32 Playing a winner game

Ever played the video game: Assassin's creed?

It was a game based on the story of fictional characters in historical eras back in Ben Li's real world. And aside from its redundant use of revenge plots and playboy Main Characters, the interesting part of the video game was you get to re-live the lives of your ancestors using the machine called the 'Animus' that analyzes the codes within your DNA... Or something along those lines.

Anyways, with those kinds of game plot settings, Ben Li was inspired over and over to write a plot about re-living the lives ancient powerful experts from glorious eras dating back to the First Immortal era. All so Ling Xiufeng, the MC, could get even more over-powered to the point where Heavens would cry tears of frustration if he keeps that kind of trend going.

And akin to diving into the memories of a certain person of some historical era, the world around Ben Li was generated according to how the person remembers everything throughout his/her life. Which by the way, is a flaw to the laws of world-generating.

You see, when generating a world based on your memories, the gaps in your memories don't just fill up on their own. And if you tried to, then they wouldn't be called true memories but false ones instead. That's why, the world generated would just leave that space blanked with pure whiteness.

In layman's terms, you can't generate what you can't remember. Meaning, the world generated wouldn't fill something that you don't remember in your memories with something and it'll just have to settle with a blank sheet of nothing but white.

Remembering this flaw (that he had written himself, by the way) had allowed Ben Li to discover what this world around him truly was and now realized what he had to do.

Looking at the other side of the door where there was nothing but blank sheets of pure white, Ben Li couldn't help but feel giddy all over as excitement overcame him. But he soon calmed his urge to assimilate all the memories and knowledge belonging to Ming Jian Ming and quickly put his priorities first.

Firstly, he has to find the memento of this very set of memories playing right now.

Mementos are what we call 'gifts of the vicissitudes'. You know how they say: It's not easy to forget you since you gave me so much to remember'? Well, memento are the very things that kept this play of memories alive. Everything that was living and breathing in these very memories are held hostage by the very memento that reminded the person events that happened long time ago.

Finding the memento was the very first goal when coming into the Memory Lane of Glorious Vicissitudes. Find and secure it, then the very memories of this events, the knowledge of Cultivation possessed by Ming Jian Ming, the secrets engraved deep within her soul, the benefits gained by the experiences that had happened, are all yours to keep.

Otherwise, if you tried to assimilate the memories without securing the memento first then your efforts are useless as it was crucial to possess the memento. And without it, the memories you tried so hard to keep will be forgotten once the time limit was done.

Secondly, he has to ascertain how much time is limited in these memories.

As they say, time is of the essence. And knowing how much time he has left was crucial for Ben Li to determine how much planning he has to devise himself.

If it only takes a few hours then Ben Li can only lament of how little the time here was. If it takes so long as a year, then Ben Li will probably die from identity crisis and live his whole life as Ming Jian Ming herself. Forever forgotten the memory of Ben Li.

At most, the amount of time he only needed was one-to-three days. During which, he must divide his time into searching what memorable object in these memories were worth calling Mementos and experiencing what these set of memories had to offer. Be it a life-threatening situations or boring cultivating sessions, Ben Li must take his time to immerse himself in her memories all the while not forgetting who he truly was.

Thirdly, Ben Li must ascertain how much memories of Ming Jian Ming he possessed currently to specify what advantage he held in this role-playing game of remembering.

And to his realization, Ben Li discovered that he possessed, since the time when Ming Jian Ming became aware of her surroundings until tomorrow's night, about 1 day of new updated memories.

Meaning, tonight, he can predict the future. Which gave him a huge advantage in this scenario.

However, the future he could predict can only be so shallow and narrow with no different possibilities as the future he predicted was only a straight path of what Ming Jian Ming remembered.

Meaning, if he knew something embarrassing was going to happen to him in less than 5 minutes, then Ben Li must not avoid it and tread forward while acting oblivious. Letting that embarrassing moment happen to him as he plays the scripts of Ming Jian Ming.

That also means if Ming Jian Ming's death is certain to happen within one minute, then Ben Li mustn't avoid it if he wants to get out of these memories or else he will be consumed by Ming Jian Ming herself.

That's why it was secondly important for Ben Li to know how much time he has left so he can make a clear schedule of what to do whether he should play along or start experiencing everything.

But of course, it was imperative to find and secure that memento first lest his efforts here are all for naught.

Lastly, playing his script as Ming Jian Ming.

Certainly, as he could predict the future she remembered, the script was also laid out and relayed in his mind.

But because the script was for Ming Jian Ming herself, he had to act like her for the rest of the entire memories playing out lest "Desynchronization" will kick in and kick him out of her memories.

What Desynchronization means was what the rules stated when playing an Assassin's creed game. Don't kill civilians, don't fail missions, and certainly, don't die unless you remembered that you have to die.

