15 Pre-orders

~

I line up all of the items side by side, after finding out that the type of materials does affect the weapon, I decided to categorize them. Seeing an abundance of these items, it made me proud of myself.

I didn't think I could use this power to do something else other than weaponsmith. I could even create Armor but need to think twice.

It might create chaos if I decided to do that. W-Wait, I could even build my own army. Ah, why would I even do that?

Taking one of each into my bag I kept the rest in the system inventory slot. I Paid a visit to the adventurer guild. It's been four days since I arrived here with Miri. She was bored as I rarely come out from the room, partly because I was hiding away from the garden of shadow and I do not want to create suspicion that I could produce all of the items without any delay.

Miri was bored but forced herself to practice her sword non-stop so that she won't be bored. As she is loyal enough to follow Anderson order to always stay by my side. She even started to buy books to read.

Miri took the lead and ask the lady at the counter whether we could sell the items immediately. We were told that I have two choices, to be independent or sponsor by the guild. By independent is that we need to fork out an amount of gold to the king every month.

It depends on the profit that I gain from the business. After I told her that the princess will be taking forty-five percent of my profit, she told me to not worry about being sponsor by the guild and wanted me to choose the independent. I was curious anyway, looking reluctant she explained that it is for those that aren't sure whether their business will be successful thus decide to use the guild reputation.

There will be numerous interview to make sure that the goods that they are selling aren't going to be dangerous to the public as it involves the guild reputation after all. The advantages of it are that the guild will be the ones to help create an advertisement for them, on the other hand, take sixty percent profit from the business owner. Ten percent of the ratio that the guild took will be handed to the King as a tax.

The guild was hoping to get a slice of my profit but upon telling them that the Princess is involved the lady immediately change her mind without hesitation. Miri told me to get started quickly so that she could finally go out and see other people.

At the same time, I didn't know that a rumor had spread around. Being a celebrity is very bad. News spread that I am not faithful to general Anderson and already have a second wife.

It seems in the kingdom, I don't need to take a test of being a merchant. The guild already knows what kind of things, I'll be selling so they do not need to check on me, but there will be random check from the guild to ensure that I am not selling anything that I shouldn't or haven't been permitted to sell.

There were so many stalls open up around the center of the kingdom. I didn't care much about how much crowd there is, the only important thing would be how much space it is for me to sell my items. The less crowd there is, better for me.

After buying the essentials and most importantly a board to tell my customer the rules of the item. I started to sit down and wait. Miri was angry at me for not going to a more popular place to sell. She was shocked after telling her that I won't be selling every day, it's only once per week.

People will come to collect the week after they had pre-order so that nobody will suspect a thing about where all the items come from. Initially, all the people around didn't come near to the shop as seeing Miri a soldier standing by near me makes it suspicious.

I told Miri to sit down, but she wouldn't have obeyed. It seems that standing up is her easiest way to protect me.

But something happens.

"It's Raul!"

"Raul and his second wife!"

"I didn't think the rumor was true!"

Both me and Miri were stunned. Huge crowds suddenly came out of nowhere. Hearing that I, Raul, had open my own shop accompanied by my second wife. They were all staring, but none approach my small stall.

Miri had tears pouring out from her eyes, she isn't scared of the fact that the crowd was staring at her, but she was praying that Anderson won't hear of this news. I patted on her shoulder and told her that she shouldn't worry about anything, I will send a messenger pigeon so that there won't be any misunderstanding.

She looked grateful to me. She probably has a crushed-on Anderson huh. She can't bear if her crushed were to hate her because of this. At least she didn't blame me.

"Mom look! That looks like the princess!"

A child saw and told her mother, her mother initially didn't believe it, but after she approached and took a closer look, she suddenly had diamonds appearing on her eyes.

"H-How much is it!?"

"One gold for that Ma'am."

"How expensive…"

I didn't want to make it so common that everyone could buy it. I too am a selfish person, I wanted to quickly gain income so that I could afford to build my own orphanage. Miri also told the mother about the board of rules besides her.

The mother started to frown after seeing so many conditions. She wanted to walk away, but her daughter kept begging. After a while, she gave up and told her daughter to choose any of it.

