5 So it begins... (pt. 1)

I stood unfazed as Dr. Hemmings made a rundown on the smiling corpse lying on a metal table in front of us. I might have even mistaken the person's death a happy one, if not for the unusual autopsy report he's briefing me about.

"...there was no sign of struggle, but I found this torn piece of cloth loosely tied beneath her hair. It doesn't match with any of her clothes nor the garments on the crime scene. The culprit must have unknowingly left this, convinced that this was already useless." He moved across the table grabbing a magnifying glass on the process.

Clearing his throat, he ushered me to come closer so that I would have a much clearer view.

"To tell you honestly, I have never encountered this kind of peculiarity before and–" He paused. Seemingly conflicted if his next words will affect his career or not. He then stared at me and shrugged.

"The cut was wonderfully done." He handed me the magnifying glass and guided me to where the said cut was located.

The wound was so thin that I would have doubted Dr. Hemmings' words or that he had only imagined it. The cut was expertly traced several millimeters from both the person's pelvic bones. I frowned tearing my gaze from the wound to the person's bruised neck.

Straightening up, I made a calculated look on the forensic pathologist across the metal table, already knowing what he was about to say.

" COD? "

"Death due to grave cardiac arrhythmia which was probably triggered by strangulation."

"So I assume this was a post mortem work. " I stated, pointing at the cuts on the person's hip.

" You just hit the G-spot there, mate. " An unwelcome yet familiar voice chimed in.
