander to a great extent. Thus,he sent out at least twenty scouts in different directions. It was for the sole purpose of capturing those deserters.

By sunrise most of the scouts had captured at least a few deserters and they were returning one by one with the deserters in tow.

..

.

Blue's eyes looked pale and listless. The man himself knew the price for deserting amd abandoning your comrades but it hardly mattered in front of fear and the imminent threat of death.

Even though he had escaped from death once it wasn't going to happen again.

The scene of those humongous monsters with redskins tearing apart humans like sandpaper had terrified him to no end.

Especially, the death of his former comrade and brother was killing him from the inside.

He had pushed him. Pushed him when those monsters were coming for him himself. It was a simple choice of surviving or not.

A choice of getting to live to see his wife and children or not…but...his dark red blood...the blood of his own comrade amd brother he killed...it just kept on flashing within his eyes...

While blue was lost in his thoughts the HALTEAR Army Commander personally came out and started to behead the deserters.

When it was finally Blues turn the commander looked him in the eye and with one clean slash beheaded him.

Just before dying his entire life flashed before his eyes...his father, mother, brother, children and that beautiful wife of his he was never going to see again.

Now that is the definition of war...

You get killed one way or the other.
