79 Ice Queen

With the 2 longans in my bag of holding, a few people gave me covetous looks. But they tried to hide their looks, playing it off as just looking. When I reached for my saber, Brian generated a small snow storm in his hand.

"I think that is enough, Lucas," Brian said in a calm and even tone

"Oh, and what have I done?" I said with a sneer but Brian didn't respond to me, I charged one saber with my intent. I abruptly jumped at Brian, he created an ice shield and guarded against my attack.

"Elemental abilities?" I thought as I cut at his ice shield, but it didn't work. I dodged back as soon as possible and he created an icicle storm hitting the places I stood. I guarded against the barrage of attacks and added my other saber into the combat.

'Drrak, how can he use this much elemental power?' I asked as I guarded against his icicle storm

'A pure mage can unlock elemental powers starting level 20.....but this kind of power isn't possible.' Drrak intoned to my ears.

'It is almost as if he was a mage in his past life.' Drrak said to me

'A reincarnation?' I questioned.

Drrak didn't respond, I was unsure why he didn't respond. But I just glossed over it and protected myself from the storm. When it finally ended I saw Brian's cold stare.

"No more warnings." He said with an angry face, although he knows about my supposed relationship with the demons. He still had a bottom line even if it involves demons.

I didn't want to risk my life, I was just setting my bottom line. Even if I truly used all my hidden cards, I wasn't sure I would even win. I may keep my life, but I would expose my deadly secrets.

I wanted to make it seem like I robbed them out of anger and not because I wanted what they had. The remaining people kept my items and moved away from the group. They started to argue amongst each other for supremacy and items.

I walked around the floating island, a heard the whispers intensify. Guiding me closer whatever was calling me, then they returned. Teacher Elton came by my side, and the group reorganized.

'Why was it so fast?' I thought in confusion

I looked at teacher Elton in curiosity, he saw my confused look and smiled.

"Must be surprised, but we need to go through a break some restrictions before we can truly enter the Heaven Gate." Teacher Elton said in a sage tone

"Heaven gate?" I asked in confusion

"Yes, Heaven's Gate, it is the final circle to the inner temple."

"We previously tried attacking the restriction, then a massive black fey beast massacred the expedition party. Leaving us with no choice to but flee, and leave the temple" Teacher Elton muttered in regret.

"But this time we left a few mages, to run a magic vessel restriction to handle the fey beast." Teacher Elton said in excitement

"Would it work?" I asked

"Chances are high, and even if it doesn't we can at least ensure our lives." Teacher Elton said with confidence.

'I gave them my theory of magic, and the best they got is lesser magic vessels.' I analyzed if I gave them my design it would further ensure my safety, but then they would have looked deeper into the idea of an elf hiding in the campus.

I focused on the restrictions in my stomach, ready to activate the acceleration effect. I had made this in preparation for a situation, that I needed a power boost immediately. Teacher Elton looked around and noticed the death stares I was receiving.

"Did you really rob them?" Teacher Elton said abruptly to me.

"....how did you know?" I said with a wry smile

"They are making faces like you took a candy from them." Teacher Elton said teasingly

"Will I get in trouble?" I asked in concern

"Well not with me or the other experts, but I would be careful to offend everyone." Teacher Elton sternly told me.

"I understand teacher, I'll try to be reasonable with them," I said as I held the fire of pride in my heart, I hate following someone else or being cajoled. But sadly life is about being lead until you are powerful enough to lead.

Even a top talent is but an ant until he becomes a top expert. The experts gathered Grandmaster Isaiah and a few mages lead everyone off. We went off the little floating island and went to a land of fire and brimstone.

It was extremely hot, lava drifted in and out, and between the crack of the ground, one could see a crimson purgatory. The sun was almost completely obscured by the ash and smoke, making this hellish purgatory truly terrifying. At the center of the purgatory was an active and large volcano that scaled to the heavens.

"Earth Domain," Leandre said as the lava and heat subsided around. I felt a powerful force pass through me and go past my surroundings.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the air cooled rapidly. The ground even healed, and each step would alter our very surroundings.

