30 Security Comes with Weapons

"Goodbye!" Bobby waved to her and swiftly got into the car. It was only after the truck had gone a distance that Alice collected the firearms and ammunition stacked outside the garage into her space.

Security comes with weapons.

...

Back home, it was already nine in the morning, and the temperature outside was nearing forty degrees. Their family didn't need to go out to work for supplies. Despite the daytime heat, they had air conditioning and maintained the habit of daytime activities and nighttime sleep.

Of course, they couldn't go out during the day, so they spent their time at home watching TV, movies, enjoying food and drinks, and engaging in some physical exercise.

"Where were you so early?" The members of the Wen family, who had just woken up an hour ago, noticed that Alice, who usually woke up earlier than them, was not at home, and her phone was left behind.

Alice casually replied, "I took a stroll around the neighborhood. I bought some buns for you guys."

On her way back, she saw a breakfast shop open and exchanged a kilogram of rice for some red bean buns. Blanche made soy milk, and the family had a simple breakfast.

"Mom, Dad, I'm back!"

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Listening carefully, it was Alexander's voice. Blanche immediately got up to open the door and saw Alexander holding Beryl's hand outside. A strange expression flickered across her face.

Beryl sweetly greeted, "Auntie, long time no see!"

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Alexander, feeling the heat outside, expressed joy on his face. He pulled Beryl and was about to enter, saying, "Home is still the most comfortable."

Beryl had already noticed that the Allenfamily was still living well, with a clean and tidy house, no power outage, and ice cream and chilled drinks on the table, making her mouth water.

Feeling uncomfortable from the heat, she was about to follow Alexander inside when a slender figure blocked her way. Looking up, Alice's delicately beautiful face showed no emotion as she calmly looked at Beryl.

"My house doesn't allow random people to enter," Alice spoke without mercy.

What a joke! Beryl felt like every second spent not enjoying this was a waste!

Alexander was bewildered and quickly pulled Alice aside, whispering, "Little sister, did you forget who she is? She's my girlfriend, Beryl..."

Alice interrupted him, coldly stating, "I haven't forgotten. I'm stopping her."

"Why?" Alexander was even more puzzled.

Beryl looked at Alice with a helpless expression, fully utilizing her potential for playing the victim. "Alice, are you worried that I'll stay at your place and not leave? Don't worry, I won't. Today, I just came to visit Uncle and Aunt."

Blanche also felt it was inappropriate to let Beryl leave under the scorching sun. Seeing her son's silly expression, she couldn't help but think that Beryl might indeed become her daughter-in-law in the future.

She glanced at Alice, signaling with her eyes.

Alice gave her a look that said, 'I know what I'm doing.' When Blanche felt relieved, Alice coldly said, "You've seen the person, you can leave now."

Blanche moved her lips but, seeing that Alice was determined not to let anyone into the house, she remained silent.

Beryl's face stiffened, and she looked to Alexander for help. He couldn't bear to see his beloved girl being treated unfairly, so he anxiously looked at Alice. "Little sister, didn't you used to dislike Beryl a lot? Do you have a misunderstanding about her?"

Alice's lips curled into a mocking smile. "That's right, I don't like her because I can't stand watching her play you around, not knowing how many men she's flirting with behind your back."

"Alice!" Beryl raised her voice, her eyes widening, teary and pleading. "You can dislike me, but you can't insult me."

Alexander was also angry, his handsome face stern, eyes filled with disappointment. "How did you become like this? Beryl is a good girl, you can't humiliate her like this."

Blanche discreetly tugged at Alice's sleeve, signaling her not to be so hurtful in her words.

"Second brother, do you believe her or believe me?" Alice asked calmly.

Without hesitation, Alexander blurted out, "I'm with Beryl every day, and I've never seen her interact with other men."

Alice was speechless for a moment. No wonder Beryl could easily manipulate Alexander with his laid-back personality.

If she hadn't taken over the original owner's body, she really wouldn't have wanted to meddle in such affairs.

Alice's lips curled into a subtle smile as she stared into Beryl's eyes. "I ask you, do you love Alexander? Can you swear that you've never had a relationship with any other man?"

Beryl's gaze flickered. Was Alice onto something? She felt a hint of retreat in her heart. Just as she was about to pull Alexander away, Alice continued, "As long as you answer my questions, I'll agree to let you in."

Her agreement didn't mean that the rest of the family would agree!

Alexander felt relieved and spoke casually, "So, you wanted to test our relationship. I knew my little sister wouldn't be so heartless."

Alice: "..."

Hopeless romance brain, beyond saving.

Alexander hurriedly urged, "Beryl, my sister has no ill intentions. She just wants a guarantee. It's for my own good. Quickly swear, what's there that you can't say?"

In her heart, Alice silently gave a thumbs up to Alexander. This was truly an invisible assist!

"Is that so?" Beryl forced a smile. She didn't mind making the oath, after all, she wouldn't actually get struck by lightning.

So, Beryl cleared her throat, raised her hand, and firmly declared, "I swear that I only love Alexander in my heart, and I have never had any intimate relationship with other men. Otherwise, let me be struck by lightning and die a miserable death."

Alexander looked at Beryl with a moved expression and was about to walk into the house with her. Alice remained blocking the way, showing no intention of stepping aside. Alexander looked at her with confusion.

"Don't be in a hurry. I have a video here that I hope you can explain." Alice mocked, taking out her phone from her pocket and opening a video.

A woman's sweet voice came through, "Finn, nothing happened between me and Alexander. I don't love him at all. He has been pestering me. If it weren't for his somewhat useful value, I would have kicked him out long ago..."

The next few seconds of the voice were unbearable.

There were visuals, there was sound, and there was the truth!

Alexander felt like he had fallen into an ice cellar, cold from head to toe. He turned to look at the woman beside him as if he didn't recognize her anymore.

"Is it true?" Alexander's voice trembled, suppressing the intense emotions within him, veins bulging on his forehead and hands.

Beryl didn't expect that Alice had another card up her sleeve and couldn't come up with a better reason to refute. "I..."

"Beryl, you could swear so confidently just now that you never betrayed my second brother. I really feel sorry for him." Alice said in a low voice.

"Are you doing this on purpose?" Beryl finally realized who the mastermind was and rushed towards Alice.

Alice was about to kick her away when Arnold quickly closed the door. Beryl slammed into the door, causing her eyes to see stars from the pain.
