7 Ch. 5 - Elder Shou's Last wish

After flying for a few minutes, they reached a lake that was surrounded by mountains. At the centre of the lake, there was a large palace built on top of wooden platform. There were lamps lighting the place. Mike would have enjoyed the beauty of the scenery if his life was not at stake. The woman, who identified herself as Elder Mei, did not speak a word and took Mike inside a large hall. She chanted a some words and a magic circle appeared on the floor. Mike was asked to stand on the centre.

After he entered the circle, Elder Mei, cut her fingers and dropped a little blood on the magic circle. Soon, the magic circle activated. Winds began to gather under Mike's feet and lifted him up in the air. Elder Mei's blood turned into a ball and started exerting some attractive force towards Mike's body. The seal placed on his heart began to react to the ball of blood. The seal broke and turned into countess droplets of blood which exited his body through the accupoints. They once again coagulated to from a ball which began revolving around Elder Mei's blood. She promptly deactivated the formation and received the ball of Elder Shou's blood. After injecting her qi in the ball of blood a ray of light shot out and transformed into a screen. Mike knew that the information that was to be revealed next was definitely crucial and he would most likely be killed if he heard such information. So he tried to leave the hall. But to his dismay, he found that he was rooted in place by a strong force. He looked towards Elder Mei, only to find her glaring coldly at him. Helpless, he gave up on leaving but tightly closed his eyes and ears while loudly singing his favourite song.

Actually Mike was over-thinking. How could Elder Shou make such an elementary mistake when he had taken the pains to create such an elaborate seal just for the sake of conveying the message. The message was only perceivable by elder Mei.

Elder Mei ignored Mike's foolish actions and began focusing on the message playing in her head.

"My dear little sister, by the time you are watching this message, I would have long since passed onto the afterlife. I never thought that my life would come to an end so suddenly, far away from my family. When I went out this time, I had a faint premonition that a fatal danger would befall me. It was been decades since I felt such a premonition. I ignored the feeling as a fluke, I guess becoming an elder in the Dragon Gate sect had made me arrogant. I had to pay for my arrogance with my life.

My sister, you are the only family I have in this world. I know it is the same for you. It pains me more knowing how devastated you will be with my death but alas, I am powerless. Obviously, a grand elder would not dare to take revenge for them, even though Netherworld Devil Sect is also one of the 5 great sects. So the family members members devised an ingenious plan to take their revenge, I was able to read the memories of one of the attackers and found out about their devious plans. Every last one of them has already feigned their death and have completed their last rites in public. They used a forbidden technique they received from the Grand Elder, to burn their souls in order to land a deadly attack on me. After attacking they all destroyed their bodies which mean that we have no evidence of their crimes. They must have known that you would attack and kill the rest of the family in order to take revenge for me. But that would hurt the dignity of the Netherworld Devil Sect.

We have been a part of the Dragon Gate Sect for such a long time, so you must know that our sect cannot fight against another of the 5 great sect as per the accord signed centuries ago. That means your attack will cause our sect to pay heavy reparations to the Devil sect and your life will also be forfeit. I do not wish to see such an end. This attack was the last-ditch effort of that fallen family and all that remains are some inconsequential members. I do not want you to sever your future in exchange for the worthless lives of these ants. So please listen to the last wish of your willful brother and send me off with a smile. I will be looking over your future achievements from the afterlife. Don't you dare come after me.
