5 The Past

"It all started when my brother introduced his girlfriend to us." Dad said.

●●●●● Flashback( Do Joon Han POV) ●●●●●

"Mom, dad, brother, this is my girlfriend Emma." Brother smiled.

I looked in surprise as he introduced a girl us. I looked to my side and saw my mom and dad's delighted faces. After awhile we were already seated at the table, chatting while I was silently eating my food.

I felt someone staring at me and I raised my head to see that it was my brother. I was about to stand up when Emma brought me in the conversation.

"Your little brother looks so cute! How old is he? He looks just about the same age as my sister." She said. "He is nineteen actually. Don't be fooled." My brother answered. "Oh my sister is still seventeen. But they might ve good friends. Bring him to our house sometimes." She smiled

I finished my meal and went up to my room and layed in my bed. I felt betrayed actually. Me and my brother were supposed to be close how come I didn't know?

I stood up and walked to my computer and started playing Guild of Legends. (GOL)

I like to play to get my frustrations out. My brother said it wasn't good but right now I had nothing else to do.

' <Viper Malice> You there?' I typed.

'Yeah want me to call the others?'

'Nah. Let's just play.'

I played 10 games was about to play again when someone knocked at the door.

'Let's play again sometime. Something came up.'

I pressed enter and stood up to open the door.

"Hey there bud." He entered. "I bought some Hotteok on the way to Emma's house. "Here" He gave me five Hotteoks wrapped in a plastic rap. "Seriously?" I stared at him. "What?" He grinned.

"You can't be thinking that these Hotteoks will be enough to make me forgive you."

"Is it that bad?"

"Yes."

I took a bite and soon enough I ate all five. I hesitated but I couldn't take it anymore.

"You have more don't you?"

"What if I do?" He smiled innocently.

"Don't play games with me! If you won't give it I won't forgive you!" I growled. He smiled and threw a bag of Hotteoks. While I was munching the Hotteoks Do Jeon spoke.

"I'm sorry for not telling you."

"You should be."

"I know. I will tell you first from now on."

"... Fine..."

"What?"

"I forgive you..."

He smiled "Hug?"

"No I'm still eating."

He chuckled and pulled me into a hug. "Hey your squishing the Hotteoks!" I whined. "I'll by more." he still did not let go.

"Oh and by the way Emma wants you to come with us tomorrow. We're going to their house."

"And this is Amelia" Emma introduced me to her sister.

"Hi." she smiled weakly.

I nodded. After the chitchatting my brother and Emma left me to "Look after" Amelia. I was getting bored so I opened my laptop and played GOL after awhile I got bored again. I chatted with my guild members and we played some rounds. After awhile brother came back and took me home.

"Then?" I asked

"Well, my brother took me there every tuesday. And later on I started getting close to Amelia. She had a fragile body she couldn't always go to school so sometimes she stays home doing nothing." Dad said then paused.

"After sometime I started bringing Hotteok for Amelia since she always wanted to try them. Suddenly my brother made a decision to break up with Emma until this day I still did not know why. That time me and Amelia became close but because of the sudden event we couldn't see each other anymore. After sometime I just let it be continued on living like a normal human being. Then, one day I heard a team member of mine got admitted to the hospital. The guild members wanted to check but they were to faraway most of them had to ride a bus going here. So I went to the hospital and surprise surprise "

" It was mom." I finished.

"How'd you know?" He asked.

"Read plenty of stories. This plot is quite clichè."

He chuckled and continued. " The member's In-game name was actually "Viper Malice" she was one of the first members of the Guild tho, I thought she was a boy. I got mad and shouted at Amelia. 'Why on Earth did you not tell me' or something like that. But I forgave her. Andafter that we became more close and when I was out of uni I proposed to her. She said yes and we worked hard.

I worked on different types of part time jobs from dish washer, mascot , lawn mower to waiter and many others. One day I saw a poster about live streaming and showed it to Amelia. We both played together and worked hard to gain a fanbase and some money. We finally Earned enough money to build our own house and I started a small bussiness with Amelia.

No one knew that that small bussiness would oneday be the famous Gaming Corporation we have today. Sadly Amelia died shortly after you were born. And I was devastated I became a workaholic and tried to distance myself from you. I thought if I couldn't see you I might not be reminded of the tradegy that happened." when he finished the sentence tears were running down his face.

"I'm sorry Siwon I was a useless father. But I promise to make it up to you even if is costs my whole lifetime."

I didn't know why (or I might but I just wanted it to be more dramatic) but hot liquid started running down from my face too.

"Daad"I cried.

He hugged me and I started wailing like a little kid.

"Waaaaahhhh" I'm pretty sure I looked really ugly my nose dripping. ughhh. And most of all I was touching someone yes I did not miss that part. But right now I felt safe in my dad's arms like nothing could harm me.

We stayed like this for awhile till I fell asleep and dad probably carried me to my room.

Next morning I woke up and recalled everything thay happened then I remembered the hug. I felt skin but I didn't have panic attacks or anything this was the first time.

"Was I really not imagining things?" I muttered. I was sure I remembered correctly.

My thoughts were interupted when one of the maids called me for breakfast.

"Well I could always test things out." I said getting nervous.
