56 Chapter 52

AN: Taking a break every now and then really helps. Whew... I've just been feeling tired and am actually very busy lately. Veeeeeery busy IRL, need to earn more, so I work more. Waaaaa...

Wrote this while sleep-deprived. Soooo yeah.

ROBIN'S POV

After the fun teaching moment, I had with my best friend turned brother... While he expressed some dissatisfaction regarding the whole lesson thing, going as far as to scoff and disregard it all, saying that he can control himself well enough to at least not injure his mate since he has been training and had been intimate with other humans after turning. He commented that it wasn't entirely satisfactory since he had to hold back a lot, but his point was that he was able to control himself then, and he believes that he can control himself with his Emmett.

So he proceeded to get close to him, as I just watched over them from time to time, also bonding with Emmett since he was my favorite brother figure before I... uh... reformed my first and current brother Edward... Also, he's going to be my bestie's man, so he's bound to join us sooner or later.

The two got closer and closer together after a few months, and then an incident happened that changed Isaac's mind about the whole lesson I gave him.

Flashback:

Isaac was with Emmett, and I knew that this was the day my bestie decided to take the next step. If you ask me if I'm worried or not, of course, I'll say I am... I trust my best friend with my life. I don't doubt that he has control, and he will try his hardest to not hurt his mate... But even if it has already been 2 years, and I've been training him since turning, for vampires, aside from having golden eyes because of our diet, and his strength dampened after losing all his human blood in his body after a while, he's still considered a baby among the vampires, with less control over his enhanced body...

I heard a scream coming from Emmett's cabin, and then I heard Isaac call for me. I sped up to their location, not caring about being seen, since this is private property and is located in a very secluded area at the edge of town.

I barged into the cabin and went straight to Emmett's bedroom. The door was locked, of course, it would be locked, they were about to do the deed, of course, they'd lock the door, Robin... But I was anxious about what might have happened, okay?! I clicked my tongue in annoyance because I knew I couldn't just break the damn door, so I knocked three times to get Isaac's attention. I understand that he was too distracted from fussing over his injured mate to be able to sense me...

Yes, I knew he was injured because I could hear Emmett groaning in pain while still trying to act tough, assuring my bestie that it wasn't a big deal. He was even blaming himself for being too fragile, seeming embarrassed about it.

I sensed Isaac coming over to the door to open it for me, and once he did, I saw him with a helpless and worried expression. I was planning to tease him a bit for this incident, like saying "I told you so," but seeing his expression, I'll give him a break for now. But if he still insists on believing that he does not need more training for this, I'll beat his ass until he changes his mind.

[AN: that last bit sounded wrong. 🥴]

I proceeded to walk towards Emmett and then checked over his condition.

*It seems like you've fractured his wrist, but luckily for you, you were able to hold back enough to not completely shatter it. We need to secure it so he doesn't move it around much, so it would heal faster. He won't be able to use his hand for a while, and since we don't have any meds to dampen his pain, a cold compress could help?* I explained to Isaac, while Emmett, after looking at me with a pained and confused expression, shifted his gaze to my bestie.

"It's nothing, she was just trying to emphasize how much she worked hard training me to gain these muscles," Isaac tried to convincingly explain to him, but his expression looked awkward.

Oh my ROB, very convincing... NOT! Did meeting your soulmate make your lying skills disappear or something? What happened to you?

[AN: you can't talk shit, love changed you too!!! You literally lose 99% of your IQ when you're with Rosalie. 🙄]

I smiled innocently at Emmett, then to Isaac... He saw my expression and a glint of fear flashed for a second, it was almost unnoticeable, but knowing him for all these years, I caught it. We exchanged looks. Him saying "I'm sorry"... Mine says "Bitch. Shut up, let's go." I'm trying so hard not to roll my eyes.

"Uh, yeah," Isaac added, trying to salvage the situation. "I got a bit too carried away during our... uh... game. Sorry, Emmett."

Am I a kid? I knew you were about to have sex. Just say it. What are you acting all shy for now? Game? Seriously? Are you Irys and Bae? Was the game Monopoly? Yeah, you were about to play Monopoly.

[AN: wondering if any of my readers would get the reference 😂😉]

Emmett seemed oblivious to our silent exchange as he accepted our explanation with a nod. But I could tell by the way his eyes lingered on us that he wasn't entirely convinced. He was giving us the benefit of the doubt for now, but I knew we would have to be more careful in the future.

Isaac's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but there was a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. He knew he was in for it later, but he also seemed oddly resigned to his fate, as if he was already mentally preparing himself for the inevitable scolding. It was infuriatingly endearing, and I couldn't help but shake my head in exasperation.

ROBIN'S POV

Since it'll take about 3 months for Emmett's hands to heal, Isaac volunteered to help him out around with everything, he even goes with him for hunts, since it's Emmett's main source of income aside from the occasional people who rent the cabins.

They got closer and closer, but no hanky panky yet, since I think Isaac got traumatized from almost permanently crippling his mate's hand.

We also noticed that Emmett, tho still behaving as his bubbly loveable himbo self, had started to ask more questions about us, our origin, and whatnot... We sometimes catch him trying to follow us when we go out for our hunt, so we have to be extra careful for a while.

We've been staying here for quite a bit now and I'm been anxious lately, because even if there have been changes since I came here, it doesn't mean that the plot for Emmett's death via Bear attack won't happen, fate has this weird obsession with trying to make it happen...

I'm having Final Destination movie scenario flashbacks. You were able to skip it now, but it'll come back to you... I'm scared now... Not just for Emmett, but also for a certain blonde... My blonde...

I'm jinxing myself, aren't I? I totally am... Shit...

