Norman was currently in a small room that appeared to be a mini-laboratory, it had been a few hours since Betsy had left the mansion and almost immediately Norman had locked himself in the room.

And while it was a small laboratory it shouldn't be belittled, it was so well-equipped that it wouldn't even lose to the ones they had at Oscorp.

The room was profoundly silent and the only thing that could be heard from time to time were the keys of a keyboard being pressed in a rapid succession.

As for Norman, he was investigating the possibility that he had the X Genome in his body, although at first, he did not think too much about it due to the lack of mutants in the world, the revelation that they exist made him rethink his ideas.

Norman was currently awaiting the results of the genome sequencing, which would tell him undoubtedly whether he possessed the X Genome.

However, that was not the only thing he was doing, as the fact that with the revelation of mutants many threats arise even more than he had already foreseen from the beginning.

First of all, he needed to create an artifact that would be able to block telepaths, although it is easier said than done, but he had no choice that basically was a necessity, as he did not know if he had some immunity to those kinds of attacks or probes.

What he would try to create would be some sort of artifact that in simple and theoretical words would deploy an energy field that could block telepaths from entering his mind or even being able to locate him, of course this was only theory, and he had to find a way to test it.

But for the moment it was better than nothing, things just wouldn't be that easy, but in time he would.

His mind was thinking about the version of Betsy he had encountered, from what he remembered of her she really was one of the toughest and most dangerous mutants there was in the X-Men.

Though he was a little curious about her origins and how she ended up being an apprentice to Ducard, but from what he could tell the body she was in seemed to have English features which might indicate that the body swap with Kwannon hadn't happened, assuming that would happen in this timeline.

It really was a headache to have to think about now he had to have plans ready in case the mutants became a threat and assuming the existence of Magneto then it was obvious that at some point they would start attacking humans.

And if it turns out that he also possesses the X-Genome, then he would be part of the mutants and considering Magento's character it is obvious that at some point he will have to face him.

Nor should we forget Charles and his X-Men, that although they usually fight for the "good", there are still several questionable things that the Professor X has done in the comics, so it would also be good to have a contingency plan against him.

As well as all of his villains who in some cases can be considered heavyweights at Marvel, he really was a bit screwed.

A small sound of alarm snapped him out of his thoughts and he stopped what he was doing to get closer and get a much better look at the results he had obtained.

Once he read the information he got from the genome sequencing Norman effectively discovered that he had the X Genome in him.

Of course, the fact that he was a mutant could serve to justify his teleportation power in a simple and logical way, however it is not as if without that fact he could not explain it.

However, the most important thing about his discovery was the fact that he could now basically say that he had a much bigger target than at the beginning.

Mutants have rarely been accepted by humans which has created countless conflicts between the two sides in the comics and Norman doubted that this world would make an exception, the fact that mutants were in hiding made it clear that they certainly thought they would not be accepted by society.

He needed to start thinking about a possible solution to that problem, of course he could simply do absolutely nothing and just deny any relationship with them, but at some point it would probably be revealed that he also possessed the mutant gene.

Instead, he could also begin to devise a plan to change and control the opinion that people may have of mutants, while it might be somewhat difficult to do so, with his resources he could at least try and considering the reputation he possesses most people would be susceptible to his words.

With that thought Norman began to map out a plan in his mind, while trying to see if he could find out a little more about the X Genome, he just knew it would be a busy day.

While Norman had been locked up for hours in his lab MJ had recently arrived at the mansion and found herself somewhat puzzled by the fact that the elder Osborn was nowhere to be seen.

But in the end she decided to leave that fact aside however she quickly noticed that Harry seemed to be more pensive than usual and while he didn't seem to be sad or anything similar MJ still felt a little worried about that fact.

So, she decided to have a little snack in the garden of the mansion, since the little boy enjoyed being outdoors, but it seemed that on this occasion he did not take too much importance to that fact.

