9 The Briar Home Community:

You couldn't see anything. But you could hear voices. Men's voices. Except you didn't know these men. Sitting still very quiet you listen. To the sounds of the outside. The Men. You hear someone grumble in pain. It sounded like Louis. You smell the Metallic smell of blood can even feel it next to you seeping into your clothing. You start to notice there is another body on the right of you. "Madie you alright?" Alice asked in a whisper careful not to disturb the men talking. "yeah." Madie said unsure. Madie knew she was blindfolded but was not sure if anyone else was.

"Look at that compound. I wonder how many survivors are there. Maybe we should do a stakeout and take it to boss." The man with the thicker southern accent said. You froze realizing they were talking about Fort Howard. Your breath shallowed at the thought of the Fort being attacked.

"Yea And women." The other man said sounding aroused.

After what felt like an hour drive we stopped abruptly. Both men or what sounded like both men got out and walked to the back of the truck. Opening the bed I felt someone grab my feet and in one yank I was now on gravel ground. Then Louis. Alice. Couldn't hear if Montana was here or not.

They yanked the blindfolds off and positioned us on our knees in a row.

Bright Lights smacked us in the face at first.

It took a few seconds for your vision to clear. Once it did you saw a huge black rot iron gate. The men who had kidnapped you were behind you with what sounded like guns. You look over and only saw Alice and Louis. No Montana.

The gate opens and a tall man came out and smiled. "Welcome to my community." He said a smooth voice. He wore a pastors clothing accompanied by the Bible. He looked at you then Alice. Then continued. "This is a rare opportunity for you all. A chance at new life. To be Reborn from your sins as well as others." He said clasping his hands together with the bible still between them.

He looked at Louis. "You my sir are perfect for helping with Armory. We will get you patched up and then you will be stationed at a post." Louis looked at him and then at Alice and Madie. "With all do respect sir. We would like to be on our way. We don't want trouble." Louis said trying to hold his wounded side. The man looks at you and then Alice again. "Well you two are perfect for our highest program. Women here are helping in a big way." He looked at you. "Repopulation is key to surviving this mess. Bringing into this world the purest of souls." He said with venom in his voice. Madie Chuckled. "NO! We will never give you what you want." She said staring him in the eyes. He lost his smile and glared at her. "You act as though I have given you a choice in this matter." He smirked. "Take him to Doris to get bandaged up. Take these two the where we keep the rest. If they struggle chain them up in the shed with the Demon for a few days. See how unwilling they are then." He said waving his hand. On his Right hand you saw a huge gold ring with an Emerald right in the center. Another man came out of the gate and took Louis to whoever the hell Doris is. The other two that brought us here grabbed me and Alice by the arms instantly yanking us to our feet. Then proceeded to push us forward meaning walk. "Where Montana?" Alice asked. "Quiet!" Is all the one with the thick Southern Accent said. She looked at me and then around the community. Walking through It seemed almost peaceful. Calm in a creepy way. Everyone was staring. Some were dressed to look like everyday people. Others were bloodied and beaten looking.

"What happened to them." You asked looking back at the men. He chuckled and looked at her.

"Cage Fight with Biters." He said. "That's what happens if you don't obey." The men both laughed loudly. We came to a Red door. When it opened a fragile looking elderly woman opened the door. Me and Alice were shoved in. The men left instantly almost as if they weren't allowed in the house.

The Elderly lady smiled a only a sec and showed us to our room. We were 2 of 4 women per room.

The other 2 looked at us and then away. "What is this place?" Alice asked Madie. One of the women stood up. "Its call the Briar Home Community. Or it was before all this. If you are referring to this house.. Well they call it the mating house. For the simple fact that we are untouchable except for Maverick. That's the man that meets everyone at the gate." The woman said holding her hand out.

"I'm Kelly. This is Martha." She pointed to her friend staring at the window. Madie took her hand and shook it. "Hi I'm Madie and this is Alice." You say walking over to the same window Martha was at. You look straight ahead and see a huge caged area. Lit up with football field lights and fire.

"That must be the Cage fight area." You say with a frown. Martha nodded. "I'm do to fight tomorrow night. My punishment for disobeying the Great Maverick." Martha said throwing her hands in the air. "We have to find a way out of here." Madie said. "We have tried. Death is truly the only escape." Kelly said sitting next to Martha. "No I won't have it. None of it. We are getting the hell out of here." Madie said. "Just as soon as I get the lay of the land." She looked out the window for hours watching guards and people pass. She even paid attention to how many people walked pasted the door in the hallway. Madie didn't sleep at all. She stood guard. Watching everyone and the moves they made. She also saw a flaw in one of the fences across the street. No one guards it. Alice looked at you and then to where you were looking. "You see that?" You ask her pointing to the spot in the fence. She looks. "What is that?" She asked. "That's how we are getting out of here." Madie said looking at the other two who just woke up. "When?" Kelly asked.

"Tonight."
