3 Chapter 3 - Days Of Cowardice & Mutant

(Authors Note - Might try to change the format. Might do a --- or ___ separating things rather than just hitting enter. I also know that I'm lacking in detail ... sorry about that. The earlier parts of this are harder to remember as I'm using the dream as a basis but still, I'll try to work on adding more details after this one as this one is just an info dump of days until (small spoiler but expected spoiler) leaving the house. Maybe just for scene transitions ... I'm not quite sure yet. I feel like it could make it a cleaner break at least for transitional scenes to make it less confusing. Maybe? Also for how bad my writing is I'm kind of surprised quite so many people even put this in their collections HAHAHAHA. Also, one last thing I personally although feel like I was the character from the dream I don't think I have such a weak personality to freak out from killing someone if I had to do so but it's possible my younger self from when from 6 years ago might have been more along that mental strength level for this.)

March 3rd

It was the day after when I had finally calmed down somewhat after what had happened the previous day with Mr.Roberts and the new lady. Although still terrified I was able to grab the hunter knife from the bathroom's tub and go out carefully while observing everything around me for even the slightest movement afraid some sort of zombie would appear out of nowhere like they do in some sort of novel or something. When I looked out the small window of the front door I saw the lady's body and Mr.Roberts bodies surrounded by a group of people. Worried they might blame me I continued to watch through the part of the window from behind a wall. However, the next thing I realized was that some of them were are their knees not because they were in grief but rather they were ripping the bodies apart to eat.

The sight was disgusting as I all could see was splots blood of flesh flying everywhere. One of the zombies who I recognized as the lady's husband even had the lady's heart in his hand while he sat there devouring it slowly. I stood in that spot freighted watching as they tore off limb after limb, part after part, bite after bite as they slowly devoured the lady's body and Mr.Roberts bodies right there in front of my driveway while I was hiding inside the watching this all happen through the door's small window while further hiding behind a wall. After what seemed to have been another hour of them devouring the two bodies, they all started to hobble away at their own pace after they finished devouring the bodies at a rate that took the five zombies I assume if the eating rate was the same around six hours. What remained was just blood splattered everywhere from the bodies and a few bones and torn pieces of cloth from both the bodies lying where the bodies once were.

After that frightening experience, I started to be afraid of going out even more, which in turn led to me being freighted by the idea of when the utilities would turn off by itself, so I started to fill the sinks and the bathtub near my room with water. With many thoughts running through my mind similar to something such as a hamster on a wheel running like crazy the day past by for mostly pretty eventless after that. Just like that the day's events passed by and night arrived. For me, I found solace in the closet that is just past my parent's bathroom. With my blankets curled up in a ball, I fell asleep. Thus, just like that, my second day in the apocalypse ended with still no help from this hell in sight.

March 4th

Today was the third day of this apocalypse. Unlike yesterday I woke up feeling slightly a little more high-strung that yesterday. However, I still managed to get just a little bit courageous and left the room closet and went near the door to look out the window. Right as I was nearing the window I heard a loud screeching sound come from the road and as I looked out the window I saw someone running through a few zombies on the road with a bloody car and a second car behind them that was following closely to the first. They both kept driving through the surrounding zombies with their older looking car in front. Based on the car's durability it was highly likely that it was an older generation type car that was actually made out of steel or some other metal rather than like the newer car behind that had many scratches on its surface signifying its possible newer car materials of some sort of hard plastic base like many new cars are made out of to reduce mass producing costs down. These cars drivers were driving and doing fine, but, they were driving somewhat recklessly but I didn't dare to try to get in the car and follow them. I could still see around a hundred zombies swarming the front car and getting hit as it drove out while the second one followed closely only getting attacked by the ones the front didn't hit or push away as it drove past. Seeing the fact that there were still others surviving gave me a slight feeling of comfort.

In the end, as far as I could see there were very few zombies left. Approximately around 20 survived as far I could tell from the around a hundred. Thinking about this entire disaster perhaps the only blessing in this whole madness was that when it happened was the most common time for people to be out of the community and at work or picking their kids up rather than it happening at night when everyone was back in the community. If that was the case then it was likely I would have to face the possibility of my parents of having turned but more zombies had I had to flee from this community like the two cars of people who had just left did. If it was a whole community full of zombies then it was likely even the steel car would've gotten stuck in place pretty shortly as there would've been enough at least to form a miniature horde of zombies at the least and eventually even that car despite its hard exterior would be bogged down like a bug in a sticky trap, something unlikely to escape.

