64 Preparation for war

"Amanda? Nice timing, I would like to apply something in the illusion room that is under your room."

"Welcome back dear, illusion room is it?"

"Ah, I'm home dear. Yes, there is something that is going on in my mind."

"Dear, Have you had your lunch? Do you need me to cook for you something?"

"Ohh! You cook?"

"I know a little bit of here and there."

"Dinner then! I have eaten lunch but I will definitely be clear for dinner."

"Tch"

Hmm? Who said that?

"I'm glad, I hope you like my food."

"Hahaha, do taste it before passing it to me."

"Dear, you are so mean!"

"How is the situation outside?"

"I would have like to say that we manage to avoid kind of situation but it is still worse than we have expected."

"Don't worry dear, when the time comes, I will be able to stabilize the population with the plan that I have thought the economy of the kingdom can't be help. I do not have the power to come out things from the illusion room after all."

"It's alright dear, I am already satisfied with the current situation. Without you, we might have to act by raiding other kingdoms."

"Robinhood!"

"Sorry dear, I didn't catch that."

"I-It's alright, nothing important."

"Love, things are getting dark. We should settle your objective first."

"Eh?"

Unconsciously I looked up, I am kind slow to understand what she truly means.

"Y-You might be right haha, come on dear."

"I will be honored to escort you to the place. It's my room after all fufufu."

As expected the palace is clear of soldiers as most of them have been ordered to maintain the order of the kingdom. The parents and children of the soldiers have been evacuated into the palace in order to avoid any of them to betray the kingdom and also act as hostages.

Depends on the perspective of the soldiers that are currently under working with the enemy. They should be scared anyway as the king has his own private army that does all of the work for him. Gathering intel and executing the enemy without anyone knowing.

Amanda also adds in that the room doesn't have any difference when the time I have left it. She didn't feel anything when she decided to come in to replenish her magic power thus she isn't sure what I am trying to check.

To be honest, I am just curious. If nothing is happening I should farm seeds and someone disposable to farm the food.

As I step into the illusion room, I am surprised that nothing happens to me. The room itself doesn't drain the magic power out of me at the same time the appearance of the room is really the same when I had left it.

Without delaying any more time, I start to imagine various dishes to appear on top of the table. The illusion room then slowly drain magic power out of me.

What does this say?

The location of the room doesn't reform the moment I change it. It will stay that way forever. It is convenient that it doesn't restart thus I could enlarge the illusion room and no matter how big it will only drain my magic power once.

Contrary to the name, I don't feel like calling it an illusion room anymore. Dimensional room? God world?

Naming can wait, it is not that important than the thing that I am looking forward to. After we get out of the illusion room, Amanda excuses herself as she wants to start preparing dinner. She looks really please and she seems to not be able to contain her emotion.

She also added to me to meet up with Eliza that was training. She continues saying that Eliza has something to ask of me.

Fortunately, Aria is here, she knew where to go and it didn't take long before I see a glimpse of Eliza from afar. She was training, holding on a sword in one hand while a wand in another.

It is quite surprising to see a magician trying to learn how to learn sword arts. Her sword is quick to slash while her wand moves as if it is floating in the air. Though no matter how cool and she looks I am still unable to contain my laughter every time I see her poses to chant the magic skills.

"Why are you laughing at me?"

"M-My bad, Hahaha. It's just that your posts are interesting."

"Interesting? More like hilarious from the way that you are trying that hard to contain your laughter."

"F-Fine, an apology for laughing at you."

"You don't look sincere at all. Anyway, do you still have the large collection of the swords that Amanda had helped to enchant?"

"Yeah, I was wondering when will you take it away from me. Do keep in mind that these swords would instantly be destroyed the moment someone has an evil intention to kill the innocence."

"Bah, isn't that good then?"

"It also doesn't have any effect on demons."

"...Say that again?"

"The sword is unable to damage any of the demon race."

"Can you tell me the reason? What if we were attacked during our exploration?"

"Don't worry, other than monsters, you will not be meeting any demon. You can trust me on that."

"..."

"Master, you can't be trusted."

"Aria, thanks… Thanks, Aria. Fine, let's just say I have information that the demons are traveling far away from here for some reason."

"Hmm… To escape from the crusader? Oh well, I don't mind much, I could blast them to pieces if I encounter one. Now, where's the sword?"

"It is with me but unfortunately I need to pass it to them personally."

"Are you kidding with me?"

"No, I need to register their DNA to my weapon and the only person that knows how to do it is me. Imagine it is some sort of a ceremony."

"Alright follow me to the barrack, all of them should have arrived by now, waiting for their weapon. I hope you don't disappoint them."

~ Meanwhile

"WHAT IS HAPPENING!? WHEN WILL YOU TELL ME WHAT IS THE SITUATION?"

"Mercy! Your Highness! There must be an explanation. We need to ask for help from the church. It seems it is true that the Gwendal Kingdom has join forces with the demon king, in order be the only human kingdom."

"Then what are you waiting for!? We already lost hundreds of our men!"

The man bangs the table till it breaks in half. Out of anger he almost throws it to the minister that is in front of him.

"Ahhh!!!!"

The minister immediately takes a bow and quickly run out of the room. He knows that if he does not bring any kind of good news he might as well prepare to be killed.

"Sigh* Why are we even trying to destroy the Gwendal Kingdom. From what I know, it's the holy alliance fault for giving a corrupted priest that accept the bride from a lowly woman."

He is the minister of defense, he takes care of all of the borders surrounding the kingdom and at the same time manage the spies of the private king army to get them to gather intelligence from all over the world.

He has been living peacefully all these years but his life turns to hell when the holy alliance suddenly come up to them and bluntly told them a huge lie about Gwendal kingdom decision to work together with the demons.

It is too abrupt and at the same time, they were obviously lying as he himself knew the real reason why they had done so. In order not to lose face and eventually lose face among the rest of the kingdom.

If others have known about how their own priest that is supposed to be pure and holy has gone off-tracked to accept a bride from a woman nevertheless. Even though the rest of the kingdom knew the true reason, they can't be bothered about it. He wonders, why does all of the kingdom doesn't intend to group up and destroy the true enemy? Of course, it is the holy alliance. What do they have that none of the kingdoms dare to do the same thing that the Gwendal Kingdom has done?

All these kings are too greedy, they wanted the land and resources by themselves. They are too coward to stand up and be the odd one out. Though now the minister is scratching his head, he doesn't think the Gwendal Kingdom has such elites surrounding their entire land. No matter how careful his plan was, none has come back alive to report back to him.

It's as if there's a mist of death surrounding the place.
