A New Group Has Formed - 4th Chapter

I fell asleep pretty quickly but I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed that Chinami is not sleeping, she was looking out of window at the stars.

I decided to come up to her.

"Oh sorry , did I wake you up?" She said

Me - "No , I guess I am too stressed to fall asleep."

Chinami - "I admire you to be honest , you already fought against so many monsters and you're so determined , I am scared."

Me - "Did you fight against any monsters yet?"

Chinami - "Yes I fought against a Goblin and it was easy , but you defeated 5 that had some special weapons too , like that Dagger."

Me - "What are your stats?"

Chinami - "Open Status."

"Strenght 9 , Vigor 10 , Intelligence 12 , Endurance 14 , Durability 8 , Speed 17."

"Close status."

Me - "Those are pretty good stats , you're still level one right?"

Chinami - "Yeah but I don't have a good weapons, in my starter pack I was actually given only a Dagger but as a bonus I got 5 skill points."

Me - "Wait so there are more starter packs?"

Chinami - "Yep."

Me - "Interesting , anyways I Can give you another dagger if you want , In my starter pack I actually received a sword and a Dagger , but I have my dagger in my Inventory because I replaced it with the Goblin Dagger."

Chinami - "Are you sure you Can give it to me? It would be a huge help."

Me - "Sure whatever helps the Team."

"Open Inventory."

I clicked on the dagger in my inventory and it appeared in front of me , that's how Inventory works in this system.

I gave the dagger to Chinami.

Chinami - "Thank you so much , I will make sure to repay you."

Me - "Don't worry about it , anything else you need help with?"

Chinami - "You know how to fight right? Can you give me some tips or teach me some tricks?"

Me - "Sure but let's go outside for that."

We went outside and I told her some classic tips and teached her my "bait attack" , the one I keep using. I decided to call it like that because the entire move is pretty much about hiding one of your blades and drawing attention of your opponent on your hand with weapon.

We went back inside after I gave her tips and teached her the "bait attack".

Chinami - "Thanks a lot , now I am more confident in surviving."

Me - "Don't worry , I think we will absolutely destroy every monster in this area since there is 5 of us."

Chinami - "I sure hope so , anyways I think we should go to sleep now I don't want to be tired in the morning."

Me - "I agree , Goodnight."

Chinami - "Goodnight."

We went to sleep and I didn't wake up until morning.

When I woke up Mamadou was already swinging his sword outside , preparing for fights I guess. Everyone else seemed to be asleep or in their rooms , Chinami was also asleep.

I decided to go outside and watch Mamadou , to maybe learn a trick or two , I didn't mention this but he's a big guy , the sword he has is two handed , so I Can see him absolutely cutting through monsters like a peanut butter.

Me - "Good morning Mamadou , training this early?"

Mamadou - "Oh good morning Majo , yeah I am preparing for fights , I need to kill as many monsters to level up as much as possible."

Me - "Care for a sparring a match?"

Mamadou - "Sure but , we don't have wooden weapons isn't this dangerous?"

Me - "We will just keep them sheated , whoever lands first a good strike takes the win , what do you say?"

Mamadou - "Sounds great."

Me - "Allright let's begin."

We started with 5 metres distance between us and took our fighting stances. And It BEGINS. I am smaller than Mamadou so my strategy is to use my Speed for advantage , and to also use the bait attack to win. Of course there is no gain for me in winning this match but we both might as well try hard, to get some good training.

I dashed towards Mamadou , he just stood there ready to swing his sword when I come in range , I stopped when I closed the distance but not enough for him to be able to swing.

He stepped forward and swinged his sword , It was a light swing , which means that I cannot counterattack because he could just swing back.

I stepped back and parried his attack with my sword , which made him lose stance for a moment , but I couldn't find any openings.

This time Mamadou attacked , he stepped forward and did an overhead swing , I thought this was a mistake. I side stepped and performed my "bait attack" , first thrusting attack with my sword , but he somehow parried it. I was not done yet and used the second step I swung my Dagger at him , he blocked it and then I swung my sword and he quickly stepped back.

I started going more aggresive , Swinging my dagger at him and doing thrusting attacks with my sword , he blocked and dodged everything tho. He's good.

Then he swung his sword at me , I blocked it with my sword, and then I let go of it and just went full for him with my dagger , I closed the distance as much as possible , I was in advantage because he has a two handed sword and now we are in a very close distance.

I swung my Dagger , but he already let go of his sword and took my right hand in which I was holding my dagger. Then he literally threw me on the ground.

He quickly picked up his sword and did an overhead swing but I dodged and instantly got up from the ground. Suddenly I am at disadvantage because I lost my sword. I took a super agressive stance , I cannot defend myself with just my dagger , so I am going all in.

I dashed towards Mamadou and he tried to strike me

with a thrusting attack but I somehow parried it with my dagger and then I put my knife to his neck... but his sword was right next to my neck too.