The third day and the only eventful happening today was an escaping group of people. In the end, nothing much else happened besides the zombies eating the zombies that got ran over and had their brain splattered all over the place. The surviving twenty zombies turned into a surviving twenty-five zombies as five survived by being only partially run over with them losing either a foot, leg, or their waist down. So then I got to a crawler type zombie. In the end, this type of zombie was surprisingly way scarier than a normal standing one. Perhaps it's just because its entrails were hanging out of its body or perhaps it's because they were on the ground crawling as if they were a tenacious bug that lost its lower half but kept going strong.

Then the day passed by and night arrived once again. As night arrived I could once again hear the sounds of groaning throughout the night. It was a much quieter sound this time compared to the previous night. With only a very small groaning to be heard, it made it easier for me to fall asleep. Thus, another dark and dreary long night had finally passed and soon another bright spring day had once again arrived. Yet this bright spring day just so heavily contrasted my dark and heavy feelings inside of my heart.

March 5th

Once again today I woke up. Today I woke up later than usual. Less high-strung compared to the previous day. Yet, still slightly frightened by the days to come. Although plenty of supplies to last a month no problem by myself. I was still afraid of the days to come. After all, what happens when I run out of supplies. If I ran out of supplies I could only eventually leave and be forced to confront the terror of the new outdoor world.

I went out of the room once again and today I grabbed one of the two remaining chairs not being used to block the doors to the front door and sat there and looked out. Today I spent hours just zoning out watching the outside while sitting on the chair. After I ate my single meal for the day in the afternoon I continued to watch the outdoors. The only conclusion I can make is that the zombies don't have any ability to see as I've seen quite a few walked into the tree next to my neighbor's yard while they lumbered around doing nothing. However, they seemed to follow sound as once at a period of time after they separated there was still five lumbering around and they went closer to a tree with a bird chirping. After reaching the tree they kept hitting it while groaning and occasionally roaring at the bird. However, the small bird just stayed in the top of the tree chirping away without a care in the world about what was going on below the tree.

Watching the bird I had personally started to wish I was the bird myself. Having the ability to fly away without a care in the world about the zombies below it. The zombies regardless of how they tried to climb up the tree, they couldn't even go up a step and just kept scratching away at the tree which caused the zombies flesh to start to break off from repeating attacking the tree and their skin being rubbed away by the tree and the zombies kept going at it for around 15 minutes before the bird flew away before finally stopping and roaming around once again. I also saw one of the crawlers from the day before again. This confirmed that zombies' bodies didn't require blood either. Just like how Mr.Roberts zombie didn't need to have a heart to still be standing and willing to tear into the lady's arm from March 2nd. The crawler also seemed to be moving slower due to the flesh on its hand being flayed from crawling over the concrete for a whole day and night.

Soon another day almost went by. It was now 6:00 in the evening soon the dark night would approach once again. Right as I got up from the chair to put it back in the living room I head the sound of a car. I immediately turn to look in the direction of the sound and see a car driving through the side road in front of the house and onto the main road that leads out of the community at high speeds. Despite the darkening evening sun at that time I could that the car had heavy dents in it along with lots of blood splatter all over the car and what looked to be some entails hanging onto the right side mirror of the car's door. It sort of resembled flowing hair with the way it flowed in the air while they were moving down the street so fast. As they turned around the curve I noticed that the car almost ended up turning over due to running over one of the heads of the zombies that have been crawling all over the ground for the last day or so when that happened they lost a lot of their speed to try to retake control of the car so they don't crash. Luckily it seems they managed to barely not flip over. It's likely that had they even driven even a mile per hour faster they would've tipped over and flipped over the small bridge's curve they were at and went straight into the small flower river that was there. Had that happened I'm sure the remaining sixteen or so zombies would've enjoyed a fresh meal that night.

