48 Scribing Healing Seal

Lan eyed the pile of gold coins casually and chuckled, "A young man like you carrying so much money isn't afraid that I'd take advantage of you, seeing as you walked into the den of an assassin? Tell me why I shouldn't kill you right away."

"Because I only brought these gold coins for the advance payment," Chen answered.

Lan's grin widened, "Clever! But it's best if you give me another reason. Sometimes I work for money; other times, not so much. For your safety, it's best that you don't assume that I just want that bit of money."

Chen hesitated for a moment before revealing his true intentions, "My name is Chen, Chen Huashan. I'm a disciple of the Houhui Sect and have connections with powerful immortal families. If anything were to happen to me, they would surely avenge me. Plus, if you successfully complete this task, I can assure you that there will be more opportunities for us to work together in the future."

Lan considered Chen's words carefully before responding, "Alright, you've convinced me. But remember, the consequences of taking this path are severe. Once we proceed, there's no turning back."

Chen nodded firmly and said, "I understand."

With the agreement settled, Lan extended his hand for Chen to shake, sealing their dangerous alliance. As Chen left the tavern, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension. He had just hired the Whispering Shadow, one of the most feared assassins, to eliminate his rival.

Months have passed since Chen's meeting with Lan.

In the Huohui sect Frost Peak's reputation had soared to unprecedented heights, rivaling even the most prestigious peaks within the sect.

The sudden rise in Frost Peak's status attracted many esteemed educators, who came to visit, bearing lavish gifts and showering praises upon Yuan and Fairy Ling. The young scribe found himself at the center of attention, receiving the full honors and treatment befitting a Level One scribe.

One of the visitors to Frost Peak was Educator Jin Yun, a well-known healer of the Huohui Sect. He had heard of Yuan's exceptional skills and wished to request a Level One healing arcane seal. Upon hearing his request, Fairy Ling informed him that she had no control over who Yuan created seals for, but she would be happy to pass the message along.

Fairy Ling sent her apprentice Mei to inform Yuan of Educator Jin Yun's request. Yuan, now more confident in his abilities, agreed without hesitation. With Mei's departure, Yuan set up to work on creating the arcane healing seal.

This time, Yuan utilized arcane paper as the medium for his creation. He began by carefully drawing the necessary sigils, each line, and curve precisely crafted to ensure the highest level of effectiveness. Next, Yuan inscribed the corresponding runes, imbuing the seal with the power to heal.

For the summoning process, Yuan called forth a spirit beast known for its potent healing abilities. The majestic creature, called a Luminescent Peryton, appeared before Yuan, its horns glowing with a soothing light. Yuan channeled the energy from the Peryton into the arcane seal, capturing the essence of its healing power.

Finally, the transmutation process began. Yuan meticulously worked on the structure of the seal, adjusting and fine-tuning it to maximize its potential. His concentration and skill were unwavering as he completed the final step in crafting the Level One healing arcane seal.

Yuan handed the completed seal to Mei, who delivered it to Educator Jin Yun on his behalf. When the healer received the arcane seal, he was astonished to discover that it had an astounding 85% effectiveness. In contrast, the seals created by Scribe Qin only had a 45% effectiveness. Overjoyed with Yuan's work, Educator Jin couldn't help but share the news with his fellow educators during their next meeting.

Word spread quickly throughout the sect, and soon other educators came to Frost Peak with their own requests for arcane seals. Yuan, ever obliging and eager to prove himself, crafted seals for each of them. To the delight of the educators, Yuan's seals consistently demonstrated an effectiveness of 85% to 90%, far surpassing Scribe Qin's 40% to 45% efficiency.

While the sect was discussing a new scribe, Yuan was busy working on his own goals.

Night had fallen over the Houhui Sect, casting a veil of darkness and tranquility upon the grounds. Stars sparkled above, their celestial light only slightly illuminating the buildings below. In the sect's main hall, the Principle sat in his study, still awake and engrossed in his work. He was carefully examining the details of a new arcane seal that Yuan had created for one of the educators. The seal held great potential, and the Principle found himself fascinated by the intricacies of its design.

As he was deep in thought, there was a sudden knock on the door. Without looking up, the Principle raised his hand, and the door opened up before him. He glanced up to see his apprentice standing at the entrance. Behind the young man, Yuan stood with a respectful expression on his face.

The Principle gave a nod of acknowledgment, and his apprentice left, closing the door behind him as Yuan stepped into the study. Once Yuan was inside, the door shut closed with a soft click, leaving the two of them in the dimly lit room.

Yuan walked forward and bowed deeply to the Principle, who returned the gesture with a slight nod. Silence filled the room for a moment before the Principle finally said. "I don't know how you found out about what you found out, but I would suggest never telling anyone about it, or you and the sect both will be in trouble."

Yuan straightened up and nodded solemnly, his voice firm as he replied, "I will not speak of it to anyone."

The Principle studied Yuan's face for a moment before asking, "What brings you here, then?"

"I want to learn the illusion doppelganger and the spatial thread techniques," Yuan replied, his gaze never wavering.

The Principle's eyes widened in shock, and he hesitated for a moment before responding, "You are a very talented scribe. You shouldn't get distracted. Besides, you are an apprentice of Ling's; I cannot take you as my apprentice."
