7 The Apocolypse Ruins All Plans

After a few hours of sleep, Nova slid down the steel monster's ladder and hopped onto to the hard floor of the station. He began walking through the station and killing any zombies that he could find. Zombies slowly poured in attracted by the sounds of their comrades being killed off. Nova flicked his wrists at the zombies that waddled too close to him sending them onto the floor. Zombies had the physical strength of a human however they had balance only equalled by their own intelligence.

The floored zombies would pick themselves up and waddle towards him again causing them to slowly weaken and eventually die. If zombies had any fear then the human in front of them would seem more deadly then their bloodthirsty selves. The zombies were being beaten black and blue yet running was a thought they would never have, be it their lack of intellect or something much more sinister.

From the outside it looked like an easy slaughter, however, in reality, Nova was having his own problems. Although he had the mental toughness from his previous time his body had gone back to how it had been before, weak and untrained. The majority of his technique that had been muscle memory that had been erased and his previously tough but lean body had been turned into an average teenager. He currently had the flexibility of a rock and the strength of a child.

Because of this, he couldn't handle prolonged fights like he was in right now. Nova was sweating like a water fountain and panted like a dog as his pungent sweaty body's smell spread through the corridors. Nova could hang on for a bit longer but he couldn't wipe out the zombies, he had overestimated himself.

A small amount of time passed and Nova suddenly stopped, the downed zombies began to rise as Nova began to run. He pushed the zombies to the side as he charged through the small horde he had gathered. He flew down the corridors with the last of his remaining strength and took a right. As he passed a corridor a door burst open in front of him and a zombie toppled over on him and pinned him down.

The zombie itself hadn't even realized what he had done for a second however a limited intelligence helped in times like these. Almost instantly the zombie snapped at Nova and he ended up sticking the baton in front of his face causing the zombie to bite down on the baton instead of Nova's neck. Nova struggled and kicked off the zombie then jumped up.

Nova attempted to run to his left however the zombies from before had caught up. To the right zombies that had been attracted to the noise were walking to the origin. Nova was stuck in between two groups of zombies and slowly backed up against the wall, a sudden pain hit his back and he turned around.

Behind Nova was a metal door and it's door handle had just hit him, seeing no other option he pulled open the door and threw himself inside. The room was dark and only a dull flickering light lit it up slightly. The room was badly maintained from before the apocalypse since lights don't normally break as soon as something goes wrong.

Nova felt around the room with his hands as it was so dark that he could only make out the most basic silhouettes of objects. As he felt around he felt a large scratchy object. He zipped it open and the first thing he felt was luckily a flashlight, he clicked it on and the room lit up.

Nova tipped out the contents of the bag and swiped everything away leaving only a few objects left on the table. One was a cheap phone with a single contact saved on it while the other was a few vials of an unknown substance.

The one other object was a sleek, metal object, a dangerous weapon in the hands of the wrong people and an amazing defence in the right person's hands, it was a gun. It was quite large and heavy even for a pistol and even Nova thought that the gun would work just fine. There was a single magazine of ammo that held 8 bullets. Nova lightly picked up the gun and holstered it in his trousers.

From what Nova could see somebody was attempting to blow something up. From his last timeline, he recognized the chemicals as ammonium nitrate which was a main component in building a bomb. It was unregulated and as it is used for fertilizer it is easy for people to get their hands on it.

Seeing as the bag was still here it would seem that the criminal either placed it here overnight however he would have never expected the apocalypse to ruin his plans. Nova took a small peek outside and saw that the zombies were still concentrated into the corridor right in front of him. There was no bedding in the room he was in so Nova ended up having to sleep on the cold floor.
