11 Jane Doe...and the eyes (Ch 3.Part 4)

Shaking.

My hands were shaking.

I do not know what for or why, but I was feeling mortified and my breaths were as shallow as the waters on the shore.

And it was not only that. I was in an unfamiliar place walking hurriedly but with no-where to be in mind. I saw familiar yet unfamiliar men and women lying helplessly on the wooden floor around me; large amounts of crimson liquid were flowing underneath them. I could barely noticed the stream of waters coming from my eyes as I pushed the wooden doors for min exit. My mind was telling me that I do not know these people but my heart mourns for them.

Outside, the rain was pouring heavily and I couldn't vividly see what's beyond my way. Still I kept on running. My floor length clothing was already soaked and it clung tightly on my skin. The cold was already taking its toll on my body.

My heart beat faster when I heard someone called my name. The voice was getting nearer and nearer even though I already picked up my pace.

I let out a soft sob. I had never felt like a lamb being sacrificed for the sake of being a lamb than this moment. I felt vulnerable, helpless. With all the exhaustion and trauma , I knew I couldn't fight off whoever was after me.

I heard a shrill came out of my mouth but it was muffled by a hand that covered it in an instant. I unknowingly bumped into the person who was holding me tightly.

"Lady! " I heard her say just above the noise of the pouring rain.

From her voice, my mind told me who she was, even though it was my first time seeing her. Adelaide, my personal seamstress. She looked in pain and panicked.

"You must return on your route! He cannot know that you are still breathing! " she tried her best to finish her sentence even though it was not hard to see that she was struggling.

I wanted to say something to her but she kept her hand tightly on my mouth.

"Make haste Lady Reya!" she heatedly whispered as she pushed me to return back.

"Make haste now! "

I reluctantly took a step back however I didn't take my eyes off her until she ran back from where she came from. I was already shaking from cold and I knew I was not running anymore. My throat was burning and I felt that my feet will surrender at any moment now.

I stoped my tracks abruptly when a hand pulled me to an embrace. Fear crept through me when I realized that it was not my seamstress who held me. My assumption was verified when the person lowered his head to meet mine.

The blue orbs that held my eyes imprisoned, were mesmerizing yet taunting me. Then I felt something sharp behind my back as the man's familiar face inched closer to mine.

"Please, Reya, " he said in a raspy voice. His lips touching mine.

"Don't make haste."