Finally, the night went down and from the mad driver, the driver following behind that mad driver, and today the second day and today's reckless driver almost became zombie chow the number of what was likely around a hundred zombies dropped down to around seventeen zombies with six of those being crawlers who lost a leg, both legs, or the whole waist down. Then once again I retreated into the closet for the night. The night was oddly calming as aside from the occasional groaning and moaning of zombies that could be heard through the night I had no problem with sleeping despite most of the closet being filled with food and water only around 10 inches or perhaps maybe 24 centimeters away from me which gave little to no room for tossing and turning in my sleep.

March 6th

Another morning arrived. Another day of feeling glad to be alive. Another day of hiding in the house hoping I don't die. Another day of staring out the window observing as the day goes by with a book from the closet of my own room to have something to do other than just stare out a window for hours on end until something happens if something happens. Another day goes by and I'm still lucky that the utilities are still going strong.

Today I spent pretty much the whole day reading a large anthology book. I was reading a book that I was supposed to read for college before. The truth was I never even looked at it since I got it unless it was in class or I just had nothing else to do that day. Usually, I would have just looked up information online about the text we were reading then went to class and took the tests and accepted the results regardless of its good or bad. However, now with nothing to do since the internet isn't working which I could only assume was caused by a zombie damaging something internet providers location or perhaps someone ended up driving into their building if others passed out in that way that I did. After all, if your driving and suddenly pass out with your foot on the gas pedal it would be pretty dangerous. It could also have been the extremely small possibility that one of the meteorites from the meteorite shower landed on earth and happened to hit one of the underground optic fiber cables that provide signals to our home's electrical systems. Well perhaps, in the end, I would still never know as it's not like it was something I could fix. All I could do was regret that I didn't save any stories or movies on my phone otherwise I would at least have had something to do for a day or two. I would rather that than having to spend my days as I do now with nothing to do but read a college literature textbook as if although some stories were actually interesting as some were slightly interesting, in the end, they are all pretty much still uninteresting stories to read.

Soon the night came. The night felt ominously dark tonight as seemingly ominous light red glow on the moon tonight along with the light scent of iron and blood could be smelt throughout the night from all the dead whose blood has been spilt by the few survivors who escaped along with the small scrapped off parts of the car frames lying in the road being a testament to those who once were here in this community. Then just like that another night passed inside of the closet and another day once again arrived.

March 7th

A new day arrived. Today I didn't couldn't really feel motivated to continue to stare out the blocked off front door. The smell of blood that had started to permeate through the community was starting to become unpleasant. Although the air conditioner still ran due to utilities still having been not knocked off it's likely that within a day or two the stored power in the power grid for the community would run out. Soon whether it be day or night I would be left in the dark unless I was willing to leave my closet in the day. Knowing deep down inside that my phone wouldn't be able to last I went towards my room quietly and grabbed the pocket watch my parents got for me for some reason rather than an actual watch and silently brought it back to the closet and adjusted the time to match my phone's time to just a second off at most before leaving it on the cases of water to the right side of the closet.

Today after lazing around for half a day my phone somehow regained a phone signal. Just shortly after perhaps not even five minutes had passed when I noticed it that I received a text message on my phone from the phone company.

(Message) - 'To all customers, the government is in a state of emergency. When you receive the message the government's military facilities are now opened towards any survivors. Please make your way towards any military facilities at once. All internet services are now unlocked for now. Please download a copy of a map and make haste towards the nearest designated military facility. This is not a fake message please take note of this seriously.'

Immediately afterward I got online and downloaded a copy of a detailed map online from google with screenshots and everything as a backup. Then I put my phone in my pocket and picked up the hunting knife once again and decided to open the door to the garage. In the garage, I could still two freezers on the side of the garage opposite the door where the supplies for the restaurant was placed. I snuck over to the back of the car opened the door and raised it up and got into the car and placed the seats behind the driver's seats down. Then I silently made my way back to the closet and started to prepare to move things into the car. Once I finished moving everything from the closet to the car and had them put in either boxes or containers that were laying around with random supplies for a restaurant like straws, spoons, and napkins. Then as I walked out of the garage and went to grab some stuff from the food closet in the kitchen and to remove the knives I had pointing various windows and doors throughout the house I started to see more cars moving out of the community it wasn't many just another two. But right at the cross section in front of the house, I noticed the second car was dragging a body perhaps it was a zombie and they dropped it right there at the cross section leaving the zombies that were following after the car to stop and devour the body there. This left me with little to no choice to either not leave today or break through them. Ultimately it was either hoping they would roam away from that part of the road or to head out and kill them myself.

