Update on Apex

I will be posting on this story within a few weeks-months. I am working on the next volume and want to have a few chapters done before I start posting so I can keep the updates regular and on time. I may be posting a few bonus chapters before the second volume, but that all depends on the inspiration I feel. I've known how I wanted the second volume to proceed for almost a year now, but I haven't had the time to work on it. I've been working on Apex for years, and only had the courage to post it online within the last year or so.

I'm currently working on the second volume, it will have at least 25 chapters like the first, but I might actually start writing it as an actual webnovel. The form of a webnovel is different from a traditional novel in that it proceeds slowly and gives many descriptions and explains everything in dept, whereas a regular novel may gloss over the unimportant details in favor of sticking to the story and keeping the chapter number down. Traditional novels have anywhere between 75,000 to 500,000 words, whereas webnovels usually have 500,000 words on the low side and upwards of 1,000,000 words on the higher side. The difference can be seen in the first volume of Apex which actually has under 75,000 words. I kept the word count low because I originally wanted to post it for sale as an ebook, and ebooks are usually shorter than traditional novels.

Speaking about writing and books, I edit all of my own as I am writing, so it can take longer for me to write than some others. If I don't like the way a novel is developing, I have scrapped the entire thing and started over before. That's actually what I did to the first draft of Apex. I had a little over 75,000 words and I re-wrote the entire thing because it didn't convey the FEELING that I wanted it to convey. Since then, I've not had to re-write an entire work, but that doesn't mean that I wont if I feel it will help it.

I am a mother and a wife, so I have certain responsibilities that I can't over look. It seems that every time I start to write, my son bursts into the room needing me for something. Since starting this update, he's come in three times asking for something. So, I really need to have a few chapters done before starting my posting in case I can't write for a few days. I also have two jobs that require a lot of my time which can make regular postings difficult. I am working (actively) on this novel and Respected, my other novel, so I have a lot on my plate currently. I'm posting this as an auxiliary chapter, I don't know if that will make this separate from the novel or not, hopefully it does, if not, then I will delete this chapter once I start to post the second volume.

Update: 8/19/2018- I have been working more on Respected than this novels second volume, to be able to put out a good second volume, I will be starting on writing this novels second in full force after the first volume of respected is done. I am writing Respected in real time at the moment and don't know when the first volume will end, but I wanted to keep you guys up to date.
