15 Return to the Apocalypse

[Beep... Warning: You have thirty minutes left before you return to the apocalyptic world. Please prepare, host.]

[Reminder: The time in the Second World will be paused during your absence.]

[Reminder: While you are in the Second World, time in the apocalyptic world will continue to flow, but the rate of time loss is not the same...]

Hearing the system's gentle notification, Seth slightly frowned.

According to the system's prompt, this meant that when he left this world to enter the apocalyptic world, time in the Second World would be paused relative to him.

Time in the Second World would only continue to flow when he entered it.

And the time he spent in the Second World did not equate to the same amount of time in the apocalyptic world.

Now, returning to the apocalyptic world, it could very well be the moment when the zombies were attacking.

Or it could be after the zombies had retreated.

All of this would only be known after Seth re-entered the apocalyptic world.

Damn it! If he re-entered the apocalyptic world at the moment when the zombies were attacking, wouldn't he be in a dire situation?

Thinking this, Seth considered whether to find some armor to take with him.

[Ding Dong! Reminder to the host: When you re-enter the apocalyptic world, the location of your arrival will have some deviation and will not be at the original location. The system will choose the nearest safe location for the host's safe arrival.]

Hearing this prompt from the system, Seth felt somewhat relieved.

Next, he began to stuff the collected supplies into the space cube.

"System, store the chainsaw, handgun, machete, and dog leash set into the space cube. I want to bring them to the apocalyptic world!"

[Okay, Master.]

As the system's voice sounded, the handgun, machete, and chainsaw that Seth had placed on the bed were selected by a red projection frame and then suddenly disappeared from their place.

In front of Seth, a projection appeared showing an inventory, which contained the following items: [Chainsaw (Second World)], [Handgun (Second World)], [Machete (Second World)], [5.56 Caliber Bullets*13 (Second World)], [Dog Leash SM Set], [Apparel (Apocalypse)], [Watch (Apocalypse)], [Homemade Spear (Apocalypse)].

Seth used his thoughts to select the [Chainsaw], and a line of text appeared next to it.

[Items from the Second World, to be taken to the apocalyptic world, will cost 3000 US dollars. The first exchange of items between worlds is free.]

Seth then selected the [Handgun] with his thoughts, and a similar line of text appeared.

[Items from the Second World, to be taken to the apocalyptic world, will cost 50000 US dollars. The first exchange of items between worlds is free.]

Seth again selected the [Bullets], and a line of text appeared next to them.

[Items from the Second World, to be taken to the apocalyptic world, will cost 3900 US dollars. The first exchange of items between worlds is free.]

Seth then selected the [Dog Leash SM Set], and a similar line of text appeared.

[Items from the Second World, to be taken to the apocalyptic world, will cost 3100 US dollars. The first exchange of items between worlds is free.]

Seth roughly estimated that to bring items from the Second World to the apocalypse would require more than ten times the amount of money from the Second World.

Seth couldn't quite see through how the conversion was calculated.

However, he found the price acceptable.

"I've already used 60,000 dollars of the quota, so there's 40,000 dollars left. I'll use the remaining amount to store food!"

Seth selected some of the food and drinking water he had prepared.

As the system projection's red frame appeared, only a small portion of the large amount of food and drinking water disappeared.

[Beep beep beep... System reminder: The host has exceeded the carry-over quota for the apocalyptic world...]

Seth was slightly startled and quickly checked the system's inventory.

Upon opening the [Food] section, he was astonished to find that five bottles of mineral water and ten steaks had cost a total of 43,100 dollars!

He removed the steaks and tried adding bread instead.

This time, it was significantly more.

He managed to store about thirty loaves of bread and several packets of compressed biscuits before hearing the system's alarm.

Now, Seth roughly understood the system's method of valuation.

It likely had to do with the rarity and importance of the items in the apocalyptic world.

Considering the importance of the supplies needed for survival in the apocalypse, Seth ultimately chose to carry ten bottles of mineral water and twenty packets of compressed biscuits, along with some anti-inflammatory medicine and bandaging supplies, using up all the free quota available.

After completing all this, with his energy nearly depleted, Seth checked the time and saw that there were only a few minutes left.

"System, take me back to the apocalyptic world!"

[Ding Dong! Initiating space-time travel...]

As the system's notification sounded, Seth's vision suddenly turned into a colorful vortex, and he felt as if he was being sucked into the sea by the vortex again. A strong sensation of dizziness and suffocation hit him once more.
