I felt my blood boil, at a ridiculous rate I could almost feel my body move on its own.
'Goddamn it, I can't just leave now.' I thought in dread, this was a scary situation but it has some importance.
I exerted my will to calm my boiling blood, and my body. I looked over at Teacher Elton who was protecting me, and I saw the mages recall the runes and get closer to the transmission gate.
"Knights keep track of your younger generation, and enter the portal," Aringer said as he walked through the deep black void, and disappeared.
Slowly but surely people passed through, then it was finally our turn. The transmission was quick, with no sights or sounds of any kind. When we reached the other side, it was a beautiful flatland with various wildlife. It looked like an immortal forest, blessed to forever be prosperous.
"O' my beloved son, return to me." I heard the voice whisper to me
Teacher Elton was in front of me, and behind me came Grandmaster Isaiah. We walked to the forest area a bit, where we stopped was just short of the forest. At the point, everyone regroups at the same point in front of the forest, from various parts of the grassland before it.
"Dante, does it appear here?" A grand knight said to Dante.
"That thing that killed Bernie?" Dante responded
"Yes." The grand knight said in anticipation.
"Leandre, don't try to avenge your older brother...." Dante said in an almost terrified tone.
"WHY!?!?" Leandre yelled out to Dante.
"Because we can't fight that thing, we just need to get past it," Dante said as he gripped his upper robe chest area.
Leandre muttered something under his breath, and indignantly stomped away. The mages finish redrawing the spell circle and planted the runes. This time the grand knights got just behind the restrictions They unsheathed their various weapons in preparation for an attack. A spear wielding woman looked at Leandre and shot him a look of caution.
"Listen to Dante, Leandre." She said in an icy tone.
"Carina, do you think you can tell me what to do?" Leandre said back in anger
Carina didn't bother to say more, but she made sure to keep an eye on him. I watched the dynamics of the various Rain figures, I felt a little detached from the struggles. Even a knight or a mage is just mortals, unable to see the bigger picture. In a way, the highest level knight is the most mortal man in the universe.
"It's coming shut up," Aringer said as he calibrated the restrictions some more.
Then he levitated into the sky, to get a better look at the situation. In the restriction, a gigantic tentacle flew out from the center. It almost cut apart the ground, but then Leandre charged his earth energy.
"Cage of Earth." He refined the strength of the earth to trap the tentacle. It couldn't be fully freed, and only had the hole that it made.
The tentacle swiped at the mages, who were concentrating on maintaining the spell circle. The surrounding grand knights charged with weapons with intent. They sent out a barrage of weapon qi attacks, that cut at the tentacles' support.
The ground trapping it, the circle weakening it, and the knights finally killed it off. The tentacle withered away under the barrage of attacks, nothing happened as the tentacle disappeared. It was similar to the claw from before, it was just a magical conscient, not the real thing.
'What kind of monsters are hidden here?' I wondered
"Knights are the vanguard now, mages will handle long range support, the younger generation is behind the mages." Aringer declared, he was the one with the highest authority, so everyone willingly made their groups.
Aringer was levitating in the sky, Dante leads the mages on the ground. Grandmaster Isaiah leads the grand knights, and they tacitly consented to his leadership. We took our first step into the forest, and a griffin swooped down with blood red eyes.
"SQUAWAAA!" It yelled out in a beast script, with my ever increasing exposure to beast script and incredible intelligence. I didn't even need Drrak to translate for me. I realized that the griffin was yelled trespassers in an angry tone.
No one else realized that instead, the grand knights sent their sword Qis at the Griffin. It was quickly cut apart, and soon after a few more beasts attacked the party; only to be completely obliterated in moments.
As we progressed across the forest, the terrain became darker and darker. We reached the end of the garden, the day had already turned to night. If one looked up in the sky, they could see various elemental clashes. The power of the gods, presented in all its splendor in the sky.
"What is this place?" I said out loud as I looked up at the vault of heaven
"An ancient battlefield some say," Hawkeye said to me, as he also looked at the skies.
At that moment, a massive angelic figure appeared in the sky. Opposite to it was an eye of darkness; it was a mass of tentacles and had an undying quality to it. It came from some sort of gate, its evil eye contaminating the very void it stood it.
"That's an Astral Devil," Aringer said as he descended to the ground, in this kind of place flying wasn't a good idea.
"Our cultivation will start to fall starting now." He said as he took the helm in leading everyone.
'Drrak, what's an Astral Devil?' I asked as I could feel the massive void energy on the thing in the sky
'A spawn of the void, they act as emissaries of its will. They deeply desire to control all spatial energy in the universe, often times pursuing all manner of beings to the death for that energy.' Drrak intoned in a cold tone, I felt drrak's eyes in my shadow watching that astral devil intently.
The angelic figure charged a beam of holy light energy. She sent the full energy at the astral devil, it resisted for a moment before it receded back into the gate only harmed a little.
"Archangel, but which one?" Aringer said as the angel disappeared
We walked deeper into the plane and noticed the massive craters all around. The concentration of energy was strange. To the edges of this pocket world, was an area of pure light and to its opposite was pure darkness.
In the next ring was nothing but void and finally in the next ring was the five elements! A land of floating rocks and powerful earth energy, a world of unending ice, a world of golden force based on gold, a world of intense divine flames in the form of purgatory, and finally a world of powerful wood energy in the form of a forest.
As I thought, I heard the voice call to me some more.
"You are getting closer, O' Son of Shadows." She said with affection to me
When we reached the floating land masses, we were carried up by the knights and mages. They stepped into space or levitated their way to the top. Teacher Elton reached his hand out to me, waiting for me to grip it.
But I didn't need help, so I stepped on the vacuum myself and walked up with the knights. Some of the people looked at me in surprise, especially in the younger generation. No one other than me could truly air walk, but some could levitate or take a few steps.
They looked at me, hoping that I would fall but their disdain was misplaced. I kept up with the grand knights as we reached the top of the largest land mass. The ground was extremely stable although it was levitating, I looked around and noticed a huge assortment of herbs. All filled with immense vitality and elemental power.
I looked over and saw a herb that I recognized, it was used by Gavyn's assassin the cursed Nirnroot. The scary part was the one that the assassin used was just 1 root. This was a full grown Nirnroot, with 7 roots in total the amount of power it holds is so much more.
I remembered the curse he used and felt my tattoo. I felt inspired by the cursed fire, to fix my foundations a bit. It would help quite a lot to harvest some of it. When I wanted to walk forward Teacher Elton stopped me and pointed me in the direction of the kingdom knights. They had already unsheathed their weapons and got ready.
"The suppression is about to start," Aringer said in a dreadful tone
"GAARAAVUUULAAAH." A large sound was transmitted throughout the ruins, I felt my inner and outer physique resonate with the sound.
My inner physique and outer physique quickly decreased their operational speed. My stats readily fell, I was back to being a level 10 in terms of stats. I even felt my magic power, spatial energy, and shadow force all fade away at once. All that I was left with was code and my sword heart.