Lisa - "Ok guys I think that's enough you can call it a draw."

While we were fighting , I didn't notice it but the others were already awake , Chinami and Lisa were looking at our fight with an open window. Anders was also looking but he was sitting on the couch , he didn't seem as interested in the fight as the two other.

Mamadou - "Sorry guys did we wake you up?"

Chinami - "No no you didn't but wow that fight was pretty amazing."

Me - "Thank you , and also well done Mamadou I didn't expect you to be this strong."

Mamadou laughed and said - "Right back at you Majo."

I picked up my sword and then we went back into the cottage and had a breakfast, Mamadou received a lot of bread in his starter pack , but it's bread , so it will get spoiled eventually. With that information , we decided to eat it , and then we each gave him a little bit of our food for him to have in his inventory.

After breakfast we had our "tactical meeting" , we came up with a strategy:

Our front line warrior will be - Mamadou - because of his size and weapon.

Our flank will be - Chinami - because of her speed and agility.

Our support will be - Lisa - in her starter pack she received a D Grade bow , she learnt how to use it quite quickly. With her bow she had only limited arrows but she received skill which allows her to create arrows for 2 mana each.

Our rear will be - Anders - he's got a long spear as a weapon and someone needs to protect Lisa , so he chose this role , he also got a REVOLVER in his starter pack , the thing is he has only 6 bullets. He hasn't wasted any yet , and only fought with his spear , but if we will be in a very bad situation he will use his revolver without a second thought.

Of course if there are no monsters in the rear , Anders will go to front line to help Mamadou or fight monsters coming from the sides.

And now me , we decided to call my role Midfielder

the purpose of this role is to be wherever there is trouble , which means that I have to be focusing on everyone at once and help whoever is in the worst situation.

And with this , this is our formation:

We will automatically get into this formation when we receive warning of monsters being in close area.

The only problem is when we won't know where the monsters are coming from , because they could attack our rear. But we created strategy for this aswell.

(Few minutes back , throughout the tactical meeting)

Anders - "If they attack our rear Majo will quickly come to my help and we will be fighting off the enemies , Lisa will be helping us. Meanwhile Chinami and Mamadou will be looking around if there are monsters that could attack from other sides , after checking , if there are none they will help us with the monsters , otherwise they will fight against the monsters on their side. Does that sound good."

Seems like a good plan to be honest , we all agreed to it and after preparations , we finally left our cottage and decided to go wherever we could find someone or something.

After 30 minutes something finally happened.

[Warning a pack of monsters in the area]

We quickly took our formation and thankfully the monsters started attacking from our front lines.

It was 9 wolves one of them being a Dire wolf ( the first monster i ever killed). I guess that was their Alpha , 3 wolves charged at Mamadou and he started furiously swinging his sword , Anders after checking out surroundings realized that there are no wolves around us but only those in front of us.

He went to front lines and started fighting the wolves with Mamadou , meanwhile Lisa killed one of the wolves with her bow.

I came up to Chinami and told her that if we take down their leader , they might get confused and even run away. I told this to everyone and asked them if we should take down the Dire Wolf or take them down one by one to gain more experience.

We decided to attack the Dire Wolf , Chinami started circling around the wolves waiting for a good chance to strike , me and Mamadou started advancing towards the Dire Wolf, Lisa was supporting us with her bow , while Anders defended Lisa from wolf that was attacking her.

We already took down 4 wolves and me and Mamadou reached the Dire Wolf , It dashed towards Mamadou and he defended himself and while that was happening I got attacked by another two wolves, Anders quickly ran to my aid. And Chinami killed one of the wolves that got shot in leg by Lisa.

Me and Anders quickly killed the two Wolves and ran to help Mamadou , meanwhile Lisa killed the 8th wolf and Chinami also started to run towards the Dire Wolf. We attacked it at once and it stood absolutely no chance.

Chinami leveled up and put 3 of her points to speed and 2 of her points to strenght.

I received 150 experience from this fight , It seems that you don't have to kill monsters to gain experience , but just simply fight. With that said I also received 15 experience from before , because I sparred with Mamadou.

After we calmed down , after all this was our this was our first fight so it was pretty chaotic , but overally I am very satisfied with it. Anyways after we calmed down , we kept going forward and talked about various topics , we needed to lighten the mood because being stressed is pointless.

After walking for another 30 minutes we saw something far away , it seemed like a VILLAGE. Friendly people in Another universe perhaps? It was few kilometres away so we picked up our pace.

I wonder what will they be like , if there will be anyone in the first place. I really hope we will meet some other players. Oh that reminded me...

Me - "I was checking the number of players , it dropped again."

Mamadou - "I didn't notice the number changing at all, but I wasn't very focused on it too.

Lisa - "Does this mean they are ... dead?"

Anders - "Not sure if it can mean anything else."

Me - "Well for now I will assume that's the case, but it might be something different , although I doubt that."

We kept going until we reached the village and then....
