2 Dr.Ivin:

Pulling up to the Dr.Ivins lab you discover its untouched from the chaos. Tommy motions for you to pull around back to the main employee door. Tommy is the first to get out and try the keypad. Luckily for him Dr.Ivin never changes the pin. Even for new students.

You grab Lizzie and Holly and make your way to the door once inside Tommy stops everyone in the doorway. "Stay close and dont touch anything.. Now i do need to warn you there are cadavers here.. So watch for movement and or pay attention to your surroundings." He looks at His wife as he pulls out his .45. "Whats a cadaver?" Lizzie says looking at him very innocently. "Its a dead body." Holly said glumly eyeing Madie. "Still pissed I see." Madie smirks pulling her .38 out. "Good." She continues smirk turned into a smile. "Dr.Ivins lab is going to be in the basement. Elevators are straight ahead and to the Left." Tommy says cocking his .45 colt. Half way down the hallway theres a rustle behind a bathroom door. Madie looks at you and then to Lizzie. right when you go to open it Madie grabs your shoulder and points to the floor under the door. "Whoever is in there is not alive. Or bleeding to death."She whispers. You nod inagreement and keep moving. "Not so untouched is it." Holly said snarkly. Neither of you replied and kept quitely walking to the elevator. when everyone is secured inside Tommy punches the code in. "Are we sure he's alive?" Madie asked looking at the ammo in the gun.

"Nope." Tommy shook his head and said matter of factly. Madie smirked. "Okay then." She couldnt help but chuckle. When the doors opened Tommy and Madie were the first out. Then Lizzie and Holly behind. Lizzie stood close to Madie and Tommy for protection. "His office is in the morgue. Straight ahead. Youll see it once we get there. the hallway wall is bulletproof glass. Meant for observation for students." Tommy whispered gun drawn ready to shoot. To the left there was a white door with a tiny window in the middle of it. With two eyes looking at you. It was a Flesh Eater. The eyes were Red. Not a bloodshot red. But a deep Blood red pupil and iris. Flesh rotting off the right side of its face. teeth exposed. maggots falling from nose. Madie shielded Lizzies eyes and kept walking. You looked a second longer before following pursuit.

When you pass another room you notice 3 more in a room on the left. these ones were faster moving. not as deteriorated. "Its beginning to feel like a tomb down here." Madie said holding Lizzie to her leg eyes still shielded. "Just alittle ways ahead." You said not wanting to admit it but she was right. When you arrive at the Morgue you instantly stop in your tracks. Madie looks at your horror stricken face and sees why. "There has to be atleast 15 bodies in there." She said fright on her face. Some bodies alined the walls. atleast 6 were on the metal tables in the middle of the room. Others stacked up in a tarp in the back of the morgue. You blinked out of shock and looked at her. "All I have to do is make it to the back past the pile of bodies and im in his office." Tommy said getting ready to go in. "You Thomas are not going alone. I can help. And i will."Madie said daring an argument. "What about them? Its too dangerous for Lizzie and Holly doesnt have a gun." You say trying to make a point. That and you didnt want her going in there.

"We go together. they will be fine in the room across the hallway. its empty and the room locks. Ill give Holly a knife." Madie hands her a hunting knife and points for her to go to the room. She kneals down and talks to Lizzie. "Hey Sweetie we need you to go in this room okay. But if you need anything or see anything. Hide okay. Heres a walkie talkie okay. You keep this." Madie smiles and lays a stray hair back in place. Once they both are in Madie shuts the door behind her looking at Holly one last time.

You both descend into the morgue guns drawn. As quite as can be you both listen for movement while making your way to the back. You both see bodies some bloody missing body parts. Once you made it to the Office door you look in. Hes there sitting in his seat head down. slowly opening the door and entering you say his name. "Dr.Ivin?." No response. moving closer you say his name one more time. "Dr.Iv-" And suddenly you are interrupted by and older schreeking man jumping from his seat. "Damnit dont scare me like that. I though you were a fleshie." Dr.Ivin says realizing its you. "Thomas?My boy that is you.. Been too long. Howd those marines treat ya.. Well by the look of ya pretty well." He says smiling with enthusiasm. He looks at Madie. "This must be the Wonderful Madie. By the Rock on her finger she said yes.. My word its been ages since i have seen you.. Or anyone else for that matter. What brings you here my boy?" He continued smiling and shaking Madies hand pulling her into a father like embrace.

"Dr.Ivin we need your help. We are heading to a compound at Fort Howard. Maybe you have heard of it. I believe there might be a cure. I also Believe you to be the only one who can actually finish the serum." Tommy said leaving it all out and in the open. Dr.Ivin stopped and looked at him. He smiled and gestured for Tommy and Madie to Follow. "This way. Follow me." Then he descended into the morgue area. "No need to worry these Fleshies are harmless. only use is for samples. So are the live ones Im sure you saw in the hallway. Ive also been working on a serum. It regenerates cell tissue and some characteristics. Can even slow down the infection process but only temporary. Maybe combining them or even making a complete new one with both serums accounted we could actually save the world." Dr.Ivin says showing you his findings. "So will you come with us? Theres more survivors there just like us." Madie said grabbing Tommys hand hopeful.

