29 Rumour MR

~

"No not them, don't kill them, Anderson!"

Two guards look grateful to me, the person that almost cause them to die.

"Then tell me who Raul?"

"... It's not something that you can help using violence, Anderson."

"Then I can't help you, Raul."

"Y-You are too blunt Anderson…"

"That's mostly the reason I am unable to rank up anymore Raul."

Oh, so that's the reason why the commander is still able to stay in his rank even though Anderson is much stronger than him, concerning strength. Though Anderson can't you at least try to help your husband instead of just giving up?

I am supposed to be depressed not you though Anderson. After telling me the reason that she couldn't get up rank, she became depressed.

"Anderson, I don't know whether this could comfort you but isn't the reason I met you purely because of the fact that you didn't feel able to become a commander?"

"…!"

"At the same time, you could quit your job anytime while if you are a commander, the highest rank, you need someone to overtake you before you could retire."

"R-Raul… Thanks. That help a lot. Even though I am supposed to be helping you. Do tell me what's on your mind."

"Hmm, my reputation is getting worse…"

"I thought you wanted it to be that way?"

"…"

"Did I make a mistake? But you always tried your best to give trouble to yourself. Be glad Raul, it seems the current words are going around that you have created a plan to make super soldiers."

How did it spread so fast… I am only building an orphanage though.

"Even though I build that to give out my goodwill."

"Well, to be honest, you are still a naïve person Raul."

"What do you mean?"

"It's normal for people to ask for money as a reward, not to ask the king himself to help you build an orphanage."

"What's wrong with that? Moreover, how did... The king told everyone about it?"

"...He got drunk, so he told everyone in one of the ceremony."

"W-What the…"

"Most of the people there got suspicious about your rewards, after seeing how you help to research with the help of Princess Amanda, they agreed on the fact that you are pretending to build the orphanage while slowly do experiments on the children that you took in."

"The king isn't doing anything to stop this?"

"Why should he? He won't do things that will make his reputation to fall. What are you to him anyway?"

"Probably his revenge for taking his daughter."

Anderson nudge me at the shoulder.

"What's your plan next then Raul?"

"…Sigh* None."

"Hmm?"

"I could use that reason as a base so that people won't take advantage of the fact that I am building an orphanage. My plan to make a school could also be fulfilled. At least I could make all of the children more educated."

"But Raul, you aren't able to write or read."

"... Yeah, I need to start learning. I am planning to change the number system in this world though."

"By the way where were you going?"

"To buy furniture for my orphanage?"

"Let's delay that for a moment. I want you to meet up with a blacksmith that I know."

"Sure"

It's not like my orphanage going to disappear anytime soon. Emelia that suppose to be going to the blacksmith started to sidetracked and she went to a few shops as it attracts her attention. I didn't mind, but the fact that she pulls me all over made me more worry about how everyone was starting to stare at us.

But after looking at Emelia smiling face, it seems as if my worries went poof. To be honest, it's fun doing window shopping like this. I don't recall when have I enjoyed walking around and looking at shops without thinking of buying anything.

At the same time, this is my first date with Anderson. It's surprising how most of the storeowner greet her as she passes by their shop. Only after one hour or so passes that we reach the blacksmith shop.

The owner of the shop is a dwarf. Come to think of it. I rarely see any other race. This kingdom mostly consists of humans. There aren't demi-humans that are walking in the streets.

"Greetings, Robahk!"

"Oh, Anderson! I didn't expect you would pay a visit. Did the sword that you bought has problems?"

"No, no. I would like to introduce my husband to you."

"H-Husband?"

"Nice to meet you Robahk. My name is Raul Evergreen."

"O-Oh! My name is Robahk! Such a long name you have there."

"Just call me Raul, Evergreen is some sort of my family name."

"Family name huh? Alright, Raul, I hope you take care of this Anderson well alright?"

I nodded my head and turned to Anderson, asking her what's her goal for introducing us.

"Before I forgot, Raul specialize in creating weapons. I would like for you to see whether the durability of the swords that he creates can be used to kill the monster in the long term."

"Durability? What material does he use? Copper? Iron?"

"Bones."

