5 Part 4 - Unfortunate News

Heavy hard pounding, metal clanking, and the sounds of it forcefully hitting the hardwood floors. Powder was angrily kicking the frame of her bed and destroying all of her explosives that didn't work.

Her eyes seemed filled with pain as she continuously hit her bed frame and destroyed things around her til the point where she was out of breath.

A hand was then suddenly and gently placed over Powders, causing her to flinch and stop her emotional outburst. "You okay there?" Vi asked while hovering over Powder with a gentle smile.

Powder slowly moved her shoulder where Vi had her hand place and turned her back towards her. "Why..?" Powder questioned while facing the wall in a criss cross sitting position.

Vi raised an eyebrow while closely paying attention to Powder. "Why what?"

"Why didn't you defend me against Mylo?" Powder wept out before sniffling and wiping her nose.

"Ahhh that? I was about to but Silver came in and defended you right when I was about to." Vi explained with a smirk while looking at Powder. She then sat down close beside Powder.

"...Really?" Powder mumbled with a slight look of shock.

"Yup! He stormed in there and told Mylo off! You should've saw him! It was kind of cool if you ask me." Vi revealed while looking at the ceiling positively.

Powder was looking at Vi the entire time she was talking. She was looking as if she didn't believe it, but she also seemed happy from those words because somewhere deep down, she believed it.

"Yeah, he's the one who told me you'd probably be upset since you were listening...You know Powder I'm sorry I didn't defend you though..really I was trying to contain my anger for him so I wouldn't explode but you shouldn't let his comments get to you. You're a lot stronger than you think, and I have no doubt in my mind that you'll grow to do amazing things." Vi spoke with confidence as she had a comforting hand placed onto Powders shoulder.

Powder stared at Vi as she spoke. Her eyes seemed to be lit up with hope again. "You know I got these blue crystals from that place we broke into? I'm not sure what they do but they could be useful?" Powder said before showing Vi a bag full of bright blue crystals.

Vi looked at them in curiosity but also slight worry. "Ah? And you're not sure what they do?" Vi asked.

"Well..just don't do anything crazy with it. You got this" Vi said in confidence.

While they were both staring at eachother with smiles, suddenly Silver and Lucy came barging into the room in complete urgency. Both of them were out of breath, causing Vi to stand up in worry.

"You're working with them?! Not only that but they took little man!" Vi yelled out at Vander who was standing right in front of her. Earlier when Silver and Lucy barged into the room, they told Vi that Ekko was taken by enforcers and that Vander was working with a woman Grayson.

"How could you let that happen?! You're supposed to be our leader! Lead!!" Vi screamed out in raging fury and worry for what was going on.

"They took Ekko?" Vander questioned with a angry and confused face. Vi didn't respond with a question, but only a serious look staring right at Vander. He knew what that meant.

"Vi..you're a great leader. You have the potential to be even better than me..I do all that I've done to protect you all and nothing more. This?" Vander grabbed Vis hands which had bloody knuckles on them. "This isn't always the way do you understand me? With time you'll understand that..but for now, I'm going to fix this." Vander stated confidently with a serious frown.

Vi watched Vander closely before looking at her bruised hand then up at the starry sky.

While that took place, Silver, Mylo, Claggor, and Lucy were sprinting as fast as they could through the ruins of the undercity. Kicking up puddles as they stepped while heavier and larger footsteps followed behind them.

"Stop right there!!" An enforcer yelled out to them In a demanding tone.

"Where's Powder?!" Lucy yelled, questioning the others as the enforcers footsteps grew closer.

"She's back at the restaurant, don't worry she's safe!" Claggor reassured as they continued running.

Silver then noticed to the right of them a downhill area where they could escape to. "This way!!" Silver screamed before turning to the right and sprinting down the alleyway.

What laid ahead of him seemed to be giant hill that would drop them down to their immediate deaths. "H-hey Silver are you sure about this!" Mylo blurted out in fear.

"Yes, trust me!" Silver said with a smile before jumping over the edge with everyone else to escape the enforcers. The kids screamed in fear of falling to their deaths as they were all going down.

Suddenly they landed in a bunch of plastic bags filled with trash to support their fall. When the enforcers came to the edge of the cliff they pointed flashlights to see where the kids were going but they saw nothing.

"Damn it they got away.." one of the enforces growled out.

"Don't worry..we'll find those kids eventually. Vander didn't want to comply and turn in the kids, so every kid we see our now suspects. We'll raid the entire undercity like Grayson demanded." An enforcer calmly said before turning back and walking away from the cliff.

Silver looked shocked and worried for the others. "So that's why they took Ekko..they're going to interrogate him." Silver said to the others while being surrounded by all the plastic trash.

"This is bad, this is really really bad" Mylo gulped out.

Silver clenched his fist and teeth before getting out of the trash and storming away. "Damn it!" Silver yelled to himself while sprinting as fast as he could.

"Silver wait up! Claggor and Lucy demanded before chasing after him from worry.

While that was taking place, in the uptown of Piltover, Viktor and Jayce were beginning to make their way inside of the library to make the inventions work.

"We need to be really quick with this or we will be caught and we don't want that." Viktor told Jayce while they were sneaking around in the dark hallway with a flashlight.

"And what do you think you're doing?" Mel, once of the council members confrontationally questioned while standing over the two.

"Damn it.." Viktor mumbled before Jayce stood up and walked in front of Mel.

"We're going to make my invention work..just a few tweaks and we can change the way piltover thrives." Jayce argued while looking at Mel.

Mel didn't seem easily budged. "Despite what happened at the trial, you're still trying to go through with this? You know the other council members aren't pro magic. They're heavily against it, actually." Mel explained while Jayce and Viktor listened.

"There's always obstacles..just because someone is against another thing, that doesn't mean that thing is bad..and plus, you don't seem to hate magic all like they do." Jayce stated and after that, the three of them stared at eachother in silence.

Suddenly, the three heard a guard approaching the corner of where they were.

Mel looked at the direction the guard was coming from before sighing and looking back at Viktor and Jayce. "One try..if you fail then this means banishment for the both of you, understood?" Mel asked while staring deeply at the two. They nodded their head so Mel went off to distract the guard from patrolling that area.

That's when Jayce and Viktor urgently put their keys into the door of the library and went through.