EMMETT'S POV

My heart raced as I trailed Isaac and Robin through the dense forest, my steps muffled by fallen leaves. The air was thick with tension, my senses on high alert. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Isaac and Robin than what they shared with me, something captivating and mysterious that drew me to them... To him like a moth to flame.

The moment I saw them, I knew they were different, it may be their appearance... ROBIN is by far the most beautiful woman that I've ever seen, ever... And that included all the ones in the magazines and actresses... Her appearance is so surreal that I can't even imagine the possibility that there would be anyone that could even rival her looks... They've explained that she was born different, that she was an albino... And I know about it, I've seen someone with the same condition... But she's... She's different.

And then... There's Isaac...

Growing up, I've never really thought about liking the same gender... Men... I've dated women. I've always been with women, I've never experienced any attraction towards other men... But I don't discriminate, I know this opinion of mine will be seen as scandalous by the majority of people... But I don't mind people liking the same gender, love is love. But I was straight.

Until I met him. I've never met a man so perfect. Those muscles... His jaw... Perfectly sculpted, chiseled... Those eyes that seem to bore into my soul, my very being... Making my heart beat so fast like it had never beaten before. His voice made my body shiver in excitement, my lower half threatened to react in public... It took everything in me to halt it.

The bottom line is, that he was hot. He was beautiful, he was perfection... It was an instant attraction... So strong that it threw away all my experiences about attraction and falling in love out of the window like they were all a joke.

So I made a move, I had to make him mine, I pursued him, while also bonding with his sister, who by the way was very supportive of us, I learned that she was also into the same gender as Isaac. I was so happy when I confirmed that he also liked men because I had been anxious that even when Isaac was also openly flirting with me, there were these negative feelings that told me otherwise.

We got to know more about each other, I shared everything about me, and so did he... Almost... I always felt like, despite how open he and Robin were to me... I always felt like they were still hiding a very big thing from me. My mind kept wondering what it could be, what's the big secret? Are they criminals? Are they running from the law? Are they in some kind of trouble? And so many more.

But here's the thing, regardless of how bad my guesses were... I WAS STILL interested and very much attracted... Drawn to Isaac. I still wanted to be with him.

Then the incident happened. I was in pain and was a bit flustered at that time, so I just agreed and made it seem that I believed them, but my suspicion of them grew stronger... It might sound crazy, but I think they're human... Or at least not an ordinary human. A lot of instances and moments started to pop into my head... suddenly appearing behind me... Perfectly good or strong objects easily broken by them... They seem to be able to hear each other from far away... And this thing... When we eat together, which is an activity we rarely do together, Robin eats perfectly normal and reacts normally, but Isaac looked like he was eating shit, at first I thought it was my cooking since I admit I'm not a good cook, but when Robin cooked, and it tasted as divine as she looked... Isaac still had the same reaction... And lastly, there's this one time I caught them coming back from the woods, Isaac had blood at the corner of his lips, which Robin wiped for him as soon as she saw me...

They gave me reasons... Explanations or causes as to why and how it happened. Before the incident, I kind of did accept them all... But now... I want to know, I want to know more, I've been trying to ask, but they just kept brushing me off and changing the subject, and this made them more suspicious because they're normally very open to sharing about anything under the sun. So that's why I've been following them for a couple of times now whenever they go outside... So far, their activities seemed normal, Sometimes they pick up wild fruits, mushrooms, and so on... And then I saw them exercising and sparring, surprisingly, Robin actually dominated, she was the one training Isaac.

My thoughts were stopped when. I heard one of the scariest things you could hear in the woods.

^Growl^

I heard a loud growl behind me... And when I turned around, I saw a black bear. I immediately tried to grab my gun, but I forgot that I was still injured, I winced in pain and dropped the gun. The bear thd. Heads towards me, I tried my best to make myself taller, more intimidating. But unfortunately, it was not effective. It then continued to head towards me.

As I was about to get mauled, but before it did, I screamed for help... I don't know why, but I have this almost blind faith towards them both, especially Isaac. I feel like he'll arrive to save me whenever and wherever.

A blur of movement intercepted its path. Isaac materialized out of nowhere, his movements fluid and graceful as he effortlessly evaded the bear's attacks. I just watched in awe as Isaac's strength and agility surpassed anything he had ever witnessed before. Another blur came, it was Robin, coming in front of me, shielding me from the bear and Isaac.

With a swift, precise motion, Isaac launched himself at the bear, his teeth bared in a primal display of power. My eyes widened in shock as I witnessed the truth—Isaac wasn't just a man, he was something else entirely. A creature of the night, a predator in human form.

As the bear thrashed and roared in agony, Isaac seized the opportunity, sinking his teeth into its exposed neck with a savage hunger. I don't know why, but the sight of Isaac fighting the bear made me all hot and bothered... drinking deeply from the creature's lifeblood, his primal instincts taking over with a raw, visceral intensity.

For a moment, I was paralyzed with curiosity and awe, my mind struggling to process the reality of what I had just witnessed. But as the last echoes of the bear's dying cries faded into the night, Isaac turned to me with eyes that glinted with a predatory gleam. Which disappeared as soon as our eyes met, his expression softened, worry and... Love? Directed to me.

Robin tapped my shoulder like she was encouraging me. She then stepped aside so Isaac could

"Are you alright?" Isaac's voice was smooth and reassuring, that if I hadn't just witnessed what he did with the beast that almost killed me... I wouldn't even be able to imagine him to be capable of such a feat...

"What are you" I finally ask him.

AN: After not uploading for a while, I gave you this. A lot of useless talking, talking, and more talking. Well, I wrote this in between my very short breaks. So this was patched up together... 😂 I know, disappointing chapter.