"Huh?"

I took out one of the swords from my inventory system and passed it to him. He wasn't particularly shocked about how I own an interdimensional item box. He was more interested in the weapon that he was holding.

"H-How…"

"…?"

"How did you shape the bones into making it this smooth and sharp!?"

"It's my trade secret."

"How is it Robahk?"

"I need to try it out first."

"Sure."

Robahk swings the sword a few times, in which he tried to cut various materials to test the sharpness, finally, he applies his magic power on the sword in resulting in the whole room is illuminated. For some reason the guy started crying, he turned to me and gave me a bow.

"T-Thank you for showing this to me. Anderson… You still remember the promise from that time."

"Of course! How could I have forgotten? When we made our promise together? I already fulfill mine."

After glancing at me, Robahk started laughing as if the scene just now was just an act.

"I didn't think you were able to fulfill yours at all. Hahahaha"

"Hey! You told me it's a good one!"

"I can't believe my ridiculous goal was also achieved by you. Hahahaha"

Anderson and Robahk started talking as if they are the best buddies. That's a surprise. I didn't expect she would have such a close friend in this kingdom even though she had such a rough past. Sigh* What am I saying, I don't know her long enough to judge anything about her.

"You have an interesting husband though."

"Yup!"

"He has no discrimination against me even though I am a dwarf."

As expected, there's discrimination against other races. That's probably the reason why there aren't many other races in this Kingdom. Hmm, should I have gone to another kingdom, my life probably won't be as peaceful as this? I don't even know about the history of this world. I should have asked about these important things.

Why didn't I even think about these things? I don't even know the god and goddess that the people believe in.

"Will I be hated if I were to go to a demi-human kingdom?"

"Hahaha, not as bad as here. I heard the human that was summoned is happily living there though. I think it should be fine if you didn't make any of the demi-human a slave."

"Oh… Too late. Sorry, Raul."

"What happen?"

"There are some complicated things happened and Raul is now an owner of a demi-human slave."

"Then I suggest that you shouldn't visit the demi-human kingdom. You might be killed."

"...… Sigh* Just my luck."

"Don't be too harsh on yourself Raul."

"Hahaha, at least you manage to get a dependable guy like this Raul!"

"Yeah… Thanks"

I was just about to try to explore other kingdoms after my orphanage has been stabilized. Now I would need to think twice before going anywhere.

"Now let's discuss something serious."

"Sure, go on."

"How much money would you get if you sell this on auction?"

"Hmm, the sharpness and the durability of the sword alone could get you fifty thousand gold coins. I haven't even included the ability to store magic power and how even a magician could easily equip this. There are even a couple of magic circles I see here. A total of six hundred thousand gold coins might be more as there are only a few of these swords."

"…"

"A national treasure."

"Do bear in mind that kingdom might declare war because of these particular weapons."

"Then what if I tell you that there are various conditions that restrict the use of the sword?"

"What do you mean? I could strengthen the kingdom's relationship."

"How are you going to do that?"

"Give them one of each so that they could survive the invasion without many casualties."

"They might kill you in return. Don't forget they would know if you have enslaved someone."

"… Then make them sent a representative."

"Your plan could create chaos in the different part of the Kingdom though?"

"Eh?"

"I doubt they would be risking their royal life to come here, who knows there might be a trap."

"… Oh well then let's postpone this idea. If someday I were to visit their Kingdom, then I would pass it to them."

"How many swords have you made in total Raul?"

"…"

"From the way you look, it isn't just a few swords. Don't tell me. I don't want to know such knowledge that could lead me to death but remember, the moment you reveal this to the public there's no turning back."

"I agree…"

"Then we are done here, take care Robahk."

"Nice meeting ya."

"Take care guys, hope you don't make the wrong step."

I say my goodbye, and we slowly walk back to the palace. We didn't say any word, and only after we reach my room, Anderson kiss me on the lips in which she told me that she needs to make a report to the king.

Is it the part where the King wanted us to make fifty swords to be distributed to the soldiers?

Or the price of the sword itself that could rival any of the low noble finance?

I even forgot to purchase the furniture that I suppose to be doing.