Silently cursing those people who caused a blockade of around sixteen zombies with a mix of normal standing ones and crawlers at the cross-section with various kinds of bad language I heard through my life. If they had just cut off the body tied to it further down the road and just ran through the two in zombies in front I wouldn't have put in as dire a situation as right now. Now if I left by the time I even pulled halfway out of the driveway with my car I would be swarmed by zombies with no way to leave. I started to feel a rising sense of crisis that started to sway inside my harder than what my heart's beating could make me feel. I snuck and grabbed my sister's Ipad and speakers along with a few kitchen knives and snuck out the back door and headed down the roadways and turned on the sound of the speakers and tied it onto a tree further down the road. After turning it on out of the sixteen the ten normal zombies all walked towards it with the six crawlers slowly crawled there. I snuck back around them behind the furthest crawler and stabbed the furthest one back with a kitchen knife right as it crawled over the grass in front of my house. The zombie died instantly as I had purposefully tiptoed around while the sound was playing and stabbed into its head. At this moment I heard a weird announcement in my head that made me nearly scream out loud.

(???) - "Ding! Experience +1. 1 more experience point towards level up. One status point and skill point available. Beginner skill 'status' is still level 1 of 3. Beginner skill 'upgrade' at max due to it not being random skill given by the system."

The first thought after the message was over was something like "A system from one of those novels I've read before?" appearing in my head. Checking my status by doing what some of those novels had and thinking status I saw my stats.

(Rain) - Level 1, Experience 1/2, Human, Beginner. Strength 1.1, Speed 0.9, Stamina 0.6, Immunity 1.0, and Magic 0.

Magic? Is that now a thing? I guess I have no talent for it considering it's zero. I could only assume my stats showed it based upon the average adults would be 1.0 points. In other words, my stamina showed that I had the stamina of about an overweight adult who barely works out at all. Stunned by this I instantly invested my status point into stamina. Otherwise, how would I run away if I got chased and only lasted for a few minutes and then ran out of breath and still had zombies on my tail. Then at that point, I could only become zombie chow. Afterward, I upgraded my skill status and at level two when I activated it I could see the zombie I was seeing's status.

(???) - Level 1, Experience 0/2, Undead, Normal. Strength 1.0 (weakened slightly due to weaken arms from crawling), Speed 0.3 (Lost legs), Stamina (undead what do you think), Immunity 0.5 (they turned, of course, they had didn't have 1.0 immunity to handle the disease/mutation), Infectivity 1.0 (you know infect you to become a zombie currently not sure if I want immunity to be higher to stop infection or be equal to it), and Magic 0.

Then with the bloody kitchen knife still dripping with brain fluids from the previous zombie, I stabbed the knife into this new one's head. With the new status point I gained from becoming level two I added that into stamina again at the very least I need an average person's endurance in running or else if I can't even run that 10-15 minutes I was a dead person in the near future for sure. Just like that I kept following the crawlers and killed the sixth and last crawler zombie with the bloody kitchen knife. At this point, I started to think this knife might not last many more stabs if I don't clean off the blood as at the end I had to push down with my full force to get it to piece into the last one's head. After all, a blade used recklessly on bones and blood would start to wear down quickly if used the way I did and just stabbed it into the ground all way down to the grass or concrete below. With the death of this one, I level up again and put my status point this time into speed since the next zombies would be faster for sure if I don't kill them. Before I went in I decided to check the status of myself and the zombies.

(Rain) - Level 3, Experience 0/8, Human, Beginner. Strength 1.1, Speed 1.0, Stamina 0.8, Immunity 1.0, and Magic 0.

(???) - Level 1, Experience 1/2, Undead, Normal. Strength 1.2, Speed 0.8, Stamina Infinite, Immunity 0.5, Infectivity 1.0, and Magic 0.

After checking at the end of the ten eight had this status. However, two of them didn't have the same status one of them was still able to be dealt with but the other one worried me based upon what I saw.

(???) - Level 2, Experience 1/4, Undead, Normal. Strength 1.3, Speed 0.8, Stamina Infinite, Immunity 0.5, Infectivity 1.0, and Magic 0.

This was the one I was not worried about it just had slightly higher strength compared to the other ones. However, the last one was what worried me the most as its status showed it couldn't be compared so easily to the rest.

