3 Sam's past

Sam could barely even see a couple feet in front of him. The pitch dark, and rain weren't helping, but mainly he misplaced his glasses earlier that day and now hew as almost blind. All this wasn't helping as he raced through the woods, hurdling branches, and geting cut every couple seconds on a branch. He was also easily the most unathletic in the school, and that didn't help his odds of outrunning the bullies either.

Why had he even chose to help Annabelle out? He was her longtime crush who had never noticed him. But even if she wasn't he couldn't let her be harassed by those boys for not dating one of them.

Now he was stuck running from those brainless jocks. Just because he was doing the right thing.

Isn't that what adults always say? Always do the right thing when no one is watching? Integrity? That's what his parents had said Sadly the school couldn't control the bullying going on even on its own grounds. And sadly people had been watching, sadly the wrong people. And now he was being chased though the woods by brainless jocks just waiting to get beat up.

The worst thing, was they were soon approaching bug lake.

Sam had had an awful bullying incident as a young kid. His older step brothers had been playing with him in the lake at the summer cabin. But the horse play had gone too far. Sam was dragged under water for an extremely long amount of time. He had water inside his lungs.

The worst part is, his step father had believed the stepbrothers story, that young Sam had swam out to far and almost drowned, when the stepbrothers saved him.

They never got in trouble at all. And Sam himself got in trouble for not being careful enough. He couldn't even fight back, because he would probably just get injured more and he was smart enough to know his boundaries.

But now he was deathly afraid of the water, knowing if he got in he would be vulnerable to the same type of assault as before.

Soon the older kids closed in on Sam at the clearing near the lake.

"Can't run from us! " They shouted at him

Soon they were backing him off of the edge.

"P... please... don't" Sam stammered "Not the w... water p... please"

And with that Sam was shoved hard into the water. Because of his lack of ever being in the water as a young kid, Sam didn't know how to swim.

He sank to the bottom, and the guardian angel placed him on the other side of the pond after the bullies had left. He guided Annabelle without her knowing towards him when she went on the walk to save him. He had used the last of his physical powers on earth for the day and was extremely strained.

But before she got to him he transferred the power of fire into Sam and the power of water her into Annabelle.

-----------

Oh no! She thought

This was the cute litle nerd that had stood up for her in class to those brutes. He must had gotten bullied by them after school.

When Cpr didn't work, she went for mouth to mouth and touched her soft lips to his.

He sat up slowly coughing a lot.

Little did he know, when they had done mouth to mouth it had been right when Jeremy put the powers in them. They weren't fully sunk in, so the powers transferred and switched between them. And now that they had fully settled, they could never be changed back again.
