7 Crushing him easily

In the study of souls, there is one theoretical analysis that was proven to be correct for all times.

Souls... Cannot see, cannot hear, cannot taste, cannot smell and most importantly, they cannot sense touch.

It was because the very fundamental structures of souls were very fragile for it to interact the outside world with cognitive senses to begin with. In fact, even just the slightest touch will crumble the primordial essence they house like a falling tower losing its only main pillar. Becoming a state of rubble that is impossible to repair.

There were many underlying theories to why souls never develop cognitive senses or even supernatural senses no matter how much a cultivating expert tamper the structures of his soul. But one theory was stated to be the most credible out of all the theories about souls ever explained.

The reason why souls never develop cognitive abilities was because a soul was but a single entity with the sole purpose of housing our own primordial essence, not a vessel like a human body which houses the soul itself. But even if the soul's structures were changed to that of a human body's fundamental structures, it will never develop the cognitive abilities we so dearly cling onto in our everyday lives because the soul was extremely sensitive to the changes of heaven and earth and it is believed that even the slightest sensing of Cosmic Ripples could disintegrate the soul without a trace if it were able to detect it.

That is why souls never develop any cognitive abilities in order to safeguard the fragile structures of itself just like a deaf man safe from hearing the nonsense of the world. (wow, I just skipped pass crazy and went to mystery, huh?)

However, what does that mean to Ben Li's soul that has attained its own unique cognitive ability?

If he had heard this believable theory, he would have thrown that nonsense out of the window in an instant and asked "What am I then?" as a rhetorical question. (now we're back to crazy.)

Ben Li's soul... Had not just transformed from its perpetual state of being a single fragile entity but had evolved into a vessel with multiple protection layers that guard his soul core. Becoming an existence with the potential to grow.

Though it is very true that his soul will likely perish as it detects the Cosmic ripples from its surroundings, but with his fundamental structures and primordial essence all contained in his soul core and with his soul core protected by the defensive layers devoid of gaps, detecting Cosmic ripples would be the least of Ben Li's worries.

With the results of this miraculous transformation, his soul had awakened the potential to evolve. Had grown in mass to heighten its defense. Had become a soul that was more mysterious compared to any other.

His soul had become a higher level of existence.

And right now, that higher level of existence was lividly staring down on a glyph like a God looking down on a sinner before deciding its final judgment.

The glyph trembled as it fluctuated apparent emotions. The emotions of distress, confusion and fear were lingering around it like a triple colored hazy aura.

"How dare you... Hurt her!!!" Ben Li's soul had detected with its new found senses the situation outside his body. And wrath began to fill his mind.

Boom!

His soul pulses out this wrath once and issued a rippling wave that shook the whole mindscape, targeting the glyph with its concentrated killing intention. Killing intention capable of damaging the soul.

"Puh?!"

Back in the physical realm, Chao Long spurted out another mouthful of blood. He was weakened as a result and fell to his knees with his crimson eyes narrowing in absolute fear.

"How is this p-p-p-possible?!" stuttered Chao Long with a bloody jaw. "Soul Awakening... The true goal of the Demonic Hades Imperial Gospel... How is the possible that you had your soul awaken with only the 1st commandment?!"

Although it looked like Chao Long was asking this himself hysterically, it was clear he was asking Ben Li's soul inside the body.

Ben Li didn't reply. He wanted to end this now and talking to him will only stall his time.

Thus, without further ado, Ben Li's soul pulsed again. Sending another pulse attack targeting the glyph.

Chao Long already didn't look good after receiving the attack from Ben Li's soul. His face was pale and his body was convulsing. Just one more punch was enough to knock him out. But receiving another pulse attack, he couldn't tolerate it any longer after he spurted blood again. He surrendered his control over the body he tried to possess.

As Chao Long lost control, his consciousness returned back to the glyph and used its sensing properties to look at Ben Li's soul. He felt like an ant compared to the other party's mountain size soul vessel.

So Powerful! Chao Long couldn't help but be overwhelmed. He didn't think that an awaken soul would be so powerful. In fact, he didn't think that souls had such power to begin with.

To have him crumbling down by his one-sided moves without a chance to retaliate all in the matter of seconds... just how powerful must a soul be to accomplish this feat? Chao Long couldn't even imagine the difference in their magnitude.

Flee!

Chao Long had nothing other than that thought running in his mind.

Thus, he flashed away with his glyph. Rushing towards the portal of hell that was still open inside Ben Li's mindscape.

But how could he think of escaping when he is inside the mindscape belonging to the God of imagination?

Before he could even get away by just an inch, Chao Long felt a soul-crushing pressure crashing on him from above. Sending his glyph body down before he could react.

Chao Long tried to break free. But the pressure crashing down on him was reminiscent to a pillar falling from the heavens. It was if that pillar was thrown by God to suppress the evil.

"Ahh!!!" Chao Long cried an anguish scream as he felt himself dissipating from the pressure grinding him to bits. The glyph that housed his consciousness was losing its arcane halo faster than he could think. And before he noticed, he could no longer feel the power to flee.

As Ben Li saw the glyph had lost its glow, he didn't dispel the pressure he had summoned but had instead reduced its power so that he wouldn't accidentally crush it to death.

But his anger hadn't died down by a bit. And he wanted to torture this glyph slowly for a day before explaining things to Wang Xie and handing down this glyph for him to torture.

But clearly, he had no time for that.

He has to see what happened to Lu Qing first.

With a thought, an invisible force had pulled the glyph far away from the portal and sealed all its possible escape paths.

After doing so, Ben Li concentrated in his mind to feel Wang Xie's body. Realizing that he can take control once again, Ben Li didn't dawdle and returned to live once more.

...

Lu Qing stood in a daze in the middle of the room. Trying to process what had just transpired yet she couldn't help but feel as if it was all just a bad dream.

But the stinging pain she felt after being slapped, thrown and hit in the nose was enough to make her realize the reality of the situation.

She tilted her head and looked down on her young master, who was lying on the floor motionlessly. His blood drenched the floor underneath his body after coughing out blood twice. If one got the wrong idea, they might have thought Ben Li got murdered.

The bloodcurdling sight made Lu wing gasp in horror. She didn't dawdle and rushed towards his lifeless body.

She pulled his body to turn it facing up and pressed her ear on his chest.

No heartbeat.

Lu Qing's heart thumped in fear.

"Young master... Young master?!" Lu Qing grabbed his shoulders and shook him. But he remained lifeless without a breath.

He needs resuscitation.

Lu Qing then moved to press her hands above his chest and began to pump to resuscitate him. But after 10 pumps, his heart still wasn't pumping.

Lu Qing moved again and brought her mouth to his and gave air inside her young master's lungs. Then, she went back to pumping his chest.

"Young master! Young master! Young master!" Lu Qing called him out consecutively with teary eyes glistening. Then she went back to giving him air with her mouth and only then did her young master started to move.

Her young master was convulsing at the start. Then he began to breathe raggedly. He coughed consequently until blood was splattering out of his mouth and weakness began to overwhelm him.