(???) - Level 3, Experience 0/8, Undead, Early Strength Mutation 1. Strength 2.1, Speed 0.6, Stamina Infinite, Immunity 0.4, Infectivity 1.0, and Magic 0.

This status worried me as it showed that zombies could become mutated and increasing their status based upon their mutation level. Noticing this I also realized this was the zombie that only got to eat other zombies when I watching through the window at first. I figured that it's slower speed is due to its stronger build. So it's likely that the strength mutation 1 gave 0.5 strength points, and the 0.2 decreased speed also went into strength, along with 0.2 strength from status points. giving it a major boost in strength. The only upside to this strength zombie was the lower speed or I might not be able to handle it.

Noticing that this one should be left for last I went around grabbed the other twelve kitchen knives from the bag I stuffed them into when I came out. I stood on the road nearly two meters away from the nearest zombie as the strength one had pushed its way to the tree already and the level 2 zombie had also pushed up next to the strength zombie. With them out of the way I grabbed the bloody kitchen knife and threw it at a level 1 zombie on the outside. Although I didn't hit its head I still hit it in the slightly fleshy right side of its throat and aggravated it to come towards me. This one then made its way towards me and ended up turning and accidentally smacking another zombie as it turned around and causing it to fall over in my direction. Noticing it having fallen I grabbed a new knife from the open knife bag hanging on my right shoulder and quickly stabbed it into its head before backing off as the one I hit in the throat had almost arrived before me. I left that knife in the head of the fallen zombie and backed away and grabbed another knife and chucked it into the head of the zombie piercing straight into its forehead.

(Author's Note - Just for you to know although the idea of chucking a knife accurately at its head seems kind of dumb I'm actually pretty accurate at throwing things weirdly enough. For example, one time my friend invited me over to his house and we played with a practice board using knives ... Very dangerous but I still was accurate enough to hit from a meter away without much problem. Two meters was where it started to fall down as such my point of the knife hitting its throat rather than the head. P.S. Never actually do this at home! My friend almost stabbed himself when he did this at his house before we stopped! My accuracy with a pencil is better cause it's lighter and actually travels pretty damn well. I threw one across a meter and a half away at a friend who threw it at me and nailed it into the board where his head in which if he hadn't ducked he would've had the pencil probably actually hit him and cause him to bleed. P.P.S. Sharp pencils are dangerous after all! Mwhahaha never piss off this author in real life cause I'm great with my aim if you're in the way of my flying objects. `0.0> Honestly speaking likely only got good aim cause I've done archery in class.)

Then with the zombie falling backward it collapsed and caused a few other zombies to turn around causing me to hold my breathe for a few seconds before they turned back around. I then quietly snuck up close to the two dead zombies that were both in the middle of me and tree surrounded by zombies where the speaker was. I grabbed the knife from their two heads and the second dead one's throat. I then grabbed another knife and held it in my left hand and grabbed the one I had been in the throat of the zombie while standing a meter away and chucked it into the head of another zombie. However, the sharpness had fallen quite a bit and caused it to only cut it causing this male zombies side of the head to start bleeding. Quickly grabbing one of the bloody knives and throwing it again as soon as it turned it hit it's heading killing it and causing it to fall against the tree.

After that, I continued to slowly pick off the weaker zombies and I had taken the Ipad the speaker was connected to and raised the volume of the speaker so it would keep the attention of the strength zombie. Then after killing the eight levels ones I reached level 4. With this level up, I put my status point into stamina again as I started to feel somewhat fatigued from throwing the knife after knife at the zombies in a stressed way cause if I had missed and hit the level 3 strength zombie I would've likely had it go crazy and attack me. I was afraid of it going into a direct confrontation with this one as its strength was even enough to tear some of the bark of the tree with each hit. At this point with only the two zombies left if I don't finish it off soon then the tree that lost around 10% off one of its sides would likely fall soon.

