5 Return

"Ahh my stomach, this teleportation thing takes a lot out of you", Anvil said as he hunched over and began to look around and realized he was on the spot he had left from.

It was darker now and the sun had already set. Slowly he pulled himself up and tried to get his bearings.

Searching for the amulet around his neck it was nowhere to be found he began to panic and started to think if it all was an illusion or if he was poisoned by something he ate.

As soon as Anvil reached in his pocket he felt his knife he quickly pulled it out and saw that there indeed was a crystal embedded in a socket on it and he began to wonder where the amulet had gone.

As he inspected the knife it had a very faint glow "guess it wasn't an illusion after all" he murmured.

He then remembered he was on the run, but it was hard to find his way through the dense forest, Anvil could not see the stars of the night sky, only the light glimmer of the moon through the canopy of the trees.

He decided to climb a tree to look at the star filled sky and get the direction he needed to travel to reach Black Rock.

As Anvil looked in all directions he spotted smoke coming from not too far away from in the direction where he had run from it looked like someone had set up camp. "shit!" he had confirmed he was still being chased.

Anvil slowly made his way down the tree after getting the information he needed and began to make his way through the forest towards Black Rock.

It was too dark for him and he did not get far before he went down a small hill and rolled to a stop next to a big hollowed out log.

"Dammit I can't get anywhere like this. I am going to have to wait till it is lighter out, so I can see where I am going".

With no choice but to hide he stuffed himself inside the hollowed out log it was a very tight squeeze but he made it work. The musky smell of rotting wood was not pleasant, but he endured it through the night.

Anvil could not get much sleep through the night, as hard as he tried he woke up to every sound he heard from crunching of leaves to the breaking of twigs he would be pulled out of any nap he had tried to take.

As the forest began to get lighter he could once again see where he was going, and he decided to move once again. With a rough night he was feeling very sluggish as he trotted through the dense foliage.

All around him he heard birds chirping and saw small animals running around. Anvil paced through the forest he would stop to gather herbs, mushrooms and anything edible he came across.

As he looked around he was amazed at all the different kinds of trees he saw, back in his old village he never saw trees like these. A Great big tree stood out from all the rest with different color leaves and branches that looked out of the ordinary.

Anvil slowly walked up to it. As he got close it began to change colors "amazing." he whispered. He reached out his arm to touch the tree. It felt warm to the touch as he touched it the tree began to change colors once again. He looked up and could see all the leaves changing colors as well.

He walked around the tree and was still amazed not believing what he was seeing. 'This must be magic, maybe I could use it'

Anvil tried to cut out a piece of bark from the tree, but it was too tough, and his knife could not even leave a single scratch.

He then tried to break off one of the branches to no avail. As he was about to give up, on the ground he could see 3 multi colored seeds that looked like acorns "hmm, I'll be taking that" he whispered with a smile.

He reached down to grab the acorns, but it felt so heavy as he pulled and pulled it wouldn't budge.

" what? Impossible!" he shouted he tried another of the three but came to the same conclusion. He was about to give up once again as he kicked the third one it rolled over a couple times

"Ahh, my foot!" Anvil felt like he almost broke his foot. Confused he walked over to it and picked it up with two hands it felt very heavy. He looked at the other to acorns and saw roots coming out of them and going into the ground he then realized why they wouldn't move even though he put so much effort.

Anvil then remembered what the orb had told him he could transfer something to the Forge room he focused his mana on the object. 'One problem I lost that damned amulet' he thought.

he sat down with his back against the tree with the acorn in his hands he began to focus. Anvil had an idea. As he focused his mana he began to feel a warm sensation coming from his sternum where the amulet was hanging he realized he could feel the amulets aura.

He began to focus on the amulet and the acorn at the same time. small strands of mana flowed into the amulet and the acorn they both began to glow, and the acorn disappeared from his hands. "Yes! it worked" Anvil shouted

He slowly got up and felt a little dizzy and weak and sat back down. his stomach began to rumble. He then started to snack on the things he had foraged for until now and felt a little strength return to his body.

Suddenly, he heard barks coming from a distance the tree he was leaning against started to change color once again but this time it began to look like all the other trees. "shit what's going on." he whispered.

Anvil heard the barks once again but this time it was closer. His face went pale and he had felt a chill go down his spine.

He turned and took off running. Once again, he ran for his life branches, rocks, and thorny bushes, he did not care about them as they cut him all over as he ran past them.

Even though he was exhausted his adrenaline kept him going. He ran as hard and as fast as he could, but he still heard the bark getting closer and closer to him. 'Why are they still after me dammit?!' the thought went through his head.

Sweat was pouring down his scratched dirty face as he ran. Anvil pressed on bobbing and weaving through the trees and rocks. but suddenly, he tripped.

He tumbled to the ground as he gasped for air. Anvil had fallen and the air in his lungs was forced out all at once.

He crumpled up into the fetal position gasping for air as tears rolled down his cheeks.

Slowly the air came back to his lungs and he could breathe once again after letting out several coughs.

Eventually he regained his composure until he heard rustling of bushes and the cracks from broken twigs from where he had just run from.

His heart felt like it had stopped as he saw dark spiky fur weaving in and out through the trees and shrubbery. It ran through the dense vegetation like there was nothing slowing it down. As it came closer and closer he recognized what the Fury Hound looked like and began to tremble pressed up against the side of the tree he could see the hound was on to his scent.

It began to slow down as it got closer to where he was. As the fury hound approached where Anvil had fallen he could see its sharp teeth protruding from its mouth oozing with saliva. The beast's red eyes looked around as his nose was near the ground sniffing the scent.

The hounds fur began to stand up and it began to growl as claws began to extend and protrude from its paws.
