2 Chapter 2

-[Wynne]-

Though he already had the base knowledge about the world of Remnant, he wanted to delve deeper into its culture and setting.

Accelerated learning was truly a blessing as it didn't take him long to go through the history books in the library as well as the books on dust.

He was the heir to the Schnee Dust Company, it would be a disgrace if he wasn't as knowledgeable as possible.

For example, dust didn't work outside Remnant's atmosphere. The reason was unknown but despite that, they didn't attempt to find an alternative fuel source.

He didn't blame them, they relied on dust from the moment they learnt how to pronounce their names.

Another thing he found out was that Remnant's source of entertainment was severely lacking. The most interesting thing you'd find on their internet would be porn and even that wasn't done right.

With his programming skills, he would be able to solve that problem…the first problem at least. Remnant's odd fetishes in coitus were their own business.

The door to the library was pushed open as a butler walked in. "Mister Schnee, your father would like to see you."

"I see. I'll be there shortly." Wynne said, barely looking up from the book in his hands.

As soon as the butler left, he dropped the book and raised his palm, showing a small glyph above it.

He was a ways away from being skillful at using it but he'd get there eventually. Dismissing the Glyph and returning the book to the shelf, he exited the library and made his way to Jacques' office.

Upon getting there, he paused outside, knocking first. Only after he heard the expected invitation did he enter.

"You wished to see me father?." He said in a curious manner.

The man only nodded. "I did. Charles Maron, one of our partners, is holding a charity event to raise funds for Mantle next week. A fool's errand but nonetheless, it would be good for our reputation to appear supportive of it."

As the heir, Jacques didn't mince words when talking to Wynne, making sure he knew that others were below them.

"Will anyone of importance be in attendance?" He asked.

"Other than Ironwood, some no-name investors but we needn't worry ourselves about them." Jacques said, prompting Wynne to nod mutely.

"While we're on the topic of raising funds, there's a matter I wish to bring your attention to." Wynne started, causing the man before him to raise a brow, gesturing for him to continue.

"I have a business idea that would bring us a large amount of Lien outside the dust refinement industry without losing anything in dust refinement either." He explained.

He could see the interest plain as day on Jacques' face. The man cared about money over anything.

"And what is this business idea?" The man asked.

"For the sake of not giving you false expectations, I ask for discretion until I can provide some tangible results. It wouldn't do for me to provide you with an unfeasible idea. What I can tell you is that I already have my plans laid out, all I ask for is some funding to further it." Wynne explained as Jacques silently scrutinized him, clearly thinking over what he just heard.

There was silence in the office for a moment before Jacques finally broke it.

"How much do you need?"

-[Jacques Schnee]-

Watching Wynne walk out of his office, he couldn't help the proud smile that played on his lips.

He was initially worried when Winter left for the Atlas Military rather than taking up her duties as the heiress. She would have truly done well but now he regretted nothing.

He'd started grooming Wynne after she left, soon learning the difference between them. The boy picked things up faster than Winter, much faster.

Most importantly, he had something his older sister lacked, initiative.

Though he was skeptical about this 'business idea', Wynne had yet to disappoint him. It was why he had even more privilege and freedom than Winter did. He barely needed to be told what to do at this point.

He had done well in grooming the perfect heir.

Whether or not he failed, it would be a learning experience for him.

-[Wynne]-

His idea was simple. To create a Remnant version of League of Legends. Was it scummy? Yes. Was it profitable? Also yes.

With his programming skill, he would be able to put it together easily enough.

The Schnee Dust Company was powerful but he needed something to his name that would give him the credibility or social power to eventually take the company back from Jacques.

He'd just secured the funds to bring it to fruition, now he just needed to actually get started.

'I'm going to be busy for a while.' He thought with a tired sigh, already feeling tired from the eventual work.

•••

In the days before the charity event, he spent his time alternating between practicing his use of his glyphs and laying down the groundwork for the game.

He also put his 'reactive adaptation' to the test. Though Jacques himself didn't workout, he didn't stop Wynne from working out.

The combination of reactive adaptation and limitless potential was enough that the results had already begun showing. His muscles were reacting and adapting quickly to the workout and developing lean muscle to fill out his otherwise lanky body.

Unlike Weiss and Winter, he didn't undergo training to become a huntsman so he had to start building up his body from scratch.

Standing in front of a mirror, fitted in a white suit not unlike the one Jacques usually wore. He idly wondered why Jacques stopped trying for a child after him and Weiss.

There was no Whitley on this Remnant, Wynne's birth no longer necessitating for another child to take up the Schnee name.

Satisfied with his appearance, he exited his room, surprised to see Weiss about to knock on his door.

His twin was dressed in a blue flowing dress with long sleeves, very light makeup to accent her natural appeal.

"Well you look rather dazzling." He complimented. "Anything I should be worried about?"

She rolled her eyes. "You're one to talk. You pull off that look much better than father."

Wynne showed a proud smirk. "That's because I'm actually a Schnee, not some old man who dyed his hair."

Weiss quickly looked around, stifling her laugh. "Shhh. What if he hears you?"

"That would be a problem, wouldn't it?" He wasn't worried about the man hearing him. He had easily found and hacked into the hidden camera Willow had placed in Jacques' office.

The man was still there looking over some documents before they would leave.

"You're lucky I can't mess up your hair right now." He said, causing her to frown cutely.

"I will definitely not miss that when I'm gone." Though she said that, he knew that she was lying.

"Well I have around a month before then so I'll use it wisely." He joked before offering her his arm in a gentlemanly manner.

Despite the groan she gave, she took the offered arm, linking it with hers as they walked through the manor.
