"Alright." and there, Wang Liu was convinced to change his plans.

It wasn't like he was going to force his son to do exactly as he was told. But if his son had a plan to win the Tournament then it better be a good one because the calculated chances his son could win judging by his current aspects and position is 1/677 chances.

That means he has to overcome the odds by 677 times perfectly by either brute force or cunning wit.

Although Wang Liu believed that numbers wouldn't lie, the future results will. That's why he must monitor his son's action from time to time to see if he can actually find the motivation he needs.

Suddenly, an idea struck his head.

Wang Liu looked at Ben Li who was looking back at him. And he couldn't help but reminisce the times back then.

My, had he grown to such a bloody headache.

His son, Wang Xie but a fragile infant in his arms who glowed brightly like a Christmas tree.

He was determined to see where his son will end up in the top of the world and how will he leave his mark in history.

But alas, his son had grown to such a rotten apple before he was ripped for the picking. Becoming someone that he wished he disowned.

He wished his son would actually take some interest in scholarships but it seems that the only thing he like was power and sex.

Come to think of it, this attitude of his was no different from his wife, Wang Qi Lian.

But she was more overbearing and selfish and Wang Xie was nothing but a cute tyrant compared to a Crime lady like her.

And then he sighed as he thought that no man could possibly suppress a sadistic dominatrix like her in the bed.

Those awful times indeed...

However, she was dead. And now the only one who can inherit her legacy is this bastard before him.

Wang Liu suppressed those emotions and remained impassive in his expression. He then opened his mouth to say. "I guess it's time that I give it you."

"What?" Ben Li didn't know what was Wang Liu talking about but he spoke no further when the latter whipped out a metal box from his storage ring and held it in his hands.

The metal box was silver in color. Its outer metallic layers were symmetrically engraved with talisman icons runes which shrouded it in invisible layers of powerful protection and security.

With the sudden appearance of this metal box, Ben Li's blood abruptly began to boil wildly. He couldn't help but get flustered and agitated when he looked at this metal box. He panted deeply for air but it seems he wanted to suck in the box into his mouth. He was baffled that he felt like this.

There something inside that box and it was calling out to him. Tempting him to take it!

"Makes your blood boil, right?" contrary to his son's reaction, Wang Liu remained calm and composed as he held the box before him. Seemingly unaffected by its inducing aura. Then he said. "This metal box here contains the key to the inheritance left by your late mother.

"Before she passed away, her last will stated that his son must pass certain criteria before he can possess the key to all her possessions hidden in an abandoned immortal cave.

"Although she didn't state what those criteria are, she probably meant that I must give this to you when I think you're ready.

"Here, take it." Wang Liu passed along the metal box to his son and said. "Since I gave it to you, it now belongs to you. Find that inheritance using the key inside. Be sure that only you can inherit it and no one else will.

"However, if you found yourself revoked from such a fortunate fate, then don't take your mother's inheritance by force. This is my warning. Do you understand?"

Ben Li's eyes remained glued to the metal box in his hands but he nodded at Wang Liu nonetheless as he heeded.

His blood kept boiling and boiling and made him feel hot. He was growing concern why his body acted this way without his control.

Did something inside somehow triggered his blood to agitate? Why is it causing him to throw his thoughts into disorder?

"It's mine, huh? Can I open it?" asked Ben Li to Wang Xie.

"You can try." gestured Wang Liu with a shrug. Then Ben Li put one hand on the lid and tried to pull the box open. But it didn't open.

Ben Li frowned how the box wasn't building open despite the strength he was exerting bit by bit. Then, he put the box down on the ground and tried to open it with two hands. Only to find out that even two hands and a foot couldn't make this box nudge.

What was this?

A box that he couldn't open?

Ben Li looked up to see Wang Liu with his placid face looking down on him. He couldn't help but frown in disbelief.

Was he pranking me?

No way, right?

Judging by his demeanor, he seems like the serious type who doesn't play around even with his kids.

So, what's his deal?

Why give him a box that wouldn't open?

Ben Li was silent as he mused, after a while, he asked. "I can't open this box why?"

"It's no surprise that you can't open it. That's because the 1st test in possessing the heritage is to open this box."

"Open this box, huh?" what an interesting test. Ben Li thought.

The very first hurdle challenge and it already made him flustered for answers.

If the 1st test is like this, are the other test interestingly difficult than the 1st as well?

Ben Li was intrigued at the same time annoyed.

Tests like these are only reserved for protagonists who needed the power-up soon as possible. Yet, he is the Antagonist but even he needs stuff to get stronger.

Why do I need to go through some tests?

What does Wang Xie's mother expect of him anyway?

Ben Li wanted to throw a tantrum. But he knew it wasn't his place since this was actually Wang Xie's fate to inherit.

Seeing the troubled face his son was making, Wang Liu couldn't help but become disappointed.

To think you brag about being a genius. Yet, here you are having trouble opening a bloody box?

But even though it was troubling, Wang Liu will have to give him 1 piece of advice for his son to get going. Plus, he's time gone wasted here. So, he said. "Let me give you a piece of advice. Clear your mind. Then open it."

After saying that, Wang Liu took his leave. Ignoring his son making a frown as if he didn't understand.

Whatever. It's not he gets a piece of the cake. Why should he bother helping him grow when he has to get stronger all by himself?

Thus, Wang Liu left the room. Leaving only Ben Li alone as his face contorted angrily.

The heck?!

Clear my mind and then open it?!

How cliché can you get?!

I can't believe that the first thing you gift to your son is actually some bloody box that can't be open without an empty head.

And you actually had the cheek to leave like some haughty expert with that generic cliché?

This. Is. Bullshit!

Ladies and gentlemen, give a round of applause to Wang Liu. An idiot whose demeanor is so dank you wouldn't believe what he left for his son as his first birthday gift.

AAAAHHH!!!

... Sigh...

"Whatever, I should discuss this Wang Xie later and get some plans started."

Ben Li stood up and took the metal box inside his storage ring.

He left the room for good and headed towards his residence.

As soon as he got there, he saw Lu Qing standing alone. Wearing her servant robes looking prettier than ever before.

Especially since she breathed the aura of a cultivator. Giving herself potential charm.

"Young master." Lu Qing smiled seeing her young master coming back and gave him a welcoming bow.

Then after the formalities, Lu Qing checked to see if anyone was nearby watching them.

Seeing that it was only them around, Lu Qing walked forward to give her young master a kiss. Soaking both their lips wet with that peck alone.

"Young master, can I ask you a favor?" asked Lu Qing while seductively licking her lips.

"..."

What the hell?

This cheeky little girl dared to be bold as to use the honey trap on me?

Ben Li was already in a bad mood. Seeing how this girl had gone impudent as too even go so far to seduce her young master to do his bidding, he scoffed at her gripped her shoulders. Pushing her body against the wall.
