Every step Shiro took away from that motel room made him feel like multiple knives were being nailed to his heart, leaving him gasping for air.

He got in his car with his hand holding on his shirt as if it would bring back his breathing, but nothing could halt that piercing feeling inside him for he had just murdered himself. He ripped away, his trembling hand and started the engine, pressing on the gas pedal to get him away from her as quickly as possible for he could not dare nor afford to halt his actions nor to allow himself to look back even for a second. Because he was afraid that if he was to hesitate he would end up breaking down and running back to Lisa. Take her in his embrace like he had held her last night and let her know how much he meant those words of love that he had whispered to her. Words that he made them be a lie, with his own mouth.