Similarly, Ben Li must abide to those rules as well. Meaning, kill only those that were to be killed, complete whatever tasks was remembered taken and die willingly and obliviously to his predicted demise as he follows along the Memory Lane.

Ben Li had some hesitations to follow Ming Jian Ming's script as you know... She's a girl. And Ben Li's life as a man had some incompatibility if he tries to presume the identity of the opposite sex.

Luckily for him, Ming Jian Ming was a tomboy. An extreme tomboy on top of that. In fact, she was so tomboyish that only a few fingers knew she was a girl under the guise of a man. And this facade had been going on since the time she wielded her first sword.

Acting like a boy throughout her life, of course she had developed a taste for lesbian pleasure. An extreme taste of pleasure on top of that.

And sure enough, living with such a desperate taste, she had managed to capture the heart of a certain girl. Her girlfriend, Fang Bingxu. And boy had they kept it going...

Anyways, living the tomboy life, Ming Jian Ming never had a fiancé of the opposite sex or anyone who was willing to court her. Which made Ben Li relieved from his worries.

Imagine reincarnating as a girl with the memories of a boy, can a person live with that? The incompatibility was unbearable enough and surely the person said would complicate herself what taste she has to live with.

Putting that aside, it seems Ben Li was even more lucky as he discovered what deep background Ming Jian Ming herself possesses.

Her achievements in life are even impeccable. Enough to impress most experts in the current era.

Cultivated the most difficult Sword Art of generations to Perfect accomplishment while she was only 14 years old.

Slayed alone 15 powerful demons above her Cultivation realm with a single sword attack.

A war hero who had ended 45 battlefields that were diehard to win.

A conferred Sword Knight selectively dubbed by his Majesty, the emperor himself.

Current wielder of the Empire's 12th ranked Regalia Sword, the sword of Redemption.

One of the favorite candidates of becoming a noble hero serving under the crown prince.

Achiever of countless chivalrous deeds that made minstrels sing about her for months.

30% of her achievements alone could astound the entire Empire and many high rankings officials, including his majesty, the emperor himself expects nothing less from her.

All that, and nobody knows yet that she was a girl all along!

If Mulan herself isn't impress, then who is?

With that kind of background, it was no wonder that Quasi-Holy Saint guard showed no disrespect for her despite the fact that his cultivation was stronger than hers. Even willing to overlook his underling's plight.

The Empire emphasizes a lot on its Meritocracies and Ming Jian Ming's achievements made her the prince she was today.

Well, the important thing was, Ben Li can just act how he usually acts without minding his girly constitution.

Yay! Let's go have fun being a girl...

It took a while for Ben Li to get his mind aligned with his priorities. He took a deep breath before assessing his surroundings.

First thing he noticed was the place he was currently standing. This was not his stage to play.

Where he should be at right now is where the real party was held and where Ming Jian Ming's comrades were gathering.

With that in mind, Ben Li flew into the air and hurriedly left the building.

And as he expected of the world generated based on memories, the world was too small to remember. Spanning about only 100 kilometers in diameter and that isn't even half of the entire size of the Empire's palace. Which was like the size of a country within a bigger country.

He looked up and saw the starry skies lighting up the black night. He could even see planets high above joining the stars which could only mean it was almost the time for another year to pass.

But Ben Li didn't care about how baffling and pretty the skies were tonight as that was only the one of the tiniest illusions in Ming Jian Ming's memories. What he had to do right now was hurry off to were her comrades were gathering and find if the memento was there.

If not, then he must go where Fang Bingxu was at and spend the remaining time with her. And if it's not with her, then the only possibility which Ben Li could imagine was that the memento was with her master.

Which was whom Ming Jian Ming was desperately trying to avoid for some time.

Soon enough as he kept flying in a certain direction, the crowd around him grew from hundreds to thousands and they all gathered around a huge majestic building with a gorgeous man-made rectangular lake as it's front yard.

Towering Pagodas that reached the skies were placed everywhere around this building and those were only designed to be decoration for this very building he was looking at.

Ben Li gulped in trepidation as he saw the masses numbering the thousands all teeming inside that very building. He had never seen so many people in one place before.

Sure, he had been to a basketball stadium and cheered for his favorite team along with thousands of fans seated beside him. But to see thousands upon thousands of guests attending to an annual party held every year? Now that's borderline insanity.

How was a party going to host so many people? Even these thousands of people were only 1/3 of the attendees gathered. The amount of money spent must be staggering.

But Ben Li was only concerned about it for a while before losing interest. After all, these memories and experiences were indeed valuable for him but sometimes, it was utter useless to take note of. Like filler chapters of your favorite Webnovel.

Quickening his pace, he flew into the building while discreetly entering without catching anyone's attention. Soon enough, he arrived at the place where his comrades were gathered.

