28 A Partner's betrayal

"Chi chi chi! (Down, goes the Führer!)" cheered the squirrel with its paws in the air as Ben Li fell to his hell. Then it scurried off like the adorable creature full of innocence it was as it couldn't wait to go home and brag its war achievement to its friends.

""Ah?!"" both Ben Li and Ran Ranxu squealed in pain as their heads crash onto each other. They felt their brains shaking from concussion and struck them dizzy.

Both of them felt their own cranium were cracking from the intense collision and made it hard for them to think what had actually happened.

Eventually, Ben Li was the first to regain his senses. Shaking his head as he groaned, he first noticed that he was mounted on top Ran Ranxu's body. Then it was her turn to wake up. Shaking her head as she groaned, she finally noticed that Ben Li was mounted on top of her.

"Wha-what are you doing?! Get off me!" agitated by her current situation, she abruptly pushed Ben Li off with her hands. With the Strength of her current mastery, she could easily subdue Gate Practitioners with just raw strength alone. Thus, being pushed by her had sent Ben Li flying back high up before falling back on his butt.

Both of the stood up on their feet faster than they could think and looked at each other in a stare down.

Ben Li cursed the squirrel in his heart before analyzing his surroundings to find a way to escape this situation.

Eventually, Ben Li noticed that Ran Ranxu was currently disarmed of her Greatsword.

His eyes lit up and looked everywhere. Then he saw her great sword was lying on the ground just 10 meters away from them. Seeing her main source of strength just in his reach had given him some hope to escape away and avoid a fight. And without hesitation, he flickered as he executed Dragon Stepping Bolt and rushed to pick up her Sword.

"What do you think you're doing?!" noticing his sudden action, how could she not realize that this bastard wants to take her sword away?

But she wasn't worried and huffed coldly. She calmly made a grasping gesture towards her sword and commanded." Ming Ming, come!"

Ben Li's expression turned grim as the sword trembled all over and was about to fly into her hands. But he managed to grabbed the hilt first before it could hover and gripped it tightly.

Seeing this, Ran Ranxu was unfazed and sneered. Just when she thought that sword would come to her without a problem, the next scene she saw left her jaw open in shock.

The sword... After being caught by Ben Li, it stopped trembling and started gushing out black-colored Sword energy all over. Enveloping Ben Li through his hands holding it.

Ran Ranxu was shock beyond measure and was left speechless of what just happened.

One must know that the Great Sword she wielded was no old-fashioned sword but a genuine Demonic Weapon made from the refined body of a high-ranking primordial demon.

Demonic weapons were stated to contain immense Demonic power which the like of humans couldn't fathom. A power that can rumble mountains to dust with just a roar and make the oceans seethe in heat with its aura bathing in it.

Such a powerful weapon with such a deep background was naturally hard for her to control given that she had to persevere to its annoying whining for a blood bath and had to up hold to the contract established with it.

Meaning, she has to feed it blood every single day or else the sword would go out of control while the sword would also do its end of the bargain to always obey her current master, Ran Ranxu.

"What are you doing, Ming Ming?! Get in here and let's kick his ass!" she commanded again. But no matter what order she spouted, her sword wouldn't listen to her and remained in Ben Li's grip.

Just when she about to get near and take the sword for herself, Ben Li suddenly collapsed to the ground and fell unconscious.

Ran Ranxu stopped in place for a moment and observed him. Sweeping her Spiritual Sense, she found out that he was knocked unconscious. She didn't give a damn about him and just went ahead to pick up her sword from his hand and finish him off.

But just when her hand was about an inch away from picking her sword up, her sword suddenly converged its black Sword energy into a small SwordQi and slapped her hand away.

"Ah?!" she was surprised that her sword wasn't listening to her, now she was surprised again that her sword would even slap her hand away. She cried and backed away by a step and looked at her sword in confusion.

"Ming Ming, why?" she was truly perplexed why her own sword, her precious partner whom she spent training every single day, would suddenly point its blade towards its own master and attack her without hesitation.

Her hand bled from the new wound it sustained but she was to shocked to be bothered by it.

...

Meanwhile, in three different places faraway. Xingjian, Wang Liu and Sect Leader sensed the sliver of powers they left inside Ben Li's body and glanced at the place where he was currently located.

It's not poison, but something's not right? They furrowed their brows and fell into thought. Eventually they decided that it was best to investigate and began to connect their consciousness into the sliver of powers they left inside Ben Li to analyze his condition.

...

Meanwhile, Ben Li was currently unconscious. But in his mind, he was currently in his mindscape. Totally confused on how he got himself here.

His Conscious Constructed Body stood in the center surrounded by Virtual projection for his Soul, the tiny Sun left behind by Sect Leader and the pitch-black rose floating in the void.

He also noticed the portal to Hell was wide opened when in fact, he remembered that he had closed it days before he got back in the sect.

Then finally, he noticed that an agonized voice was calling for him from the portal deep inside. Beckoning him to come and... Help?

Someone wanted help... From Hell at that?

Go figure. Every damn soul stuck in that place wanted help. But they're never going to get some because it's hell. It's totally hopeless in there.

But to hear only a single voice calling for him from the depths of hell... What could it possibly be?

Do I want to find out? Hell no!

It's not like I haven't learned my lesson back in that haunted village!

Anything related to anything that was from a horror movie is bad bad bad!

He should be getting out of this mindscape and escape from Ran Ranxu. But then he finally realized that he couldn't get out of his mindscape as he was only 12 Gates Practitioner and it was impossible for him to wake up unless he was a Foundation Formation Realm Cultivator.

...

But what the hell?

He was practically the Emperor of the Dead after cultivating the 1st Commandment. He can even command souls to give him their memories for information.

Hell was just another place where souls rest... Or suffer if that was what's been told.

Since it's just a land filled with souls, what does he have to fear aside from becoming one of them?

Stepping into the portal, Ben Li returned to hell alone without Wang Xie tagging with him.

He traveled in flight and flew high up with the pitch-black rose in his hand. Flying into the place where the agonized beckoning grew clearer and clearer.

Eventually, he arrived in a dark clouded place that was different from where the Pitch-black steles of the 10 Commandments was located.

Sweeping his gaze everywhere, he couldn't help but shudder as he what he saw was hell 3 times worst.

It was a land fouled in ancient blood and shriveled carcasses. A plethora of weapons ranging from small swords to massive weaponized structures were all scattered as ruins of a forgotten battle.

Souls were wandering about. Fighting everyone they see as they cry in anguish. It didn't matter if they lost a comrade, a limb or two or even their minds. As long as they had a weapon in hand or even teeth to sharpen and kill, they all fought against each other for no reason other than to seek hope in this hell.