"Yes.. But ill need to collect a few things first." He says grabbing a insulated bag. "Tommy can you go to my office and grab the computer and hardrive off the desk. Also theres a gun in the right upper draw. Ill need that as well." He continued winking at Madie. Madie helped bag up stuff from the morgue. Once they all finished up packing Madie made it to where Lizzie and Holly were suppose to be waiting. The Door was open. Madie panicked and scanned the room. She heard a faint wimper coming from behind the sofa. "Lizzie?" She whispered moving towards the noise. Tommy and Dr.Ivin were both coming out of the Morgue and across the hall.

You scoop Lizzie into your arms and hug her soothing her tears away. "Wheres your mommy honey?" Madie asks wiping tears from Lizzies cheeks. "She said she was gonna make you all pay... And she grabbed my arm hard and threw me across the room... She ran out. You see her arm which has a horrible bruise and swelling. Looking at Tommy furiously. He looks down the hallway and sees one of the doors is open that wasnt earlier. And fresh blood on the ground. "Is there another exit that doesnt go that way down the hallway Dr.Ivin?" Tommy asked. Dr.Ivin looks in the same direction. "Yes through the Morgue right next to my office actually. Fire escape is what i use to get back and forth. And we should probably hurry. Idon't mean to rush this. But judging by which door is open we need to get out of here. And fast." Dr.Ivin says quitely eyeing Tommy. "Tommy opens the Morgue door right as 3 fleshies come running and snarling out if the room. "MOVE!" Tommy ordered and began firing at the zombies. Taking the biggest one to the ground with a knee shot. Once everyone was in he shut and barricaded the door to by time. Unsure if they could even get through. Madie carrying Lizzie with her eyes closed tight per instructions from Madie. Everyone made there way to the exit and through the door just in time for Tommy to hear the zombies burst through the morgue door and running towards them. Everyone ran fast to the main floor and through the door. Tommy coming up behind barricaded that door just in time for the Monsters to rush it and throw Tommy from the door with the force they used. Running down the hallway quitely to the Employee entrance they noticed a herd of Fleshies in the Lobby. Holly was on top of the soda machine screaming bloody murder. She noticed everyone running by and begged for help.

"Should we help?"Tommy asked. "Leave her.. She made her choice." You say coldheartedly keeping eye contact the whole time before exiting the the lab.

When outside theres a few stragglers at the other end of the parking lot. "Everyone get in the vehicle." Tommy ordered and turned to the keypad ripping it from its stand. Ensuring no one would let those almost super monsters out.

Tommy took over driving. While reversing he hit one fleshie. Then began driving and ran over the top of one on the way out the parking lot.

Made it back to the Highway heading to FortHoward. Everyone was quite. Lizzie was sleeping peacefully in the closes back seat to Madie.

She looks back at her and smiles. "Wanna talk about it?" Tommy asked. She shook her head. "I would have done far worse to her. And death was too easy." She said matter of factly. With that he nodder and no more was sad till they arrived at a tiny house in the middle of nowhere. "We could all use some rest. This place is as good as any. Lets check it out and make sure than take shelter for the night. We will leave first thing in the morning."Tommy says picking up the sleeping Lizzie from the back seat and heading to the house. Once inside it was clear it was abandoned for a long time even before all this started. Everyone checked all doors and windows then headed there own ways for bed. Madie and Lizzie were both fast asleep in the main bedroom upstairs. Tommy couldnt rest so he went to find Dr.Ivin.

In the Dining room he saw the Doctor sitting at the table looking at files. Dr.Ivin looked at him and back down with a almost sadened face.

Tommy sat across from him and pulled the files over to look at them.

"Whats this?" You asked curious.

"The three people... Fleshies files. One was Marta a student who had been bitten by one of the first cadavers. It happened before we knew anything about this Virus or plague. She was suppose to graduate today you know. Then the big mean looking fellow was a security guard Travis. Who got to close to Marta after her case worsened. The next is Dr.Vinkle. He was here to help train students. He was set to go home next week until we needed him here again to train the next batch." Dr.Ivin said so sad. "Dr.Ivin. these three were diffrerent. Faster. Stronger. They took down a metal door like it was nothing. They seemed crazed with rage. They arent like the others." Tommy said eyeing the photos.

"When they turned. i locked them in that room. I didn't want to kill them... I wanted to help them. Fix what had been done. I started working on a cure. Or something the help fix or reverse what was done to them... In the beginning stages it seemed to work temporarly. But within seconds they would turn back to there old fleshie selves except each time made them stronger. More aggressive. It was having adverse affects on them. I was almost ready to give up hope when there was a straggler one day in the hallway staring at me through the morgue glass walls." He pauses remembering the moment she appeared. "She was slower but aggresive. I managed to lure her to a room to run tests. Shes the first one im sure you saw on your way to see me. With the last try of the serum it seemed to work on her. atleast it turned her docile. The cell regeneration wasnt quite right but being it was a start. she was becoming more human each day.." He stopped realizing how it all sounded.

"I failed them." He said grabbing the files and putting them away. "You didnt fail anyone. Your going to find a cure and we are going to be okay.." Tommy say. "Like you said in the lab we have a chance to still save some humanity. What do we have to lose." He continued. Dr.Ivin looked at Tommy and smiled. "Get some rest. We are heading out Early tomorrow morning." Tommy said patting him on the shoulder.