I quickly inform her that she couldn't buy the one that is placed here. She can only pre-order and collect it the week after. Her daughter was disappointed but nodded her head eventually. I was glad that she wouldn't throw a tantrum.

As for the rest of the people? Hearing that Eliza was engraved on the item, some were angry while the rest quickly pre-order. A list of more than fifty names was written on the list. The ones that were angry didn't buy my item instead just stare at me in a distant.

After I receive an order of exactly two hundred and fifty, I told the rest that they would need to come next week. There were a few people that protested, but after I told them that I am the only person that is engraving, they backed off. I couldn't do more than two hundred and fifty items is the best excuse that I could use.

Those that pre-order was told to inform me ahead of time if there are any last-minute changes, they should need to approach me three days before the week after and if they never come until a specific timing their items will be sold. After that, they would need to pre-order a new one.

I would need to create a ban if those that failed to come to buy their items. Even though it won't affect me much as I've already made at least a few thousands of these items using the massive amount of bones given by Jason. At the same time, I do not want to take a deposit as people haven't trust me yet.

Imagine giving a deposit of fifty copper coins to someone that you don't trust, who knows what if the person run away within a week after taking the money. Thus, I should at least wait a month or so before I receive a deposit. I would also need to remind myself to tell them I'll be only taking the first two hundred fifty pre-orders so at least they are in a rush to queue up.

I was about to walk away but was stopped by two soldiers that I don't recognize. Miri suddenly appeared at my side and telling me that the noble I'm facing is one of the fanboys of the princess. He was angry about the fact that I use the princess popularity to gain income.

"Who gave you permission to sell through the princess reputation? Huh!?"

I tilt my head. The people that initially wanted to pre-order immediately back away but stayed to look.

"There is no need to give permission, through the guild rules. They told me that everything here can be sold. Who are you to tell me otherwise?"

"Who!? You asking WHO!? I am Baron William, I will punish those that make use of Princess reputation without asking permission from me! As punishment give me five thousand gold or you will be killed!"

"So the princess also need to ask permission from you?"

"Pardon?"

"You are proclaiming that the rights of the princess can only be accessed through you?"

"Yes, the princess and I have a great relationship with the Princess!"

"I didn't know you had such a lovely relationship, pardon me from that oh baron William."

"Why do I sense sarcasm in your words? Guards kill him!"

Miri immediately parries the attacks, I didn't even realize the guards had suddenly appeared near me. Without Miri, I would have died.

"Raul, do you have… Any idea on how to get away? It's … Partly your fault that you had provoked the man."

"Hmm? Just try your best not to get hurt alright?"

"Oh don't you worry about me. If you get hurt, I'm going to die anyway."

"That is some order you got there from Anderson."

"Sir, we just found out that the woman is from the Valkyrie squad, she the captain of the squad."

"What!? Guards put down your sword!"

I didn't think Miri reputation is this good, I thought that he would have known about me sooner or later instead Miri was the one that they recognize first. Upon hearing the order, the guards put down their sword and slowly back away.

"Are you Captain Miri?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Why are you protecting…. Don't tell me… Sir, I apologize for my actions! Please punish me!"

The nobleman suddenly bows down and apologize to me. The crowd aren't that bright and was confused about why he did that. Well I won't solve the misunderstanding, I could use the crest, but it might complicate things. Oh well, it seems the nobility still haven't known about my appearances.

Now I can make it happen. Change something.

"Rise, how bright. I am impressed by your immediate actions Mr. William."

The crowd started to grow wild, as they are not permitted to even call the people of the higher ranks by their actual name. If you do that, it means that you have a really intimate relationship or have a higher status than he is.

It seems the crowd probably thinks that I have close contact with William.

Meanwhile, William was shedding tears of sweat as he was trying his best to remember who I am, that is more powerful in the kingdom.

"Now if that is settled, I should go now, I got a job to do. Ah, Mr. William, do you want one?"

"Eh? Sorry, what did you mean by want one?"

"This item that I am selling, would you like to pre-order one?"

"S-Sure…"

"Alright be sure to come next week."

As everything has already been packed up, I walked off with Miri by my side.

"I wonder what I should eat today."
