2 Exploring the System

After finding a good place to sit in my room, I clicked on the Credit System.

<Credit System>

~Credits are used to buy items, blueprints, materials, and skills from the User Store. Credits can be gained through completing tasks that are randomly assigned, fulfilling hidden criteria, and killing zombies, mutants, evolved plants, and other living beings. The amount of credits gained from a being depends on the power and rarity of the being, and the amount gained from a certain being remains constant, no matter the power difference in the opponent.

Note that although the amount of credits gained may remain the say, the experience points and materials vary based on difference in strength. The higher the luck attribute, the higher chances for dropped materials or experience points.

Reading through it, I could understand what it was.

Basically, if I killed something, I would get credits based on its strength. Say I defeated a normal zombie and got one credit. Even if I was vastly stronger than it, or greatly weaker than it, I would still get one credit. Although, if I was greatly stronger than the zombie, I wouldn't really get any experience points or materials, but if I defeated it while being weaker than it, the amount of experience and materials would increase.

After understanding the credit system, I decided to read through the rest.

Just like I thought, while reading through Player Stats Info, it says the average stats for an adult is 10. Thinking about this, I am satisfied with mine, just that my physical stats could be a bit higher.

Reading over Experience Points, it seems that it was mostly explained in the Credit System.

The main point that I need to know is that experience points can be used to level up stats and skills.

It also seems that experience points are relatively rare and hard to get, and the downside is that some stats, like luck and charm, require a greater amount of points to level up, around three times as much. The same goes for skills.

The User Store was also easy to understand. You used the credits that you gained in the User Store to buy various things.

Looking over the user store, I was shocked by what it contained! There were simple things like building materials, food, water, and clothes, but when looking at the weapons and vehicles, it ranged from a simple metal knife to aircraft carriers! Looking at the price of an aircraft carrier, it was 13,000,000,000,000 (13 trillion) credits!

Quickly looking over the store, I then looked towards the lottery. Apparently, you could get a chance to spin a wheel with various items not from the store, such as rifles with unlimited ammo, helicopters with unlimited fuel, farmland which automatically planted and harvested given crops, and many more unimaginable things.

I looking at all the items in the lottery system, I was completely shocked! These things shouldn't even exist, but then I remembered that how I woke up in the past after dying and that I gained this system, and I just accepted it.

Looking one last time at the lottery, I noticed with great excitement that I had one free lottery draw! I wanted to press the spin button so much and see what I would get, but I held back, waiting until after I understood the whole system.

I finally went to the last thing in the information list, the inventory. First looking at it, I assume that it is like those magic bags in novels, the ones where you can fit large amounts of things inside it.

What I guessed it to be was true. It is a storage that I can use to store an infinite amount of things in and time in my inventory will stop, meaning things like food won't rot or decay.

This thing is one of the most useful things about the system, because it doesn't matter how much stuff I have, I can carry it all.

Back when I had to scavenge for food and resources and didn't have a safe place to live, I would come across massive stockpiles of food in grocery stores in the first few weeks, but I could only carry so much, and going back wouldn't be an option because the food would all be taken by then.

Finally finished looking through the system, I get up from my sitting position in my bed and look at the clock.

It is already a little past 5:00, so Amelia should be getting home soon.

I decided that I would put my excitement from the free lottery draw to the side for now and make a quick dinner for the both of us.

----------------------------------------------

Amelia came home a little later than usual, at around 5:45, but that just gave me some more time to cook dinner. I had quickly made some pasta with a side of mashed potatoes and some salad.

I was really eager to cook and eat all of this delicious food since I hadn't had anything nearly as yummy and in well condition as this for the past 10 years.

I sat Amelia down in her seat and served her dinner before getting my own, with Amelia asking,"What is with you today? First this morning and now you actually making a non-microwaved dinner?"

"I'm just in a really good mood." I respond nonchalantly.

We sat there quietly eating dinner.

When we were finished with our food, we cleaned up and sat on the couch watching tv.

I didn't really pay much attention, thinking in my mind what I was going to do next with this system.

It seems that I have been given 1000 credits for free. It also mentioned something about how you can exchange money for credits and vice versa at a one to one ratio.

Seeing that my savings weren't large enough for my dreams of building a fortress and stockpiling resources, I was filled with disappointment.

Wait! I have an idea!

Quickly looking at the User Store, I was happy to see that it had many different sections of things to buy from.

When looking through the sections, I saw what I was looking for. The home appliances section!

Here, I saw common things like normal dishwashers and beds, but there were also futuristic looking versions of the same things that preformed better than the original. This is what I had been hoping for.

I could just buy some of these, make a website online to sell them, arrange something with a shipping company, and just sit back and rake in the money.

Thinking about this, I thought of all the troubles that I would have to overcome to do this within a reasonable timeframe.

I would have to find someone to ship the items and, most importantly, have someone actually buy them in the first place. The prices for the advanced versions of things cost at most one and a half more than normal ones, meaning that it would be hard to sell at first.

I put those worries aside for now and looked at the time.

It was already 9:00. We had been sitting on the couch watching random things for a long time, so I got my sister up, her protests falling on deaf ears, and brought her back to her room to go to bed.

I finally prepared for sleep, getting into my pajamas, and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