Taking a quick couple minute break the tree that lost 15% of itself was likely to fall soon. Like this, I quickly made my way around the tree from a two-meter radius and then snuck on up to the level 2 and quickly stabbed it from behind with my last clean kitchen knife not wanting to take the chance and stabbed it as hard as I could. Sadly I used to much strength as I caused the zombie to hit the tree along with the knife that caused it to be stabbed into the handle of the knife. This sound caused the strength zombie to turn on me. I even had to ignore the sound of the notification. All I registered was that the level 2 zombie gave me 2 experience points rather than 1 point of the experience before I backed away and ran as the strength zombie started to give chase. As we ran I kept taking out the bloody knives covered in blood and brain juice and every time it would get within one and a half meter I would chuck a knife at it hoping to it hit this stupid muscular zombies head. However, as my desire would hope it failed. With it madly flailing its hands with it behind me it kept hitting the knives that flew at it and caused them to either cut its hands, arms or just knocked them of course. In the end, by the time I reached in front of my house, I quickly climbed up the ladder at Mr.Roberts house since they were repairing the roof. I sat up there with the zombie smacking away at the brick wall while taking a breath.

I didn't know what to do as I only had my hunting knife left with me. Although larger than the rest of the kitchen knives and sharper than them I was sure my accuracy rate with this knife wouldn't be as high as it weighed much more. However, Had the roof not extended out so much I would've been able to just chuck it down at its head however it was under the roof smacking away at the wall under where I was sitting and catching my breath in hurried breaths. I decided to take this chance to see my status to give myself a proper visualization of it.

(Rain) - Level 4, Experience 2/16, Human, Beginner. Strength 1.1, Speed 1.0, Stamina 0.9, Immunity 1.0, and Magic 0.

Soon my status would reach a minimum of 1.0 for everything besides magic. It was for some reason the only stat I couldn't put points into so I just assumed that I had no talent for it and left it alone. Although at this current moment I wished for nothing more than magic especially fire magic that would allow me to just burn this stupid muscular strength zombie to the ground. While I was sitting there on the roof I finally decided to take the risks and attack the damn muscle zombie that wouldn't relent. I grabbed my hunting knife in the right hand and jumped off the back of the house to give myself some time to allow my legs to get back into to function from the shock of jumping off the roof of the building was not negligible. Right as my legs were in working order the strength zombie who heard noise from the back started to chase after me again causing me to run to the road to not be in such a crowded spot as I had to little close combat experience since I stopped taking karate when I was around 10 years old.

Charging at the zombie large zombie I dodged its outstretched right hand that went for me and countered by throwing a cut at the right arm of the zombie that had now lost most of its momentum having just swung down and chopped down at it. In the end, all I did was aggravate it more as I couldn't even cut past the right arms bone and quickly pulled the bloody hunting knife out of its right arm that sort of hung somewhat limply showing that I likely severed the nerves that connected the muscles of the arm. With that, I backed away and ran back down the road again and picked up a few knives from the side of the road that was thrown previously. I turned back around as soon as the strength zombie lumbered back into approximately 1.5 meters I threw the two of the three knives at it leaving the better one for myself to use. In the end, although it's left hand blocked one of the knives it couldn't block completely block both of them with its flailing arms and had the second knife pierce into the zombies left arm causing it to still be able to swing it but at a much slower rate. This pleased me highly as it was a seemingly lucky shot that lodged itself into its arm somewhat and happened to cut a few of its important muscle nerves weakening this zombie.

Forcing myself to rush at the zombie I swung at the head of the zombie but more precisely the right eye as the right arm wasn't moving at all. After I started to stab at it the left arm of it swung at me and hit me before I managed to stab it in and collided with side and sent me flying into the grass at the side of the lawn before Mr.Roberts home. Despite the pain, I rushed at it once again and used the remaining kitchen knife in my left hand and stabbed the left arm with it causing it's left arm to barely be able to even twitch while using the hunting knife in my right hand and stabbed towards the zombie's right eye once again. Finally, I had managed to stab through the head of the strength zombie who if it had been faster luckily would've been the end of me. However, in the end, I still was the one standing and not a scratch on me. Just a large bruise the size of a brick on my left side stinging like crazy.

(???) - "Ding! Experience +4. Experience +5 for a mutant kill. Experience +5 for an early mutant kill. Total experience +14. Level Up! Congratulations! You are now level 5. Status point +1. Skill Point +1. Next skill point at level 10. At level 10 'Evolution' activates."

