Ascension?

What welcomed me when I opened my eyes were not the golden ceiling of my mansion, nor was it one of my hundred and eight maids. What welcomed me was a gigantic circular hole in my gold gilded ceiling. Intense light was coming out of that hole and just after opening my eyes I closed them again. At the same time I started to think about what happened yesterday and how did such a gigantic hole appeared out of nowhere.

Before I even had the time to think about anything I started to feel like I was floating. No it wasn't just a feeling! I was actually floating! Before thinking about it more I opened my eyes and started to frantically move my body to hold on to something. But when I fully opened my eyes and looked around I saw that nothing was around me. I was already flying upwards and nothing except for an empty air was around me. Wait actually there were something's around me and they were many beams of light. Each beam of light had a human inside it who was slowly being pulled upward.

I looked at the closest beams of light to my own to see if I could spot anyone I know. It was really hard to differentiate people because all of them were inside the blinding beams of light. I could just see the silhouettes inside the beams and could not discern anyone in particular.

Not knowing what to do I started to relax my body and think why am I being pulled upwards.

Just when I started to think I slowly closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes I was already in a white void and countless people were surrounding me. First thing I did when I opened my eyes were to look at the people that surrounded me. I could see people from many nationalities and ages. So nationality and age weren't the criteria for being pulled. Some of them were handsome and beautiful and others were meh. So appearance wasn't a criteria too. Only thing that the people around me had the same of was the white robes everyone was wearing. I looked at my own body and saw that I too was wearing a white robe. This should be a formal uniform for everyone who was pulled upwards.

I again looked around to see the people around me. Everyone was confused and warily looked at each other. To get some info I looked at the closest person to me, stretched out my hand and asked, "Hello my name is Rodney, do you know why we are here?"

That person looked weirdly at my hand and stepped backwards. I too looked at my hand and saw that I wasn't wearing gloves. Embarrassed I pulled my hands backwards.

Nobody was talking and the whole white void was silent for few seconds. Before I heard some buzzing noises in my ear. After few seconds that buzzing noise transformed into a voice which could be understood. The voice was lively as I could feel the energy from every word he said. The voice said, "I'm really happy to see you all here! First let's introduce myself. I'm what you call a god. An almighty being that created you all!" After he said that I could hear a commotion starting from the people around me. This showed that they could hear that voice too.

The good ignored the commotion and continued saying, "Sadly when I created your race I was still inexperienced and that's why your race was full of faults. But this old man can take responsibilities that's why I tried fixing my mistakes. The human race could be found in any multiverse and from infinite number of worlds I chose you Earth to transform. You should be grateful for that. I made humans in Earth a better race. But there is no free lunch in this world! I made your race better but also took billion people of Earth as a compensation. But don't be disheartened! If you pass my challenge I can transport you back to a better Earth!" After saying that the voice stopped. I looked around to see everyone was as confuse as I was.

When I was about to strike a conversation with someone I again heard a buzzing noise. The voice said, "You may ask why did I choose you all from the billions of people on Earth! The answer is very simple actually. I chose you because you didn't deserve my grace. You are the part of the worst billion people on Earth. You are the worst of the worst, the people who didn't deserve that life!"

When that voice said that I was shocked. Is this god so stupid. He pulled the worst people on earth? If you pull all the politicians and lawyers and give them a challenge how do you think that new Earth of yours could sustain itself.