'What is this power?' I thought in confusion

'This is the power of a domain, only a grand mage has this power.' Drrak intoned in my mind, although I was in awe. Drrak seemed unimpressed but that's a given with Drrak.

"You really like showing off, Leandre," Jasmine said as she walked by him

"Only to beauties of course," Leandre said with a perverted smile, as he checked out Jasmine's fantastic curves.

"Hmph....seems like you hate your eyes." Jasmine said in a cold tone, Leandre seemed to shiver and focus back on controlling his domain.

'Do they ever stop?' I thought as I watched them flirt like idiots.

We approached the volcano, and a few mages stopped off here. They went their ways to the various parts of the volcano, I looked at Teacher Elton in curiosity.

"The Heaven Gate includes 5 elemental zones, Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, and Wood. There are various types of herbs found in each zone. But the main gate needs to be opened from the 5 places simultaneously for our purpose." Teacher Elton said mysteriously

"But they don't need to all be opened to enter heaven's gate, last time we used only the Earth gate to enter. But the beast was able to reach out with its real claw and almost wipe us out." Teacher Elton said, hiding the venomous hatred in his heart

'Wait are they actually going to do it?' I thought as my back became utterly cold with sweat.

'Drrak what are the odds, that they can seal the gates using the magic vessels; as the beast gets out limb by limb?' I said in haste

'It has a very high chance of success....as long as they do it with perfect timing.' Drrak said to me

We weren't brought to the herb garden of the Fire Gate this time. Instead, the experts left on their own and got the items themselves. We would be unable to survive on our own anyway, and the herbs would be too powerful for most of us.

So no one among the younger generation had any issues. But the teachers still distributed some herbs, I grabbed a few since they would complement my Longans. I had a plan to incorporate all that energy into altering my foundation.

We left and went to the water realm, the area was entirely flooded. It was a massive icy ocean, but scattered throughout was a few massive trees that partitioned the sky. At the center was a tree the size of the world, it seemed to hold up the heavens.

"The World Tree...." Teacher Elton said in a melancholic voice as he looked at the tree.

Jasmine walked to the front of the group, she charged up her energy and her eyes became like frost.

"Water Domain: Freeze!" She chanted as her energy dispersed throughout the area, the ground froze and the chaotic water element in the air calmed.

'Fire to an extreme brings death, water to an extreme does the same.' The trees that survived only did, because they fit this area. Just like at the fire gate, where some herbs fit the area. We walked on the ice over to the world tree at the center.

I looked at the tree, and up close realized the sheer size. Even if I tried I couldn't reach the top as I am now. Up close I feel the true nature of this tree, it wasn't created from wood essence. It was formed from water essence, making it completely unlike the Fusang. The Knights went up by themselves once again, leaving us with the Ice Queen. Soon after they returned and distributed some more herbs.

At this point, I had enough to create some useful potions, with the two elemental Longans as the main ingredients. We would be going to the light realm next to collect more herbs, but I knew how dangerous that would be for me. I am fundamentally a being of shadow, being there would endanger my life.

"Teacher Elton may I stay here and meditate?" I asked in an enraptured voice, I wanted to project the illusion that I had been enlightened

"Oh, were you enlightened by the realm?" He asked in a happy and curious voice

"Yes teacher," I said as the sword on my Glabella just happened to shine.

"Well, Ice Queen is set to stay here just stay with her then." Teacher Elton said to me in a happy tone, he walked over to the Ice Queen and spoke to her.

She nodded her head, and casually looked over at before going back to meditating. The other experts departed of the light realm, and I sat down on the ice close to the Ice Queen. She kept her eyes closed as she meditated and Ice Spirits circled her.

I watched her revolution of Ice energy interested, she had sealed her perception to meditate without any issue. When I realized that I knew, that this was my best moment to see a Grand Mage's training in magic. I activated my magic eyes and noticed the revolution of an icy blood energy in her body.

As my control of magic increased, I could activate the runes in my eyes without using my elemental brandings. I took out my notebook and drew a chart quickly to capture the magic revolution in text. I couldn't help but start chuckling, at how lucky of an opportunity this was; even if there was some risk.
