1 Past (1/2)

A young adult who looked wise beyond his years walked through a narrow corridor. It was so dark that a blind person could see as well in as well and smelling of sweat and rust with mould growing on the side, as his foot hit the metal floor it clanked and creaked like a wooden plank. Pipes ran through the sides of the wall while some stayed exposed to the world.

The adult himself could be described with the words, confident and ragged. He looked like he hadn't showered for weeks and his hair was a mess yet it only added to his roguish nature. His face was lightly scarred but they were hard to see through his gas mask. He wore a ripped military uniform equipped with knee pads and shin pads while on his back he carried a slick, silver gun.

His build was different from most men. He wasn't fat nor thin, scrawny nor musclebound but he was refined in all the important places. He had broad shoulders that made him seem reliable but dangerous. He reached the end of the corridor and pulled open the thick steel door that was rusted shut. Light penetrated the doorway and the man grimaced at the sun as it shone on his eyes.

*CHOO CHOO*

A sound shook the platform but the man didn't seem shaken or scared by the sound and shook his head a little. The man walked through the doorway and slammed the door behind him. He walked up to some rails and leaned on them. Beneath him, massive wheels rolled and the floor moved.

A door to the right slammed open and another man walked out with similar equipment to the man on the rails. The cheerful man went outside and the man's cold grunt alarmed him,

"Wha! Come on Nova show some respect and at least greet your friend."

The usually cold Nova let out a shy smile before quickly hiding it as the cheerful man said,

"Haha, Even in the apocalypse you never change, you would be surprised by how many of us look at you as support. If you change it really would be the end of the world."

The man let out a sigh before trying to smile again.

"Ugh, You should get out there more. We could die tomorrow but who would mourn you? Try saying this to the next woman you see 'Wouldn't we look cute on a wedding cake together?' Yeah?"

Zach smirked as he managed to get Nova to reply.

"Yeah, thanks, Zach. I'll try"

Zach let out a gleeful smile.

"There we go, what woman wouldn't want you if you talk like that"

"Come on Nova, we have to go" "Yeah"

The two men started to head towards the front of the train and soon they reached a container with a few people gathered inside. A few men and woman were gathered in front of a single beautiful lady. Her eyes were a gorgeous green and they flew around as if they were possessed and locked on to Nova and Zach. "Why are you late?" she snapped.

Zach's mouth opened up and down and tried to reply "Eek, well we were just uhh". Nova started to speak in his stead and Zach looked at him with grateful eyes. Nova opened his mouth and began to talk. "Wouldn't we look cute on a wedding cake together?".

At that moment Zach's whole world began crashing down. Tears began to seep down his eyes as he looked ready to be executed. Unexpectedly, the lady hands her hands to her face and began hiding. "W-well I would-wouldn't know".

Zach realized what was happening and looked at Nova for any reaction yet he kept his deadpanned look. "I guess the world won't end today" Zach muttered.

A moment later everyone was sitting in front of the woman as she stood in front of a map. She held a knife and hit it into a part of the map causing it to go pierce through the wood that was below it.

"This is our target, the scouts confirmed a boatload of supplies could be found there. I will supply a car with enough fuel to get there and back. Any questions?"

A young woman spoke up. She wore a uniform like the rest of the group and she looked at Amy stupidly.

"Amy, you do know that is our only map right?"

Amy tried to keep a confident facade.

"Yes"