But the redhead had to admit that she found it cute how he seemed to be extremely concentrated while eating a small piece of watermelon, he reminded her of a squirrel with chubby cheeks.

Seeing that a little bit of juice seemed to remain in his mouth in an instinctive act Mary Jane took a napkin and began to wipe it off so that it wouldn't stain any more than it already had.

The little boy showed no resistance and just stood still as he let the redhead wipe his mouth and part of his cheeks: "Ready" he heard her say.

Harry only took his gaze to the redhead while a contemplative look was shown on his face, the beautiful woman upon feeling the boy's gaze only showed a friendly smile while she placed the used napkin in a separate basket where she had different fruits.

Once she finished she turned her attention back to Harry who had laid down while looking up at the sky, MJ let out a small sigh as she saw the boy's attitude before following his lead.

"So will you tell me what's going on?" the redhead asked softly.

MJ didn't get an immediate answer, but that didn't discourage her instead she just waited patiently until Harry answered, "I think dad is seeing someone" after a few minutes of silence the answer finally came.

Okay, that revelation was a bit of a shock to the redhead, but she quickly pulled herself together, "And that's a bad thing?" she questioned again.

Harry furrowed his eyebrows a bit almost as if it was difficult for him to say his answer: "I don't know" his childish voice was full of sincerity: "I should be happy, but I don't feel happy" he continued.

"I've often thought it would be nice if dad had someone, but now I'm not sure" he seemed to be a little confused: "Now I have you and dad, I really wouldn't want it to end" he confessed.

Mary Jane took some time to think about the answer she should say to the little boy, but even after thinking about it for a while she couldn't really find a way to say something.

In the end she simply decided to be honest, "I don't think you need to think about that" she started to say catching the little one's attention, "Besides if Norman had a significant other I'm sure you'd be the first one he'd tell" she added as she truly believed that.

"As for me, well, even if that were the case I would still be your babysitter, so you needn't worry" she continued as she stood up and looked into the boy's eyes.

Soon after her gaze fell on Bernard who seemed to indicate to her that it was time to go inside, so she began to grab all the things she had brought with her as she informed Harry that it was time to go inside.

Harry just positioned his body so that he was basically sitting down, "But I want you to be my mom" he mentioned in a low voice.

Mary Jane who was busy gathering the things she had used for the improvised picnic only heard Harry whisper something, "Did you say something?" she asked which the boy soon shook his head before starting to help her.

When Norman left his lab it was already dark and most of the people working in the mansion were resting after a day's work.

Norman for his part was heading to the kitchen, he needed to eat something before going to rest, after a day he could not quite understand the X Genome, but it is not as if it was something surprising, although he also thought he should test Harry just to see if he also possessed the gene.

When he got to the kitchen and was about to open the refrigerator he noticed that there was a really good drawing of three people he easily recognized.

Norman soon felt the presence of a person approaching: "Young Harry did it" Bernard's voice was heard.

"That's a good drawing" Norman commented before watching as Bernard walked ahead of him and started to take a plate out of the refrigerator and headed for the microwave.

"Miss Watson went to the trouble of cooking for you, so it just needs a little warming up before its ready" explained Bernard his actions.

"She shouldn't have done it" pointed out Norman.

"I agree she shouldn't have" Bernard mentioned agreeing with Osborn's words.

Norman knew the motive behind the attitude Bernard was adopting with him: "She's not who you think she is, she's just someone with whom I have some common interest in a work manner" he mentioned without giving too many details.

Before Bernard spoke the microwave had finished its function, so the butler took out the plate and placed it on a sort of bar: "As I mentioned to you a little while ago Sir, you need to find a good woman, both for you and for Harry" he commented seriously.

"Yes, I know, I know well" Norman spoke, currently Bernard had an idea in his head, and it was almost impossible to get it out of his head, he would talk to him once he calmed down and wanted to listen to him.

Without further ado Norman took some silverware and proceeded to eat, he had to admit that he really liked Mary Jane's cooking.
