To Protect

"Embrace the darkness!! Fuhahah!!"

I was so confused as a loud voice of a girl was suddenly heard inside my head. I tried looking for the owner of the voice with my sight. But, all I could see was the horror happening in my surroundings.

Some of the people were suddenly shouting, those that were supposed to be dead and unconscious suddenly opened their eyes and also started screaming.

There were those that did not shout just like me and we looked at each other.

The screaming suddenly stopped.

Another terrifying thing happened to those that were screaming. They suddenly changed shape. Some muscles suddenly started bulging, some suddenly grew tails, some horns. Their transformations was a mess you won't even know which part is which anymore.

"Bwahaha!! To think that hell is connected to earth again! As expected of my daughter!"

Suddenly a loud, deep, and scary voice could be heard in my mind. And it looks like I'm not the only one who heard it, as other people who were not transforming looked around trying to find the owner of the voice.

And finally someone asked what everyone wanted to know right now.

"D...did anyone hear that?"

Everything was in a mess that everyone did not know what to do.

"Accept the darkness inside you or tremble before us, earthlings!!"

The loud, deep voice accompanied by the roar of countless beast resounded clearly inside our minds.

The unmoving transforming students and school staff suddenly opened their eyes, all at the same time. It was very creepy, especially when their eyes looked dead.

"Now then!! Let the massacre begin!! BWAHAHA!!"

"Eh?! Father, i was the one who connected hell and this world so shouldn't it be me who carries the plague?! And we're not here to massacre them, okay?! We're making them our slaves for the battle to come!!"

Such scary conversations were being carried inside everyone's mind. The one who's called father suddenly shouted or you could call it a roar.

RAAAAAAAAWWRGHH!! "Fine just do whatever you want."

"Really?! Thanks Father!! Fuhaha."

The father groaned...

Everyone stood still, not making any movements which makes you think that they may be statues.

The girl then voiced her commands.

"Now then. Capture everyone who is not yet fully plagued and transformed!! Dead or alive, but i prefer it if you captured them alive because dead puppets are a pain to move."

The transformed moved to capture everyone. The people finally came to their senses and started running in terror.

I also came to my senses and hurriedly ran to the classroom. The only thing in my mind was the safety of Athena and Althea. Whilst I was running I saw people getting caught by those dreads, they were bitten by those monsters and they also transformed themselves into one of them.

I was shocked seeing that, but I did not stop my feet and continued running.

(If only I could be by their side right now... I'm sure they're scared... If anything happened to them I'll kill all of this monsters!)

While I was thinking stuff like that, my mind suddenly calmed down and one word echoed in my mind. KILL!.

As I was running in the corridor leading to my classroom, one of the dreads- yup, let's call those things like that- just finished biting the one it captured and it transformed in front of me. They both blocked in my way. I stopped in my tracks and looked around for anything that can be used to knock them both off.

I saw a metal baseball bat inside the classroom in my right. Good thing it was close to the door.I ran as to get the baseball bat, but before I could I fell on the ground. A dread that just finished transforming hidden behind the door grabbed my feet.

I looked around, inside this classroom was a mess. The chairs were thrown everywhere, people and dreads running around chasing each other. I just saw a student fall from above outside the window

(Enough worrying about them, I need to protect 'Thena and 'Thea!)

I resolved myself and tried to grab the bat, but I was getting pulled by the dread.

"I...I want to protect them!!!"

I shouted, but I still could not touch the bat. I looked back and saw the dread was about to bite me. I looked back at the baseball bat that was getting farther inch by inch and closed my eyes while trying to grab it.

The closer I got to the dread, the farther i was to the bat. Still struggling to get it, I suddenly felt something being grabbed by my arms. I opened my eyes and looked in surprise. The bat was in my hand.

I looked back at the dread grabbing my feet and opening it's mouth to bite about to bite it. I hurriedly swing the bat and hit the dread in the head. The head was not smashed but it did let go of my feet and stopped moving momentarily.

I stood up and took this chance and ran outside the classroom. I saw the two dreads from before, chasing another student in the back.

I continued running towards my classroom. As each moments passed, my worry for the girls were growing steadily.

When there was a dread blocking the path, I would immediately hit them in the head and the feet to stop them in their tracks. After hitting around 10 dreads on the way, I could finally see my classroom. It took a long time because the room is in the third floor and it's hard to fight those dreads in a stair especially when they're above me so I tried using other stairs which didn't have many dreads.

There wasn't that many dreads in this path to my classroom so it went smoothly. Just as I was about to reach the door, a classmate ran out of it getting chased by one dread.

"S..stop it, man!! Come on, where friends. Stop f*ckin' kidding around!!"

The dread was a close friend of his. My classmate saw me and started asking for help.

"H..Hey!! Gray! Help me, man!"

I ran and swung the bat in my hands, hitting the head of the dread. He was also my classmate so I hesitated and almost stopped in the middle of swinging the bat. That was dangerous, if I stopped there it would have been a disaster.