Or so it seems but he had just been stopped right before the entrance of a private room were her comrade's private party was being held.

"I'll have to stop you here, good sir. Beyond this door is a private party of the great 30 conferred Sword Knights of the Glorious Empire. No one is invited inside except for the 30 conferred Sword Knights themselves."

A Quasi-Holy Saint guard who stood by the entrance with another Quasi-Holy Saint guard, said to Ben Li politely as he could. Yet, the guard failed to hide his arrogance and the contemptuous gaze he held for Ben Li before him.

Trying to enter the private party of the esteemed heroes of our empire, who the hell do you think you are?!

You think our heroes are so easy to meet that you can just waltz in say hi?! Even standing as their guards now is already an honorable deed. What can some trifling like you do to please them?

Peh! Lowly aristocrat trying to fawn his luck dry...

"Oh, I'm not invited? I see." Seeing that kind of gaze directed towards him, Ben Li grew annoyed but didn't care enough to show it. After all, this scene was part in the script. All he was going to do was flow along.

However, it seems he might have to make some slight alterations to his script and lessen his conversation times because the more he endured talking to arrogant pricks like these guards, the more likely he was urged to kill all.

Although, Ming Jian Ming was a very famous hero, her appearance wasn't always the same. Each time she changes dresses, it seems that she had transform into another person. And right now, she wasn't wearing that uptight Knight uniform of the empire that made her strikingly dashing for the ladies to sigh in frenzy but was wearing instead the traditional attire for men that unintentionally seeps out the aura of the last bit of her femininity.

Perhaps that last Quasi-Holy Saint guard he met was too wary of his surroundings that he immediately recognized Ming Jian Ming at first glance but the guard in front of him showed no signs of recognizing who he was right now. And that made him even more pissed.

Time for some payback!

"Don't worry about it, mate." said Ben Li as he forced a smile. "Just tell Sir Tyrant that I, little Ming, am here waiting by the entrance with an important message to relay for him. And I'm sure he'll vouch for my invitation immediately and reward you grandly for your hard work."

"Reward me grandly?" it seems the guard had ignored what Ben Li was asking him to do and only heard that there was a reward. Which only pissed Ben Li off and scoffed in his heart for his greed.

"Relay the message to me. I'll send it to him in your stead." said the guard with a threatening look.

"Much obliged!" Ben Li didn't mind his threat and happily sent the message to him via Telepathic Communication.

Telepathic Communication was a skill once acquired when one reaches Foundation Formation Realm. And naturally, this method of communicating was far easier for Ben Li to manage. Instantly sending the message to the guard with a single thought.

The guard was suspicious at first but seeing how the person before him was obligated to do his bidding and even go as far as sending the message via telepathic communication, it just goes to show how serious this message was and it may be imperative to relay it to sir Tyrant at this very moment.

After receiving the message, the guard wasted no time at all and swiftly entered the private room after knocking.

Waiting for a while, Ben Li leaned against the wall nearby the entrance and rummaged through his pockets. Immediately pocketing out a sweet candy shaped like a sword wrapped in plastic.

The Sword candy, one of Ming Jian Ming's favorite candies to bite on.

Unwrapping the plastic from the candy, Ben Li put the candy in his mouth and started sucking it like a lollipop.

He waited like this patiently for a while under the menacing gaze of the other guard beside him. And it was irritating for Ben Li to stay composed under this.

"Want some?" asked Ben Li as he showed his candy to the guard to which the latter immediately decline.

"You sure? It might be your last, y'know?" Ben Li winked at him as he smiled.

The guard was instantly confounded by what he just said before scoffing it off as nonsense. But at the next moment, a furious roar rang about from the private room.

"How dare you keep sir Ming at bay in the entrance without realizing who he is!"

"Sir Tyrant, please have mercy on my soul! I didn't know!"

"I don't want to hear it! Shut up and scram!"

Along with that furious roar that shook the ground, a loud bang was heard and the guard who had entered inside the room, was blown away by a hard blow so fatal that it threw him through the walls and collide with the other guard on the other side.

With a force that could break boulders to crumbs, the guards were blown away like rag dolls. Their bodies crashed and tumbled on the hard ground harder and farther until the both crashed themselves on the wall on the far side of the building. Which was 5 kilometers away.

Ben Li saw the two guard's plight with a warm-hearted smile on his face. And he was even more pleased that their bodies were dug into the walls in a form of two ' ' characters.

Hmph, serves them right. Trying to be arrogant in front of me. If I didn't hold back, then even my arrogance can send you both flying alone.

Then, as if culprit who had sent those guards flying had calmed down for a moment, his voice suddenly echoed. "Comrade, come in. We've been expecting you."

Only then did Ben Li stood up from leaning against the walls and entered the private room. Greeted by a man in chivalrous uniform with a stiff smile on his face.