After the battle, I went around picking up the knives besides the two that broke from hitting the full powered hits of the strength zombie when it flailed its arms during the initial chase. With that when I came back to the dead strength zombie and pulled my hunting knife out of its head and cleaning it off on the lightly damaged clothes that I planned on throwing away since quite a bit of the lower half of my clothes got dirted with a mix of zombie blood and zombie brain juice. I went back to the home and took a shower and changed into comfortable clothes. I also broke into Mr.Roberts home and took some medical supplies from his house to bandage up my left side and when I was inside I found the body ripped remains of clothes from Mrs.Robberts proving my thoughts that when he turned he did attack her and she failed to kill him by stabbing him in the heart with the small knife I saw in his body when I killed him.

When I finished changing I went back to my home and grabbed some food from the kitchen closet of Mr.Roberts home on my way out along with a few bottles of water. After eating the flavored crackers and drinking the two bottles of water I went to sleep for the night.

March 8th

I changed clothes and packed more things slowly due to the pain I felt in my left side. After finishing changing and preparing to leave I decided to check on the body of the strength zombie and see if I have to move it as it happened to die just a little bit past my driveway so if I backed up I might have to run of it.

When I went to go check on the strength zombie I noticed that the body of the zombie turned into dust. Lying where the zombie's body was a not blood, clothes or anything like that everything of the zombie turned into dust strangely enough. This only things lying in the dust was a green book and a single small crystal. I picked up the crystal and put it into my pocket as it looked interesting nice. The book I picked up was called "Wind Magic Book" and that was it. I decided to take it back to the house and read in the closet and push back leaving for a little while longer. After I opened it up I suddenly felt a surge of knowledge rush inside my brain as if a dam of knowledge just busted open and flew into my brain. Then suddenlly I knew how to use wind magic like that. However, the period in which knowledge flooded my brain made the day already turn into nearly night as it was suddenly already 6:00 P.M. Feeling a sudden urge I decided to decided to upgrade status to level 3/3. When I did the skill upgraded into Analysis 1/1.

(???) - "Status has become level 3/3. Upgrade conditions met. Upgrading! Upgrade Complete! Status has become Analysis. Now able to see your status, other's status, and see information about something."

With the skill upgrade to analysis I decided to check out my status and see if it makes it any different.

(Rain) - Level 5, Experience 0/32, Human, Beginning Enhancer.

Attributes - Strength 1.1, Speed 1.0, Stamina 1.0, Immunity 1.0, and magic 1.0.

Skills - Wind Magic (1/5), analysis (max), upgrade (max).

Wondering what wind magic did suddenly a message appeared before me telling me.

(???) - "Wind Magic (1/5) is the introductory wind magic. Allows the user to manipulate the air can use to manipulate certain properties to create either a cushioning of wind, a small blade of wind, or increasing the sharpness of a weapon by applying a wind cover of it. To level skill up training the skill by self to level up magic attribute to 2.0 without using status points in magic."

Then the idea came to my mind, what if I used analysis on the crystal I picked up from the zombie I had in my pocket. Taking it out I tried to activate the analysis skill on it.

(???) - "Mutation Crystal Level 1. If user puts it against their head can be absorbed. After being absorbed grants user +.2 Immunity attribute.

Immedieately after that I decided to use it and pressed it against my forehead. Right after that I felt it get absorbed into me. It was also confirmed with the system telling me as well.

(???) - "Congratulations user has gained +.2 Immunity attribute. Immunity is now 1.2. Next Mutation Crystal Level 1 only gives 0.1 Immunity attribute points.

I ended up slightly despirited at the fact that the next time I used another crystal it was only half as effective. However, if it was as I wished and provided unlimited Immunity then it would really ruin the fact that Immunity was something to be worried about. Deciding to practice slightly with magic I went outsides and tried using wind magic on the bloody kitchen knives that although cleaned were still slightly giving a faintish red coloring. I then applied wind magic onto the blade and had it tightly circulate the blade and swung it at the tree near Mr.Roberts house and the blade actually managed to go inside half a meter inside this four meter diameter wide tree before stopping inside the tree. Then I used the wind magic and created a dagger made of wind. When I held it felt almost like a just like the dagger my dad had showed me once in the past. I could only maintain the shape of the dagger for around 90 second before causing me to feel mentally drained. I then checked my status again and noticed that my magic attribute said "0.0/1.0" so it seems that using it made it become drained temporarily. Taking the chance I went back to my home to rest and finish packing a few more things before going to sleep.
